Book A Hotel

Aman Hotels and Resorts offers some of the best luxury hotels and resorts in the world. They don’t offer discounts ever, but our luxury travel concierge can help you book their best special offers, secure you our free VIP benefits, and ultimately recommend the best rate for your requirements.

We can also advise on the least popular months to book a stay at that hotel, which in turn will bag you the cheapest rate. This isn’t a discount, but a bit of clever timing means that you can snag a lower rate simply by traveling and visiting outside the main season.

The great thing about booking via our concierge is that you can get these free benefits whilst taking advantage of Aman hotel special offers which you can find on their website.

Individual Aman resorts like Amagiri will run packages that can be very attractive, for example, Spa packages. These are under the “Exclusives” tab on the resort website and can be 3 for the price or 2 for the price of 3 offers, or there are some really cost-effective packages you can book. Some of the Aman Journeys can be booked with benefits, too, so contact us for a free quote.

Aman is often considered the world’s most exclusive hotel brand, over and above any other luxury hotel. Expect an ultra-high-end experience at these hotels, along with an even more amazing experience on the Aman private jet trips.

Many luxury hotel addicts refer to their love of Aman hotels by describing themselves as “Aman Junkies.” You will find numerous pages and threads in the luxury hotel forum on FlyerTalk dedicated to reviews and discussions about the merits of various Aman hotels. Amanjunkies have a deep passion for this brand, and many don’t holiday anywhere else.

Why Aman?

The first-ever Aman was born in 1988 in Phuket. Named Amanpuri, meaning ‘place of peace,’ this hotel started a revolution in luxury, and today, there are more than 30 ultra-luxe hotels in 20 countries. Aman hotels do more than offer a guarantee of room quality and service. They offer a whimsical design, integrating the character of the local area with ultra-luxury furnishings.

If you stay at the Aman Canal Grande in Venice, you are actually staying in a historic palace!

Unlike a more generic luxury hotel brand like the Four Seasons, Aman’s don’t always offer the full spread of amenities because they tend to be boutique properties rather than 100+ room monsters. Taking the Aman Canal Grande as an example, there is no pool here or kids club or club lounge. I am not sure if there was a gym or not. It could have been hidden away down one of the many windy corridors. What it does offer is the ambiance of a private members club overlooking the main canal in Venice.

Like most Aman hotels, You won’t get non-guests at this property as the gates are locked and monitored by a camera. If you are not recognized, you can’t come in!

All Aman properties ooze character, but the fact that this particular hotel is missing the crucial facility of the pool means that it is worth checking each Aman individually to see that it has the facilities you require. Certainly, in Venice, I marginally prefer the Belmond Cipriani, which has an enormous pool, so you can sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Aman Canal Grande has a tiny outdoor garden and is not a place to laze for the day.

Wherever you go in the world, Aman rooms will be large and luxurious. The bathrooms, in particular, are always enormous, too, even in the base rooms. Their cheapest rooms are still of an excellent size, standard, and quality. Whichever room you choose, if you book via our concierge, we can bump you up a room level for free (subject to availability) as well as offering a bunch of other free benefits!

This level of ultra-high quality guarantees you an enjoyable stay at any Aman hotel around the world, whatever room you book. Communal areas are also always immaculate, and the staff are always welcoming. They often address you by your name and will charge your drinks and sundries to your room without even asking your room number!

Why I Love A Aman Hotel

When you are tired and in an unfamiliar part of the world that is far from home, an Aman hotel will make you feel cossetted and safe. The staff will know where the nearest pharmacy or doctor is, and they will have a supply of any toiletries that you forgot. They will cater for your child who refuses to eat egg because “there are black bits in it” (pepper), even if that means redelivering a different version of the same meal twice. But unlike Four Seasons hotels, they are not particularly big on kids’ clubs and “facilities” instead of being more adult with a room with its own plunge pool priority.

How About Other Luxury Chains?

I tend to feel that Aman Hotels, Leading Hotels Of The World, Belmond, and Four Seasons hotels offer pretty much top-level luxury for hotels. I am also a fan of Langham Hotels, particularly their London property and Park Hyatts. The hotel you should choose depends on what you are after in terms of facilities and the price.

For example, you find Leading Hotels of the World in most major cities, whereas Aman might be only present in some of the main ones like Tokyo, plus a new Aman is coming to New York. Other major cities like Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, and, of course, resort areas like Hawaii do not offer Aman hotels. In these locations, Four Seasons often offer the best bet.

Having stayed at all of these brands, I know all these hotel chains have their merits, but there is no doubt that Aman Hotels offers some of the finest hotels, resorts, and residence clubs at each location.

The Best Way To Book An Aman Room

Staying at an Aman hotel requires deep pockets with entry room rates usually above $1000 USD per night. Aman does not have a loyalty program, probably because their wealthy and loyal guests keep returning anyway.

