Flight Review: Economy On The New British Airways A320 Neo Plane

Book A Hotel

British Airways flew it’s first brand new A320neo aircraft, brand new from Airbus, this week. It looks as basic as we expected and although we have not personally reviewed this flight, we can share a picture from the Economy cabin that was originally shared on FlyerTalk. You can find out what Economy (or Coach) is like on other planes in our other British Airways Economy Class flight reviews.

The new seats look thin. They don’t recline and you have limited space in a 3×3 layout. Life is not much better upfront in European Business Class. The “new” Business Class seats are in fact the old design of reclining economy seats. They will not have the middle seat shelf between the seats. BA will instead simply not sell the middle seat so you will be able to put your stuff on this seat, but not your drinks and food if you are trying to work.

This is a big disadvantage for me. I use my Avios to buy Business Class flights on British Airways so I can work. I always put my laptop on the tray table and my drinks/snack on the shared centre shelf so that I can continue working.

Food-wise in Economy, you can take a look at the paid British Airways Spring menu.

If you want to try this new plane out this Summer 2018, it will be flying:

  • London Heathrow to Budapest
  • London Heathrow to Lisbon
  • London Heathrow to Madrid
  • London Heathrow to Warsaw
