The best time to visit this hotel is in the summer when you can bike, hike, shoot, jog, and make the best use of the grounds. The pool has an outdoor area to sunbathe, which is delightful in the sunshine, and even in the good old British drizzle, the warmer weather makes exploring the grounds more pleasant.
The Best Things About Four Seasons Hampshire
Driving up the immaculate driveway edged by perfectly mown lawns reminds you that this is a Four Seasons hotel where nothing is tatty, and everything is seemingly perfect. This great country house sits on the top of a hill and looks down over swathes of grassland and wooded copses. More modern wings have been built onto the house containing many of the rooms, and outhouses have been extended and converted to accommodate a stunning spa and extensive pool, as well as a great gym and kids club.
The interior of this Georgian Manor has been beautifully restored. Marble has been used throughout, which gives the place a warm, creamy hue. The manor and its various wings are adjoined by enclosed glass walkways with underfloor heating – ideal for walking barefoot between the rooms and the Spa. Extravagant flower arrangements adorn the hallways, and open fireplaces add atmosphere and warmth. Finally, the hotel dog, Oliver, who has won a “best hotel dog” award (he is very, very lovely), lazes in the reception, bringing a touch of home to the place.
This hotel is great for kids. There is a superb play area along with the kids club to keep them amused. Kids are welcomed into the pool, which is so very unusual for an English countryside hotel. Most manor houses ban children altogether or restrict kids to only using the pool between certain very restrictive times.

I love Four Seasons hotels, not least because they are so lovely to my own child. They seem to be designed for families while remaining a great choice for couples, too. Just look at the 3 pools at the Four Seasons Maui, two allow children, but the third is a serene, peaceful infinity paradise.
My little boy is growing up too fast but is still welcomed with open arms across all Four Seasons hotels. I have never felt uncomfortable taking him out in the evening or fearful when I see other families at Four Seasons hotels as I have never seen a badly behaved child at a Four Seasons on all my travels – they must be worn out from having too much fun!
And when you are tired and in an unfamiliar part of the world that is far from home, a Four Seasons hotel will make you and your family feel comfortable and safe. The staff will know where the nearest pharmacy or doctor is. They will have a supply of any toiletries that you forgot. They will cater to your child who refuses to eat an egg because “there are black bits in it” (pepper), even if that means repeatedly redelivering a different version of the same meal.
They will even entertain your children at one of their many wonderful kids’ clubs, so it is a real vacation for you as well as the kids.
Four Seasons will satisfy the needs and tastes of any discerning traveler and is, without a doubt, one of the world’s best and most well-known luxury hotel brands. They will have thought of everything, and even though their environment may be slightly sanitized and have more of a Four Seasons personality than the personality of the local area, I am a major fan.
Is It Worth Booking Your Four Seasons Room Via Your Credit Card?
Credit cards sometimes offer deals at Luxury Hotels, but if you book through our own concierge, your benefits are prioritized over Amex bookings.
