When comparing which is best, Hyatt Regency Vs. Hyatt Centric Vs. Hyatt Place Waikiki, it’s worth mentioning that none of the Waikiki Hyatts sits right on the beach. Hyatt Regency is closest and has ocean views from its towers, the Hyatt Regency is set across the road from the beach.

The advantage of staying in Waikiki is that you have the cheapest Hyatts in Hawaii here, so if you want to stay in Hawaii for the least points or the least $$$, Waikiki is the resort to choose.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa is the best Hyatt in Waikiki. Expect to pay in the region of $400 USD per night here.

The Hyatt Regency in Waikiki is an enormous 1,230-room resort spread across two 40-story tower blocks. It was built in the 1970s, and although the rooms have been refurbished, the place still feels like a skyscraper.

While this is the best located of the three hotels, it is not on the beach. It is across the road from the beach and lacks a personal feel. The pool here is very small and on a concrete roof, and it is not great. What it does have is very high towers with unobstructed views of the ocean. If you have a high-up ocean-view room, you will be blown away by the views of the Pacific.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa features in our best club lounges in Waikiki and the club lounge here is one of the best features of this property. This club lounge also features in our listing of the best club lounges in Hawaii and is a huge advantage for Globalist World Of Hyatt members as they get free access to this lounge, but all World of Hyatt Members can book a club room to access this lounge.

Best Hotel Executive Club Lounge In Hawaii
Best Hotel Executive Club Lounge In Hawaii

Which hotels in Hawaii offer the best executive club level lounges? We review lounges across Oahu, including Waikiki, Maui, Kaanapali, Kapalua, Wailea, Kauai, Poipu, and Hanalei, and the Big Island's picturesque Kona-Kohala coast. I have compiled a list below containing the best club lounges available across the best luxury hotels in Hawaii. I list the ones I consider to be the best at the top. I review each of these hotel club lounges in detail so you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access.

The lounge breakfast offers a nice selection of pastries, a charcuterie of meats and cheeses, along with fruit, including strawberries and melon, salads, salmon, and miso. If you are still hungry, there is toast and loads of fresh buns with a variety of jams and spreads.

Although this breakfast is not a patch of what you would expect from somewhere like the Four Seasons hotels, it still offers a fresh and expansive free buffet to fill you up in the morning.

During the day, soft drinks, including Pepsi and cans of other soft fizzy drinks like Schweppes, are available from a fridge. You can also pick up yogurts and loads of fruit juices, but there’s no bottled water to take away.

Once again, the evening food and beverage offering includes charcuterie of meats and cheeses, along with cold salads and soups. You can enjoy this food from the early evening, with desserts available later. I can quite easily munch my way through strips of cucumber, celery, carrots, peppers, and dips to keep me going, but to be honest. You may feel you still want to eat out after finishing in the lounge.

Interestingly, drinks containing alcohol are at extra cost, with beer costing around five dollars, a glass of wine five dollars, and cocktails six dollars. This is typical for a Hyatt Regency lounge in America, although in Europe and Asia, alcohol tends to be free within Hyatt club lounges. If you are still hungry, plenty of eateries are on the doorstep, including Subway and McDonald’s, a few steps away.

There is no kids club at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and, for me, the rather concrete pool area and the fact that you are across the road from the beach rather than being on the beach means that this Hyatt Regency is not the best hotel in Waikiki but it is one of the few hotels with a club lounge on Waikiki, so it is worth considering.

Which is the cheapest Hyatt hotel in Hawaii when paying in cash or for earning or spending your World Of Hyatt points? Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort vs. Grand Hyatt Kauai vs. Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa vs. Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa vs. Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach? The cheapest, both in cash and points, are in Waikiki, and while none of the Waikiki Hyatt options sits right on the beach. All three are a short walk from the beach.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is a great option but is quite a distance from the beach. The hotel is stylish, with modern rooms with plenty of space, a gym, and a decked pool area, although the pool is very shallow and lacks shade. It sits near shops and is an 8-minute walk from Waikiki Beach.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is smaller than the Hyatt Regency with just 230 rooms across 20 floors. Expect to pay in the region of $300 USD per night at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach or 20,000 in World of Hyatt points.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach feels more boutique than the Regency which just feels huge. The decor of the rooms at the Hyatt Centric is preferable to the Hyatt Regency, but the rooms lack balconies. All the rooms at the Hyatt Regency have balconies.

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach

Another good choice is Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, which has stunning city views, a small pool area flanked with loungers, and towels. Rooms have king-sized beds with an extended living area and a sofa bed ideal for families.

In terms of location, this Hyatt is slightly away from Waikiki’s main action, towards Diamond Head. It is a short walk from the beach. Expect to pay in the region of $300 USD per night here. It is very difficult to redeem World of Hyatt points here. We checked several different dates up to a year in advance and could not redeem our points.

Which is the best Hyatt hotel in Hawaii for earning or spending your World Of Hyatt points? Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort vs. Grand Hyatt Kauai vs. Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa vs. Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa vs. Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach? Best For Views: Hana-Maui Resort and Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Ocean View Rooms (pictured above) Best For Beach: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa and the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort Best For Pools: Grand Hyatt Kauai followed by the Hyatt Regency Maui.

The two Hyatts on Maui and the Hyatt on Kauai are much better Hyatt hotels. They are proper resorts, and both are directly on the beach. This Hyatt is more of a city hotel and consequently is not such a relaxing place to beach or to bring kids.