That said, benefits such as room upgrades, free breakfasts, discounts, deals, and credit to spend in the bar, restaurant, or spa are easy to get at Aman Hotels & Resorts if you know how. Book your next Aman stay via our concierge, and we can get you free loyalty-style benefits, room upgrades, and perks, usually for the same price as the Aman website, but the free benefits we offer are massively valuable.

How do we do this? Aman partners directly with a small number of high-end agencies, including our own luxury travel concierge, which means that we can share privileges at all Aman hotels and resorts with clients who make bookings with us.

As an example, when you would book a room for one night via the Aman website, this may cost you $1000 USD per night (excluding breakfast). When you book the same room via our concierge, this will cost you $1000 USD per night (identical), but our rate will include breakfast, early check-in / late check-out, a room upgrade, and a complimentary lunch for two.

Find Aman Hotels Promotional Offers & Deals

In addition to the perks and upgrades outlined above, there are deals at Aman hotels that can be found on the Aman hotel website exclusives offers page. The perks outlined above can also be combined with the Aman hotel benefits outlined above from our luxury travel concierge.

We particularly love the Amanyara on Turks & Caicos Islands, Amanemu and Amanerain the Dominican Republic.

Other great Aman hotels include Amankora, Bhutan, Amansara Angkor, Cambodia, Aman Summer Palace Beijing, China, Amanfayun Hangzhou, China, Amandayan Lijiang, China, Amanyangyun, Shanghai, China, Aman Villas At Nusa Dua Bali, Indonesia, Amandari Bali, Indonesia, Amankila Bali, Indonesia, Amanjiwo Java, Indonesia, Amanwana Moyo Island, Indonesia, Amanbagh Rajasthan, India, Aman-I-Khas Ranthambhore, India, Amanemu Shima-Shi, Japan, Aman Tokyo Tokyo, Japan, Amantaka Luang Prabang, Laos, Amangalla Galle, Sri Lanka, Amanwella, Tangalle, Sri Lanka, Amanpulo Pamalican Island, Philippines, Amanpuri Phuket, Thailand, Amanoi Ninh Thuan Province, Vietnam.

In America & the Caribbean, you will find Amanera Playa Grande, Dominican Republic, Amanvari Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, Amangiri Canyon Point, USA, and Amangani Jackson Hole, USA.

There will also soon be Amanvari in Baja Mexico (opening 2020) and of course, the soon to be open Aman New York (also due to open in 2020). These hotels may offer a good soft opening discount, which could be up to 50% off. For these hotels, get in touch, and we will notify you when Aman launches their opening rates.

Is There An Aman Loyalty Club I Can Join?

No, although they will send you an Amanjunkie t-shirt if you stay there enough, there is no official frequent flyer loyalty program. There are indeed ways to take advantage of loyalty style benefits, much like those that you would be gifted if you were the top tier of one of the big chain loyalty programs. In fact, you can take advantage of these loyalty style benefits from your very first stay. And Aman is not alone in this luxury loyalty offering. Most luxury hotels have hidden travel agent loyalty programs that give you free benefits if you book with the right Virtuoso or hotel partner agent like our very own concierge.

I have outlined the best luxury hotel loyalty programs that give you upgrades and free breakfast.

How About Aman Hotels In America?

Aman Hotels has an incredible resort in Utah named Amangiri. It is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious resorts on the American mainland and the setting, in the dramatic desert, is out of this world.

The desert in Utah offers some of the most remote wilderness in America. Experience the earth’s beauty at its most basic form in this red-rock, rugged desertscape.

Beyond the few pine-clad mountains, there’s little vegetation in this vast arid region. The unique rock formations have been sculpted by time, water, and wind. Visit the Arches National Park, the sheer-walled river gorges in the Canyonlands, and the stunning buttes and mesas of Monument Valley.

Stay At Amangiri

Amangiri Resort is your second reason to visit this stunning region. It is tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views towards the Grand Staircase.

The resort is built around a central swimming pool with spectacular views. Blending with its dramatic surrounds of deep canyons and towering plateaus, this wilderness escape could not be more rugged.

Amangiri’s Aman Spa features a floatation therapy pavilion, water pavilion with sauna, steam room, cold plunge and step pool, fitness center, and yoga pavilion. Amangiri’s trail system allows guests to explore the region’s striking desert scenery on foot.

In all honesty, this hotel is so popular that the offers page offers packages rather than any decent discount on the price of your stay. The main deal is to book with our concierge to get your free benefits. Beyond this, the only way to get cheaper rooms is to book at less popular times. That’s it.

Get To Amangiri

Amangiri is located in the southwest region of the United States, also known as the Four Corners, where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet. Surrounded by deep canyons and towering plateaus, the resort is approximately 25 minutes from Page Municipal Airport (PGA), which is the closest airport serving direct private jet flights.

Travel to the resort by commercial airline, by private jet, by car, and by helicopter (or a combination of any two methods). These methods cater to a variety of budgets, with commercial aviation and car transfer being the cheapest option and private jet and helicopter being a more glamorous but more expensive option.

