Book A Hotel

The cheapest Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Italy tend to be the budget brands. Our readers are luxury leisure travelers, so the cheapest Marriott hotels we have picked are less expensive than the best Marriott hotels in Italy, but these hotels remain part of the luxury Marriott brands rather than focusing on the budget brands.

The cheapest Marriott hotels in Italy are usually AC Hotel Padova and Four Points by Sheraton Padova, but these are not appealing for a holiday and are not well located for tourist destinations. We have not included these in our listing below.

The cheapest luxury Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Italy are:

All these hotels are either Marriott hotels or a subsidiary of Marriott. There are no Ritz-Carlton hotels in Italy yet, although Ritz-Carlton on Lake Como is due to open in 2026. There are plenty of Ritz-Carlton hotels in Europe, just not in Italy.

On the Amalfi Coast, which includes Capri, Salerno, and Clifftop Sorrento, there is no decent Marriott at all. Puglia lacks a good Marriott too, although a Four Seasons is set to open in Puglia soon, which will become one of the best Four Seasons beach resorts.

Other destinations that you might consider visiting in Italy include Sicily. The San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel is outrageously good and is one of the best Four Seasons in the world. We have reviewed the best Marriott in Sicily, but none of the Marriott hotels in Sicily are particularly good, so we would reccomend trying the Four Seasons or Belmond.

For something completely different, we have reviewed the cheapest Marriott Bonvoy ski hotels along with the cheapest Four Seasons hotels in the world for those who want to splurge.

Read on to find the best and cheapest luxury Marriott hotels in Italy. The prices in this article are based on a stay of 16-20 July 2024. Rates were correct at the time of writing.

Book any Marriott or other luxury hotel stay via our luxury travel concierge to get free breakfast, hotel credit, room upgrade (subject to availability), as well as all your usual Marriott Bonvoy points, making these rates an even better deal.

1. Duo Milan Porta Nuova, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The best Marriott hotel in Milan is the Bvlgari Milan, but the cheapest luxury Marriott hotel in Milan is Duo Milan Porta Nuova, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

This hotel has been completely renovated and is located in Porta Nuova, Milan’s trendiest district. Two hundred thirty-nine rooms and suites feature vibrant colors and unexpected details. There’s an informal bistrot with Italian and international cuisine, and a fantastic top-floor panoramic Peruvian lounge & restaurant will open in mid-2024. Add in a courtyard, a fully equipped fitness center, and five meeting rooms, and you have all the ingredients for the perfect luxury hotel stay.

This hotel is not the Bulgari Milan in terms of luxury, but it is still brilliant because it is considerably cheaper than the Bulgari. Book here or at any of the other luxury hotels in Milan via our luxury travel concierge to get free breakfast, hotel credit, room upgrade (subject to availability), and more.

Pricing varies, but in July, rates start at around a very reasonable €216 EUR per night. This is the cheapest Marriott in our listing and is a bargain in such an expensive Italian city.

2. Delta Hotels Giardini Naxos

Delta Hotels Giardini Naxos is less luxurious and cheaper than Ortea Palace Hotel, which is the best Marriott in Sicily. It would not be a hotel we would reccomend to luxury travelers, but it is a great mid-range or budget option.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Giardini Naxos is a revamped four-star beachfront hotel set in Giardini Naxos within easy reach of the Taormina and Mount Etna. The hotel has an infinity pool, or you can sunbathe and splash about on the hotel’s private beach.

There are two sea-view restaurants, or you can sip a cocktail at the pool terrace bar overlooking the sea. There’s also a gym and spa to keep fit. Two hundred ninety-six guest rooms offer a balcony and breathtaking views, and the hotel is only 30 minutes from Catania Vincenzo Bellini Airport.

In July, rates start at around a very reasonable €237 EUR per night.

3. Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa

Nestled in the Lucca countryside, Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa is one of the best Marriott hotels in Tuscany. This luxury haven has elegant indoor and outdoor venues suitable for meetings, conferences, and weddings.

Refresh in the sparkling waters of the two pools or rejuvenate at the fantastic resort spa. Surrounded by 1,700 acres of gorgeously landscaped grounds overlooking the pristine Serchio Valley, this luxury hotel is a stunning property in one of the world’s most inspiring locations.

Breathe in relaxation in luxury rooms and suites with spectacular valley views. Ignite your senses with delicious Italian and international fare at distinctive restaurants or explore nearby wineries, unique shops, and storied attractions, including the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.

In July, rates are pretty cheap at €263 EUR per night.

4. AC Hotel Venezia

The cheapest Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Venice are Four Points Venice Mestre, Courtyard By Marriott Venice Airport, but AC Hotel Venezia is a much better option as it is a nice looking hotel and does not feel quite as outside of Venice as the other two. So this is the third cheapest Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Venice and the one we would reccomend if you are traveling on a budget.

AC Hotel Venezia is Rewards Category 5 hotel, so is a cheap redemption and a nice hotel, but its location is bad.

The brand new AC Hotel Venezia is strategically located at the “entrance” of Venice. It is located close to Piazzale Roma, the final bus and car terminal, a minute’s walk from Santa Lucia Railway Station and the Waterbus stop, and only a 20-minute ride from the Venice Marco Polo Airport.

This modern hotel design combines Venetian-style details. Seventy-nine rooms, among which are 3 Junior Suites and 14 Superior Canal View rooms, are equipped with every comfort. There’s a cozy AC Lounge where you can chill out after a day spent discovering the city with the world-famous Venetian aperitif or the Spritz, where you can enjoy one of the specialties of the day.

