Is there a Ritz-Carlton on the Amalfi Coast? No, there are no Ritz-Carlton hotels in Amalfi, Naples, Salerno, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, or on the islands of Capri and Ischia.
In fact, there is no luxury Marriott hotel on the Amalfi Coast. There are a couple of very basic Marriott hotels around Naples, but nothing in the pretty hillside villages.
As for the Ritz-Carlton, there are no Ritz-Carlton hotels in Italy at all. There will be a Ritz-Carlton on Lake Como, but that’s it. Usually, if there isn’t a Ritz-Carlton, I immediately look for a Four Seasons hotel.
Italy is home to some of the best Four Seasons hotels in the world including Four Seasons Milan that we personally reviewed and loved, Four Seasons Florence and San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel. There are also two new Four Seasons opening in Venice and in Puglia. But there is no Four Seasons hotel on the Amalfi Coast either.

On the Amalfi Coast, we have some suggestions that are not Four Seasons hotels but still offer high luxury. We would reccomend booking Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel in the town of Amalfi, which is a historic early 13th-century monastery stuck into the cliffs above Amalfi’s harbor.
Hotel Villa Fraulo is an imposing palazzo in Ravello and a great hotel choice. Il San Pietro di Positano is a glamorous hotel with wonderful terraces and the perfect place to stay in Positano.
Belmond Hotel Caruso, perched high above the hilltop town of Ravello, is your best choice near Ravello. We just love Belmond hotels, particularly Hotel Cipriani in Venice. Belmond Hotel Caruso has 50 guest rooms and suites and an intimate ambiance. Most of the rooms have a sea view, terrace, or private garden. Outside, the infinity-edge swimming pool sits dramatically suspended between sea and sky.
We also love the Capri Palace on the island of Capri. This hotel is actually in Anacapri, which is a little town part of the way up the main hill in Capri. It has wonderful terraces with sunset views, a superb and much-loved boutique pool area, and if you can book a room with a plunge pool, a view, or both.