Fly commercially & then Charter a Private Jet to Amangiri

If time is precious, whether you live on the East or West Coast of America, you can fly commercially on your preferred airline into Las Vegas. From there, charter a private plane to Page Municipal Airport in Page, Arizona, a 45-60 minute flight (depending on the aircraft category or model selected). Amanji will then coordinate ground transportation to and from Page Municipal Airport to Amangiri for a smooth transfer.

Fly commercially & then take a car transfer to Amangiri

A cheaper option that enables you to enjoy the dramatic landscape on the way is to fly into Las Vegas and then drive to Amangiri. The drive is about 4-4.5 hours, so make sure you rent a car with very reliable air conditioning.

If this sounds too long, rent a helicopter direct to Amangiri. Amangiri has its own helicopter landing pad, so guests can bypass the use of the local Page Municipal Airport altogether. This option also allows for spectacular views, but helicopters have very limited luggage capacity, so guests may need to transport their luggage separately at an additional cost. It is actually cheaper to charter a turboprop or private jet than a helicopter.

Best Time To Visit

Amangiri is brilliant all year round but probably best from April to October. April is beautiful, this is when the climate starts to warm up, and in May, it is beautifully warm (late May, the high is around 80). The best time to visit is based on what you want to do. Hiking is best in late April to early May or October when the weather is nice but you won’t melt as you stroll. As a rule of thumb, Spring and Fall enjoy mild days and cold nights, while the summer months from June to August are hot during the day and pleasant during the evening, ideal for making use of the spa and pools and sitting out at night. Winter is crisp and can be so cold that it might snow.

Why Amangiri?

The location is an incredible desert landscape, located between Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. Take in awe-inspiring views from the resort or on surrounding hikes. Nearby Lake Powell also offers superb opportunities for power boating, waterskiing, and kayaking.

Aman has designed this iconic resort to complement the desert landscape. It is stylish and so very Aman. Resorts don’t get more luxurious than this.

Arrival

A short drive from the nearby Lake Powell and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Amangiri sits next to the border between Arizona and Utah.

Amangiri is built from sandstone and delicately hued concrete to blend perfectly with America’s most iconic scenery. In fact, it almost disappears entirely into the rocky landscape. At a glance, you could almost miss it! Be careful not to drive right past the tiny signpost at the side of Highway 89. Follow the road until you reach a gate where you must ring an intercom to get them open. Carry on up the road, and you will eventually reach the hotel, which has been built into the rock.

Arrival is in the Pavilion, which houses the reception, dining rooms, and living space. We love the wood-burning fireplaces and extended sofas, all looking out onto the desert landscape. This is where you watch the sun go down over a delicious cocktail.

Rooms

There are two wings of rooms and suites, which all lead out into the desert. Thirty-four huge suites each have a private courtyard, bedroom, and living area, and glass doors that open onto a private terrace with a fireplace. Each suite has white stone floors and concrete walls and uses natural woods and throws to give an outdoors-inside feel. Bathrooms feature twin rain showers and a tub with a view out across the desert.

The best sunset views are from the Mesa View Suite, but we prefer the Terrace Pool Suites, which have a private pool. The Girijaala Suite is the top pick, with a huge sky lounge and private swimming pool.

Spa

Of course, the spa is a major highlight at this hotel. It spans 25,000 ft² and combines local stone, water features, and light, along with views and a range of treatments.

Pool

The swimming pool is like nothing I’ve ever seen, and it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Cut out of the surrounding rocks, sunken down to provide a suntrap that escapes the desert breeze and is surrounded by crisp white daybeds. The look is as sleek and stylish as it feels.

On colder evenings, you can warm up in the hot tub under the star-filled night skies or huddle around your own private firepit overlooking giant buttes.

Restaurants

The restaurant spills out onto the swimming pool area and offers excellent rustic food. It smells lovely in this area of the resort because of the wood-burning oven.

Breakfast and lunch are à la carte selections, and there is an excellent buffet. At night, simple wood-fired pizzas or local grilled meats are a delicious way to end the day. Drinks can be taken on the sunset lounge terrace, where guests can watch the sun setting over the orange rocks.

All stays booked via our concierge include all meals and soft drinks (but not alcoholic drinks), as well as a complimentary yoga or pilates class twice a day, as well as two guided hikes each day.

Hiking & Yoga

There are hundreds of hikes to take advantage of at the resort, from the direct hike from the resort to Broken Arrow Cave to joining a guide who will take you out on a hike, bike, or even rock climb. All are complimentary, along with the yoga sessions, which are relaxing and worth taking advantage of.

Amangiri offers day trips to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Zion National Parks at a cost.

Conclusion

Amangiri is just about perfect in every way. For the cheapest rates, you will want to stay in the low season (winter), although we would recommend staying in the spring or fall. Whenever you stay, expect to be blown away by the craggy canyons, the desert scenery, and the smiling faces of the staff.
