Book A Hotel

St. Pancras Renaissance is one of the best Marriott subsidiary hotels in London with an executive club lounge. While the lounge here is very good, the hotel is quite far from the tourist sites if you like to walk.

Remember to book any luxury hotels via our luxury travel concierge for extra free benefits. You also get all your usual Marriott Bonvoy points and perks when you book via our concierge.

Location

St. Pancras station is renowned for its incredible Victorian architecture. The movie Harry Potter featured Platform Nine and a Half, which was meant to be at Kings Cross Station, but many external shots of Kings Cross Station actually used St Pancras Station because of its architecture.

The station’s interior has been inspirationally and sympathetically modernized to include St Pancras International, where the Eurostar leaves for Paris. This station also houses the St Pancras Renaissance in its beautiful Victorian buildings.

Style & Character

The St Pancras Renaissance hotel has two separate wings. The modern Barlow wing and the historic Chambers wing. The Chambers Club lounge is within the Chambers wing and can be accessed for free by Titanium but not Platinum Marriott Bonvoy elite members.

All guests that pay the premium to stay in the Chambers wing also get “free” access to the Chambers Club, although obviously, they have already paid the premium to stay in the wing, so they have, in effect, paid for the lounge. If you book the Barlow wing, you will only get club lounge access if you are a Marriott Titanium and Ambassador elite guest.

Marriott Platinum elites apparently do not get free lounge access; instead, they get free breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

How is the lounge here? While it is definitely worth having and comes with a decent spread of food, we personally find the red walls oppressive and the Victorian architecture overwhelming in this part of the hotel, so it isn’t our favorite club lounge in London.

What is the best club or executive lounge in the top luxury hotels across London? The club lounge at the InterContinental London has the best club lounge for views (pictured above), and the Langham hosts the best club lounge for food in London. Book a standard room at the InterContinental London Park Lane via our luxury travel concierge (rates tend to range from £400 GBP to £600 GBP depending on the day and the season), and you will get a guaranteed room upgrade and Club Lounge access free. This has got to be one of the best hotel deals in London!

Food & Drink

The breakfast each morning is excellent, with a large buffet and some hot items, including eggs and sausages. You can also order made-to-order eggs or omelets at no extra cost, and the staff will deliver the eggs and drinks to your table.

Afternoon tea consists of sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and scones with jam and cream, as well as drinks, including English tea!

There is beer, wine, spirits, and canapés in the evening.

If you’re a travel nerd like me, there’s a special treat at this hotel. You can book a room that looks inwards over the station so you can see the trains coming and going and the people milling around the station platforms.

Conclusion

If you are arriving from or leaving for the Eurostar, this hotel is perfectly positioned and bursting with character. It is not so well located for tourist sites or walking in London’s parks or down the River Thames. For those joys, you need to hop on a tube.

Its club lounge is well worth having, but I was left feeling overwhelmed by the slightly dated, deep red walls, so this Marriott subsidiary hotel and club lounge does not come at the top of our list of the best club lounges in London.

The InterContinental club lounge has better views, and the Langham club lounge has better food so there are better options. However, at this price point, this is a good choice.
