Book A Hotel

Which Sofitel hotels have executive lounges, and which club levels are the best in the world across America, Asia, Europe, and Australia?

We think the best Sofitel club lounge is at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali, because:

  • There’s a generous food selection
  • The resort has wonderful pools and beach

We have personally reviewed some of the best Sofitel hotels in the world. Not all Sofitel hotels offer executive club lounges. For example, the Sofitel in London St James does not have an executive club lounge, but many do have club lounges, and we’ve picked the best of the bunch below.

AccorHotels brands include Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman, The Sebel, and Ibis. Only loyalty “Le Club Platinum” members get free access to the clubroom level. Otherwise, you have to pay for a club room to access the club lounge.

At certain InterContinental hotels, our luxury travel concierge offers free club lounge access. We offer free lounge access at the InterContinental London Park Lane, Paris Le Grand, and InterContinental New York Barclay. There is no other way to get free lounge access at InterContinental hotels. We also offer free club lounge access at the Fullerton in Singapore. Contact our luxury travel concierge if you want free lounge access, and we will do our best to get you the best deal.

Below, we list some of the best Sofitel hotels with club lounges in the world:

1. Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is one of the best luxury hotels in Bali and has one of the best club lounges in Bali. This hotel also has some of the best hotel rooms with direct pool access in Bali.

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort lies just 15 minutes from the airport, and many main attractions are within easy driving distance. The resort offers prettily landscaped pools and 8 hectares of tropical gardens bordered by an immaculate stretch of white sand on the edge of the Indian Ocean. The resort’s modern architecture gives it a sublime ambiance, and you can stroll meandering leafy pathways to get around.

The centerpiece lagoon pool is perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. Try soothing treatments at the SoSPA, and you can keep in shape at the SoFIT fitness center. In addition to all of this, you can enchant your taste buds at one of the resort’s three restaurants or kick back in one of their two bars.

Stay in one of the 415 well-appointed rooms, which include 39 suites and villas. For direct pool access, you can choose between private plunge pools or rooms with direct access to the resort’s immense lagoon pool. You really can’t go wrong with either!

The executive club lounge here is called The Club Millesime Lounge. This lovely space has a secluded library, a relaxing lounge area, a wine station, and cozy meeting rooms.

There are a number of daily food presentations along with fine wines, captivating artwork, and the exclusive service of a dedicated butler.

The lounge provides abundant delights, including a personalized breakfast, tempting afternoon treats, refreshing cocktails, tapas, and all-day refreshments. Additionally, guests have the privilege of a private check-in and check-out experience at the Club Millesime Lounge.

Signature Club Millesime daily benefits include:

  • Breakfast : 6:30 am – 11:00 am
  • Le Gouter – High Tea: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Apero Chic – Wine, Cocktails, and Tapas: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

If you book via our luxury travel concierge, you will get free breakfast and a room upgrade (subject to availability), regardless of whether you book a club room.

2. Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Vietnam

A prominent fixture in the heart of Hanoi since 1901, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi beautifully combines French art de Vivre with elegant Vietnamese touches. It also offers the best club lounge in Hanoi.

Located just steps from the Opera House in Hanoï’s French Quarter, this legendary property brings guests into intimate contact with the opulence of another era.

You can surround yourself with heritage as you stroll through stately corridors and explore its dramatic past. Daily tours of Metropole’s Path of History and the bomb shelter are offered exclusively for guests staying at the hotel.

The hotel features 364 rooms and suites and excellent meeting and event facilities. The SoFIT by Sofitel gym, situated in the hotel’s inner garden, has been completely redesigned to become a prominent luxury fitness center in Hanoi.

The spacious 400 m² Le Spa du Metropole is a calming sanctuary overlooking the charming garden, courtyard, and pool, featuring private massage areas, thematic spa suites for couples, a manicure and pedicure booth, and a humid zone with a steam bath.

For food, choose between the Parisian-inspired cafe La Terrasse, the popular poolside Bamboo Bar, the Vietnamese restaurant Spices Garden, the multi-award-winning French restaurant Le Beaulieu, the bespoke cocktail bar, whiskey lounge, and restaurant Angelina, and the colonial-inspired Le Club Bar famous for its afternoon high tea and evening jazz performances.

To gain access to the club lounge here, you must book a Club Floor guest room. These rooms are larger than the standard guest rooms and offer dark wood floors and Hermes bath toiletries.

Club Floor guests can access the Club Metropole Lounge, which offers all-day drinks, international newspapers, tables for card games, Wi-Fi, and a dedicated concierge.