The problem is that this hotel is not in the touristy and pretty part of Venice. It’s on the edge, meaning you have a trek (well, waterbus ride) to get to where you want to be. You can easily reach Rialto Bridge, St. Mark Square, and all the exciting places you want to visit, but you are not on top of the action. However, this is one of your cheapest options in Venice.

In July, rates start at around a cheap-ish €336 EUR per night.

5. The Westin Palace, Milan

The Westin Palace, Milan is a charismatic and modern sanctuary within the Porta Nuova district of Milan with arched ceilings hang above beautiful stone and parquet floored rooms. This stylish hotel also has a green terrace looking out onto the garden where you can eat and drink.

Two hundred thirty-one guestrooms combine the beauty of the hotel’s classical architecture with pared-back Milanese 21st-century design. Eat well at the signature Italian restaurant PanEVO, which serves traditional regional cuisine in an intimate location, or walk through the lobby to reach The Lounge Bar, the ideal backdrop for casual gatherings with an authentic feel.

Pricing varies, but in January, we see rates start at around €368 EUR per night, which costs slightly more than Duo Milan Porta Nuova, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, but considerably cheaper than Bulgari Milan and the other luxury hotels in Milan.

In July, rates start at around a very reasonable €368 EUR per night.

6. The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, Autograph Collection

The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, Autograph Collection is one of the cheapest Marriott hotels in Rome and is located just moments from some of Italy’s most legendary destinations, like the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain.

Within this boutique hotel, you’ll find artwork and modern design reminiscent of Rome’s golden age, from its lobby to its modern rooms and suites.

Unwind amidst bespoke amenities in your boutique hotel room, each with a private wine cellar, a pillow menu, and more. This boutique hotel’s elegant, inviting atmosphere is carried into the sixth-floor terrace restaurant and lounge, where stunning views of the Roman cityscape complement delectable fare and craft cocktails.

The Michelin Starred Idylio by Apreda, offers a modern blend of Mediterranean and Oriental flavors from renowned Chef Francesco Apreda.

Prices here in July for a standard room start at around €547 EUR per night.

7. W Rome

W Rome is usually slightly more expensive than The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, Autograph Collection. It offers an informal yet impeccable Whatever/Whenever service and trademark high energy. All W hotels offer a high-energy, fun setting. When the fun is mixed with an Italian joy for life, the resulting ambiance is magnetic.

Located on Via Liguria, next to the Spanish Steps, one of the most iconic masterpieces in the Eternal City, W Rome seizes the non-stop tempo of Rome and marks the W Hotels’ brand entry to the scene in an unapologetically Italian way.

Within the hotel’s 162 rooms and suites, the vibe is calm, though colors are bold, the design is layered, and detail indulgent. Private balconies and terraces add outside space and iconic views.

Loaded with Roman vitality yet dismantling the norm, W Rome is a hotel that has something for everyone, all the time, at any pace. Time is irrelevant, and the W experience is Italianized. Connect to the past, be in the moment, and anticipate the future.

Prices here in July start at around €587 EUR per night.

8. JW Marriott Venice

Venice is one of our favorite places in the world, and it has a huge variety of Marriott-branded hotels. Our favorite, and the best Marriott hotel in Venice is the JW Marriott Venice which is cheaper than St Regis, Gritti Palace, Cipriani and the Aman in Venice.

This luxurious enclave is located on its own private island with glorious lawns and two pools, including one very Instagramable rooftop pool. The hotel has its own complimentary boat that will take you to the Piazza San Marco, but when you are done with the crowds and sightseeing, you can return to this green garden island and laze under the trees or down by the pools. The best rooms here have private pools and sit on the lagoon’s edge.

In July, rates start at around a reasonable €651 EUR per night.

9. The Westin Excelsior, Florence

On the iconic destination of Florence, The Westin Excelsior is steps from the Piazza della Signoria and Uffizi and is one of the cheapest Marriott hotels in Florence.

Browse boutiques along the Ponte Vecchio, have an espresso at a local café, and enjoy the best Florence offers. Take in the vibrant flavors and sweeping views in SE·STO on Arno, the glass rooftop bar and restaurant.

You can stay fit in the WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio, elevate your meeting in one of our unique venues, and enjoy seven centuries of Italian history. One hundred seventy-one elegant guest rooms and suites were recently renovated. Some feature private balconies with stunning views of the Arno, and all feature the Heavenly® Bed.

Prices here in July start at around €1,270 EUR per night, making this the cheapest luxury Marriott hotel in Florence but still fairly pricy.

Prices here in July start at around €1,223 EUR per night, which is cheaper than the St. Regis Florence but is still rather expensive!

10. St. Regis Florence

The best Marriott in Florence is St. Regis Florence, which has been the preferred stop of seasoned travelers since the 18th century. We reviewed the St. Regis Florence recently so that you can discover why guests will pay quite so much to stay here.

This hotel’s main selling points are its location and its historic decor. Located steps away from iconic landmarks, the St. Regis Florence offers an unrivaled immersion into the cradle of the Renaissance. Florentine aesthetics can be enjoyed throughout the hotel. Affixed with rich colors, custom frescos, and sparkling crystal chandeliers, the antique décor pays homage to the city’s artistic heritage.

We have compared The St. Regis Florence Vs. Four Seasons Florence. While St. Regis Florence is the best Marriott hotel in Florence, the outstanding Four Seasons Florence is a step above and should not be missed.

In July, rates start at around €1,486 EUR per night, so it’s not cheap and is the most expensive hotel in our list of the cheapest hotels in Italy.
