Book A Hotel

The French Riviera, also known as the Cote D’Azur, is chic, stylish and packed full of luxury hotels. For hundreds of years, artists have been attracted to this magical region for the light and the European elite have been regulars, enjoying the warmth and sparkling blue waters on this iconic and expensive coastline.

The Luxury Travel Team also love the Côte d’Azur. The climate, the scenery, the sophistication and that French “Je ne sais quoi” charms us into returning at least twice a year. Out of season Monaco sparkles at Christmas (even though you don’t get snow you get great decorations!).

I have visited each of the luxury hotels below and recommend each and every one of them. Top of my list is the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat, where you can follow in the footsteps of Winston Churchill and Liza Minelli and sip a cocktail on the terrace to the sound of the live band. When you look out to sea, the pink flowers in the trees seem to contrast and then match the sky as the sun sets. I consider this hotel to be one of the best hotels in the world.

Other hotels in my list include the Hôtel Hermitage Monte Carlo which is the best hotel in Monaco and Chateau Eza which sits on the top of a very high mountain that drops straight down to the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.

You can’t really go wrong with any of my luxury hotel choices below as they are the best on the Cote D’Azur.

Best Luxury Hotels On The Cote D’Azur
Review: Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel

The best hotel on the French Riviera is the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel located near the small town of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Set in Belle Epoque splendor in a building that dates back to the 1800s, this ultra-luxury hotel offers everything you would expect of the very best Four Seasons hotel, but with a sprinkle of French chic. We most recently stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Cap-Ferrat, in April 2022.

Review: Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo, pronounced Hermitaaaaage by the French, is a Belle Époque dream built in the early 1900s and is one of the two best luxury hotels in Monte Carlo. It lies across the road from its only competition in Monaco, the Hotel De Paris, which recently underwent a huge refurbishment and rebuild. Both are fabulous hotels. For me, the Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo an easy choice. It's a more sophisticated and less glitzy choice in Monte Carlo. Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo is a 40 minute taxi ride from Nice airport (around €100 EUR in a taxi).

Review: Chateau Eza On The French Riviera

Eze is a medieval village perched at the top of a mountain and looking down upon the deep blue waters of the Cote D’Azur in France. At around 30 minutes from Nice airport by taxi, and sitting just west of Cap Ferrat, Eze is easy to get to but feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Cote D'Azur. Your taxi will drop you at the reception, which sits at the entrance of this enchanting village. This is where you leave your bags.

Review: Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa On The Cote D'Azur

Set along the coastline of the glittering Cote D'Azur in the South of France, the chic Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa sits in a rocky cove looking out upon the glittering Mediterranean. Tiara Miramar is an ideal base, located on the coastline between Cannes (just 7 miles away) and St Tropez, as well as being under a 2 hour drive from Nice Airport. Enjoy the bustle of these iconic cities, but escape in the evening to a private cove on the edge of the pretty village of Theole-sur-Mer.

Le Mas De Chastelas - A Secret Hideaway Near Saint-Tropez

Le Mas De Chastelas is a charming provencal style luxury boutique hotel near the beaches of Saint-Tropez. I reviewed this hotel in the summer of 2016. Have you ever dreamed of spending the summer in the most perfect Provencal mansion, with grape vines growing up the walls and entwined around the pergolas in the garden? Does this villa have a beautiful pool and a peaceful patio with such comfortable seating that you can lounge into the evening with a glass of wine watching the stars, other guests and the odd bird that flutters by? Well you have been dreaming of Le Mas De Chastelas.