The Club Metropole Lounge offers a buffet-style breakfast, traditional high tea, and evening cocktails, and light bites, including puddings. The food I delivered at similar times to the executive club lounge at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. The evening cocktails include a live piano player to bring atmosphere to this wonderful lounge.

3. Sofitel Saigon Plaza

Vietnam’s vibrant Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is still often called Saigon. Retreat to the serenity of Sofitel Saigon Plaza in a quiet enclave steps from the buzzing city center where you can enjoy one of the best club lounges in Saigon.

Sofitel Saigon Plaza is located on peaceful tree-lined Le Duan Boulevard, just a moment from the city’s commercial center with its fabulous shopping, dining, and landmark attractions like Notre Dame Cathedral and Reunification Palace.

The club lounge offers breakfast and evening hot and cold canapes and drinks, including champagne and cocktails during cocktail hour. If you book a suite, they will run you a complimentary bubble with candles and petals, which is magical.

4. Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao

On your next trip to Shanghai, China, stay in pure luxury at the stunning, Parisian-inspired Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao, which lies in the heart of the city’s Hongqiao central business district. You are conveniently near to Hongqiao Airport and Railway Station and opposite the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC).

The Parisian-inspired common areas, guest rooms, and suites are simply beautiful. Opulent, lavish, and chic, just like Paris. The city of Shanghai has long been referred to as the ‘Paris of the East,’ and so the hotel is a wonderful representation of this tradition.

An impressive array of avant-garde business and leisure facilities are available to you. Clock up some lengths in the 25-meter indoor infinity pool, then relax on the outdoor terrace.

For some serious pampering, treat yourself to a massage at the SPA and make use of the sauna, hammam, and Jacuzzi, too. There’s also a So Fit gym as well as 11 meeting rooms covering 2,000 m². Whether for a personal or business occasion, events held at the Grand Ballroom will be remembered for all the right reasons.

Choose from 354 beautiful guest rooms and suites, all featuring French-style furnishings, the signature Sofitel MyBed, and bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers. Opt for a Superior or Luxury Room, both of which can be taken with Club Millesime access.

These luxury rooms are not only larger than the superior rooms but are more stylish, too. They have magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows to really make the most of the city views.

Once again, the club lounge offers food and drink at similar times to the lounge in Bali above. Expect drinks throughout the day, a full breakfast, afternoon sweets, and light bites with cocktail hour.

5. Sofitel London Heathrow

The Sofitel London Heathrow connects directly to Terminal 5 via a walkway and is the only 5-star hotel at Heathrow Airport. It offers several bars, including a Perrier Jouët bar and the Sphere lobby bar, and restaurants, including La Belle Epoque, which is one of London Heathrow’s fine-dining restaurants.

The hotel itself has an impressive and busy entrance with orchids and fountains. The rooms above are split into six wings adjoined by open-air walkways that sit under high glass atriums. Hotel rooms either look outwards to the airport or inwards over a part of the hotel.

For example, some rooms overlook the restaurants, others the marble foyers and reception areas. Our room (room 6108) looked out to the roadway coming into the airport. Since none of the rooms look onto the runway or planes, there is little to choose between the inward-facing and outward-facing rooms.

The room is pretty standard for an airport hotel. All be it with plenty of space upgraded finishings and amenities, and superbly quiet quadruple glazing (double glazing, then a gap, then double glazing again). The blackout curtains are excellent, and the bed is large, so it is easy to get a good night’s sleep. The black marble bathroom (see pictures below) has a walk-in shower and bath with a TV screen in the wall and offers ESPA toiletries.

There is also a spacious 24-hour fitness studio, with free access for hotel residents, which I didn’t try.

Guests at the Sofitel in a luxury club room or suite automatically get access to Club Millésime. Guests in standard rooms can pay to upgrade to use the lounge.

The lounge isn’t big, with seating for around 40 people, but it provides a relaxing space and includes internet access, food, and drinks. The complimentary continental breakfast is a decent spread with a buffet choice of scrambled eggs and sausages, smoked salmon, bread and jams, cereals, fruit, berries, yogurts, smoothies, juices, coffees, and teas from a machine.

In the evening, there is a good selection of beers (bottles of Peroni, Asaki, and one other), wines, and spirits. The food offering is not huge and served on very small plates, but there is just about enough to fill you up with noodle vegetable dishes, chicken skewers, fried fish, greek salad, cheese, biscuits, and nuts.

6. Sofitel Abu Dhabi

The Sofitel Abu Dhabi is conveniently located in the city’s Corniche, one of the most prestigious districts. This luxury 280-room hotel sparkles on the sea coast. Chill out by the pool, enjoy live music at their Jazz bar, or rejuvenate at So Spa. Elegant rooms and suites have MyBed and free Wi-Fi and offer an unparalleled experience with breathtaking views over the harbor.

