Is St. Regis or the Ritz-Carlton the best Marriott in Mexico City? While both are highly regarded for their luxurious offerings, they cater to slightly different tastes. Our favorite is the Four Seasons, as it feels like a lush floral escape from the endless concrete of this huge metropolis.

1. Best Location: St. Regis Vs. Ritz-Carlton Mexico City

Both hotels are situated along Paseo de la Reforma, making their locations highly desirable and central. St. Regis Mexico City is slightly closer to the heart of the city’s financial and cultural districts, offering more immediate access to bustling urban areas. The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City, enjoys a more scenic and slightly quieter section of the avenue, with direct views of Chapultepec Park.

If you prefer a location right amid the city’s action, with easy access to major landmarks and cultural sites, the St. Regis has the edge. The Ritz-Carlton is better if you value a slightly quieter, more scenic setting while still being close to key attractions.

2. Style & Character

St. Regis Mexico City offers contemporary sophistication with a touch of classic elegance in an urban setting. Its sleek and modern design features high-end finishes, bold colors, and luxurious materials. It is situated in a soaring skyscraper and consequently enjoys incredible views.

St. Regis is known for its bespoke service and attention to detail, epitomized by the signature St. Regis Butler Service. The ambiance is refined yet welcoming, catering to guests who appreciate personalized luxury and a cosmopolitan vibe. The hotel’s public spaces, such as the Astor Lounge and King Cole Bar, reflect a sophisticated and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for socializing and relaxation.

The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City features a more contemporary and minimalist style, with a focus on clean lines, neutral color palettes, and sophisticated design elements. The interiors are elegant and refined, emphasizing comfort and modern luxury with subtle nods to local culture through art and decor.

This upscale hotel offers a tranquil retreat in the bustling city. The public spaces, including the lobby lounge and rooftop bar, offer a serene and chic environment, ideal for relaxation and enjoying panoramic views of the city.

St. Regis Mexico City is a top choice if you appreciate personalized service, modern design with traditional touches, and a lively social scene. The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City focuses on contemporary elegance, views, and minimalism, perfect for those seeking a more tranquil, upscale retreat. If you would like a peaceful place to stay, consider the Four Seasons in Mexico City, too.

Which is best, Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis? Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis are both high-end brands under the Marriott umbrella. They share this elite spot with BVLGARI, EDITION, and The Luxury Collection. These brands occupy a 5-star luxury category, with room quality and size, service, restaurants, and the hotel as a whole offering an ultra-luxurious setting. There are currently 61 St. Regis hotels. There are 11 in North America, 2 in Africa, 24 in Asia, 6 in Central America and the Caribbean, 6 in Europe, and 10 in the Middle East.

3. Pools

The St. Regis Mexico City features an indoor swimming pool located on the 15th floor of the hotel. The pool area is elegantly appointed, with comfortable lounge chairs and plush towels. Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim or relax in the adjacent Jacuzzi while taking in the breathtaking vistas of Mexico City.

The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City boasts a super stylish indoor pool with a decked area to one side. The pool area is stunningly designed with modern furnishings, a minimalist look, and comfortable white loungers.

Both pools are small, and the lounger area is extremely limited. The Ritz-Carlton offers a couple of sofas, and the St Regis offers padded rattan chairs. We like the Jacuzzi by the window at the St Regis, so you can enjoy the epic views. We prefer the St. Regis on this front.

4. Spa

The spas at the St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton Mexico City offer luxurious wellness experiences, each with its own distinct charm and amenities. The Remède Spa at the St. Regis is renowned for its bespoke treatments and personalized service, providing a serene sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa features a range of holistic therapies, including massages, facials, and body treatments, all delivered in an elegant and tranquil setting.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers a modern and sophisticated wellness experience with a focus on holistic well-being and rejuvenation. 5. Rooms

The St. Regis Mexico City offers guests perfectly appointed hotel rooms and suites where you can relax, unwind, and indulge in privacy and style. An atmosphere of luxurious relaxation is achieved with warm grey tones, sumptuous textiles, and soft carpeting underfoot. Oversized floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to marvel at the breathtaking Mexico City skyline and provide ample natural light. These rooms are lovely and large, with the deluxe starting at 538 ft², but they feel fairly generic in decor.

The rooms at Ritz-Carlton Mexico City are ultra-minimalist and ultra-modern, with a range of whites in the fabrics and soft furnishings that I find reminiscent of a cloud! Wooden floors are softened by blue-cream rugs, and the metal skeleton that holds the building together can be seen as beams in many of the rooms, forming angled detailing that gives the room an unusual and solid feel. The standard rooms at the Ritz-Carlton are slightly smaller at 430 ft², but overall, we prefer their modern style. Pick a corner room for the best views.

6. The Club Floor

Ritz-Carlton Mexico City offers a brilliant club lounge. In fact, it’s the best club lounge in Mexico City. Ritz-Carlton club lounges are exceptional in any city. This one is open Sun-Sat 7:00 am – 10:00 pm, and offers five complimentary food offerings, including afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages with an honor bar. St. Regis does not offer a club lounge.

7. Food & Drink

At the St. Regis, guests can indulge in sophisticated Mexican flavors with a contemporary twist at Diana Restaurant, where innovative presentations and seasonal ingredients take center stage.

Meanwhile, at the Ritz-Carlton, enjoy fine dining at SAMOS Sabores Míos, where the menus are inspired by each corner of Mexico and create an experience that crosses the country from the center to the Pacific Coast through 3 gastronomic offerings during the day.

Whether savoring Mexican specialties at the St. Regis or exploring Mexican cuisine at the Ritz-Carlton, both hotels promise memorable dining experiences in elegant and stylish settings.

8. Price

Typically, the St. Regis Mexico City tends to be slightly more affordable compared to the Ritz-Carlton Mexico City. While both hotels offer luxurious accommodations and world-class amenities, St. Regis often positions itself at a slightly lower price point, making it a more accessible option for travelers seeking upscale luxury. Pricing can vary based on factors such as room type, season, and specific promotions.

Our favorite is the Four Seasons, as it feels like a lush floral escape from the endless concrete of this huge metropolis. Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City enjoys a prime location in the upscale neighborhood of Polanco, known for its vibrant culture, fine dining, and high-end shopping. Situated amidst tree-lined streets and elegant boulevards, Polanco offers a sophisticated atmosphere.

9. Conclusion

St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton both offer high-rise luxury with excellent service and facilities in Mexico City. The St. Regis has slightly larger rooms, but the hotel is found in a less modern building. The Ritz-Carlton offers up an ultra-modern, ultra-minimalist design that we love. Both hotels offer great views.

It’s worth mentioning that the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is best for those seeking classic elegance, serene surroundings, and a tranquil oasis-like setting in a low-rise building with an outdoor pool, an unusual feature for Mexico City.