Walk over Corniche, an impressive eight-kilometer waterfront with pedestrian pathways, parks, and cafes. Visit the stunning beach with turquoise water and white sand on Saadiyat Island, or entertain yourself at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi or Yas Waterworld on Yas Island.

Club Millesime is the club lounge at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi and is a nice but fairly standard club lounge without anything outstanding about it except for the view. It is one of the best club lounges in Abu Dhabi.

This club lounge is on the 35th floor and offers a great view of the Persian Gulf. Unfortunately, you cannot check in and out from the lounge. But the service is superb. There is a cold buffet for breakfast with loads of chopped-up fruits: melon, pineapple, kiwi, and more, plus cold meats and cheeses, yogurts, fruit salads, veggies, whole fruit, nuts, smoked salmon, and you can order plenty of warm options from the menu including eggs.

There are free evening cocktails from early evening and light bites, including veggies, canapes, olives, sliced meats, and mini puddings. Nice, but not enough to fill you up. You will need to eat out, which is why this lounge comes near the bottom of our best club lounge list. This hotel also doesn’t have a private beach, so it is not our favorite.

7. So Sofitel Bangkok

Inspired by Monsieur Christian Lacroix, Club Signature at So Sofitel Bangkok is ultra-stylish and one of the best executive club lounges in Bangkok. The ambiance reflects Lacroix’s design, with walls covered in imaginative patterns, rich texture, and vibrant colors, which reflect the skyline as the sun goes down. An outdoor terrace tops this lounge off, so you can enjoy alfresco drinks if the weather suits you.

Open daily from 6:00 am – 11:00 pm, located on the 25th floor, expect views, breakfast, complimentary all-day refreshments, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, laundry, late check-out, and priority booking, all with a splattering of French Joie De Vivre!

8. Club Sofitel, Sydney Wentworth

One of the best club lounges in Sydney is the Sofitel Club Lounge at Sofitel Sydney with private check-in, meeting rooms, a-la-carte breakfast options, as well as drinks and hors-d’oeuvres in the evening.

This executive lounge is not exceptional, but it does have a good food offering but limited alcoholic drinks with no obvious champagne. Excellent staff and a cute outside courtyard/garden area make this worth paying for, but it’s not a patch on the InterContinental or Four Seasons lounges mentioned above.

9. Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

Sofitel Melbourne On Collins has one of the best club lounges in Melbourne. It offers some of the best city views in town.

This lounge is hugely high on the 35th floor, offering unique views of the St Patrick’s Cathedral, Yarra River, and MCG and abundant natural light provided by floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a fun circular fireplace in the center of the room.

Melbourne’s Club Sofitel is for clubroom guests on levels 47 to 49. You get a private check-in and check-out, the usual all-day refreshments, an open bar with canapés in the evening, a wireless workspace, private meeting rooms, plasma televisions, electronic games, and stunning views.

10. Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

Sofitel Mexico City Reforma is located in the heart of Mexico City’s historic Reforma Avenue and offers one of the best club lounges in Mexico City and offers a chic French style mixed with the vibrant and lively Mexican culture.

It is just steps away from iconic monuments such as the Angel of Independence and the Castle of Chapultepec. It is one of the best luxury hotels in Mexico City, with one of the best club lounges.

At the base of the hotel sits a restored house originally built in 1983. The historic structure was incorporated into the modern design of the 40-story building in order to preserve the city’s architecture and history, resulting in a dramatic and striking exterior built upon both contemporary and classic architecture and design styles.

Sofitel Mexico City Reforma is within walking distance of the city’s thriving business district. Leisure guests, those looking for a tranquil escape from the bustling streets of Mexico City, we will delight in the serene atmosphere of Sofitel’s lavishly appointed spa with L’Occitane, followed by enjoying a fun time at our luxurious 38th-floor pool and finishing with an evening in one of the 3 bars and two restaurants. If you fancy a cocktail, try the 38th-floor bar Cityzen for some of the best views of Mexico’s capital.

Guestrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the Mexico City skyline, thoughtful amenities such as bath products by French brand L’Occitane, Nespresso coffee machines, an extensive pillow menu, and intuitive technology from Bluetooth connectivity to automated window curtains.

The Club Millésime Lounge, Sofitel’s private club lounge on the 36th floor, is reserved for guests staying in Club Millésime guestrooms. Club Millésime offers the ultimate luxury and exclusivity with a French flair, featuring an array of personalized services, including private check-in, dedicated concierge service, and access to other unique touches such as bath amenities by the exclusive French brand Hèrmes.
