Book A Hotel

We’ve already outlined the best Marriott Hotels in Hawaii and the best Marriott in Maui. Now, we focus on the cheapest Marriott Hotels in Hawaii, specifically the cheapest Marriott in Maui for couples and for families.

The cheapest Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Maui are:

We exclude poorly located Marriott hotels or Marriotts that would be awful for a leisure stay. The prices in this article are based on a stay of 16-20 July 2024. Rates were correct at the time of writing.

For something completely different and ultra-luxury, we have reviewed the best Four Seasons hotels in Hawaii if your budget can stretch a bit further. Another great hotel in Hawaii, which is not Marriott, is Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort. This hotel is on Big Island. This one is also worth splashing out for.

Because all the hotels listed below are Marriott subsidiary brands, you can earn and spend Marriott Bonvoy loyalty points when you stay. Marriott has this significant advantage over Four Seasons hotels as Four Seasons hotels have no loyalty rewards.

Read on to find out more about each Marriott hotel, and remember to book any luxury hotels via our luxury travel concierge for extra free benefits. You also get all your usual Marriott Bonvoy points and perks when you book via our concierge.

1. Courtyard Maui Kahului Airport

Courtyard Maui Kahului Airport
Courtyard Maui Kahului Airport is a fairly drab airport hotel. It’s not near the beaches but is the cheapest Marriott on Maui with a pool.

There’s a free shuttle service to and from Kahului Airport, and “The Bistro” offers energizing breakfast options, handcrafted cocktails for dinner, and a 24-hour fitness center.

This airport hotel costs 70.500 Marriott Bonvoy points per night on redemption or $434 USD per night and is the cheapest Marriott in Maui, but it’s not an inspiring airport hotel and is not somewhere a luxury traveler would want to stay for more than one night.

2. AC Hotel by Marriott Maui Wailea

AC Hotel by Marriott Maui Wailea has modern rooms with wooden floors and wonderful panoramic views of the coastline. Communal areas are wonderfully stylish with large cream lighting installations, lots of natural woods, and oatmeal furnishings, offering a great place to hang out.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Wailea, where it’s sunny year-round. You have great access to the luxurious boutiques, diverse dining options, and renowned art galleries at the Shops of Wailea.

Stay active while working or playing in the modern fitness center and tennis courts while enjoying gorgeous vistas from every hole at nearby championship-level golf courses.

Take in the coastline from the hotel’s infinity pool, made better with expertly crafted cocktails from the pool bar and a long firepit where you can enjoy your crafted drinks as the sun sets.

This hotel is some way from the beach, so although you can take in the coastal views and see the sea from many of the rooms and the pool, you can’t step out of bed and onto the beach here, I’m afraid. Hence, the price of this hotel is the second cheapest in Maui.

If you are redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points here, you’ll need to spend from 68,000 points per night, which is more affordable in points than the inferior Courtyard above, and for cash, this hotel costs a cheap (for Maui!) $595 USD per night. We think this is the best cheap Marriott in Maui because the communal areas are so lovely, but you’ll need a car to get to the beach.

3. Residence Inn Maui Wailea

Residence Inn Maui Wailea is a modern extended-stay hotel near Wailea Blue Golf Course, Kihei Town, Ulua and Wailea Beach.

Usefully, there’s a complimentary shuttle service to the Wailea Resort Area, so you don’t need a car to get to the beach or to get to local dining and shopping at the Shops at Wailea.

A stay here includes a complimentary breakfast that features healthy, classic favorites. The hotel bar offers curated cocktails and scenic views of the Pacific, and pet-friendly suites feature ocean-inspired designs and plush beds.

This hotel in Wailea, Maui, has kitchenettes, including a refrigerator, microwave, and stovetop, making it perfect for self-catering. They even offer complimentary grocery shopping services.

This extended-stay residence in Maui has a big freeform pool with wonderful coastal views, but the communal areas feel a little dated. We prefer the look of the AC Hotel by Marriott Maui Wailea. However, the convenience of self-catering and larger suites means this remains an excellent choice if you want a long stay or are on a budget.

Staying here costs from 68,000 points per night or $687 USD per night in July.

4. Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is right on the beach! Voted Best Hotel in Hawaii in USATODAY’s 10Best 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is an oceanfront oasis situated on the most prime expanse of Kaanapali Beach, where Puu Kekaa (Black Rock) meets the Pacific.

The natural cove fronting Sheraton Maui is a favorite snorkel location for encountering honu (green sea turtles). During winter months, watch as humpback whales breach offshore. Experience the best hotel in Hawaii on 23 acres at Kaanapali Beach.

Because this hotel is partly on the headland, oceanfront rooms have incredible views and almost hang over the ocean on the clifftop. The sunsets are amazing, and all rooms have balconies.

This is the cheapest Marriott hotel on Kaanapali Beach and costs from 90,500 points per night on redemption and $858 USD for cash if you book a stay here.

5. The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapal i and The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas both come in at the same price in point redemptions and when spending your cash and they are both up the beach from the cheaper Sheraton featured above.

Enjoy whale watching, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, and scuba diving just steps away. Enjoy sparkling resort pools and waterfalls, three distinctive restaurants on the property, and two on-site markets providing a range of sundries, snacks, and supplies. The Business Center offers fully equipped computers and internet access, and you will find the outdoor gas grills at our Maui resort near Ka’anapali, which are perfectly situated for sunset barbecues.

The price is higher than the Sheraton but cheaper than the most expensive luxury hotels in Maui. Marriott Bonvoy redemptions start at 72,250 points per night, which is cheaper than the Sheraton above, but for cash, it is more expensive at $904 USD per night.

6. Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui

We love the Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui and have compared Wailea Beach Resort Vs. Ritz-Carlton if you are trying to choose between these two.

The Wailea Beach Resort by Marriott is a stunning resort that has been recently refurbished and is on the headland to one side of the beach that hosts the Four Seasons Maui which is one of the best Four Seasons in the world, and the Waldorf Astoria is also on this same beach. All 3 of these iconic hotels use different patches of the same beach, and if you carry on up the oceanside boardwalk, you will eventually come to the Fairmont in the next cove.

Highlights of this hotel are the stunning decor, the gorgeous pool, the amazing kid’s slides and pools, and the setting on this peninsula, which is perfect for sunsets. The downsides are the base rooms are towards the back of this expansive resort, so it can be quite a walk in the heat of the day to get to the pools and the beach, and even worse, an uphill walk back to your room, so bear this in mind when you consider which room to book.

That said, we love this hotel, and it comes highly recommended by us and by our clients from our concierge who enjoy free breakfasts, resort credit, and more here. Contact our agents to find out how to get these perks.

We think the price is cheap for a brilliant Marriott in the best resort area of Maui and it is usually cheaper than the other resorts in this area. You can redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points for 65,500 points per night. This is the best Marriott redemption in Hawaii. If you are paying with cash, the cost in July is $936 USD per room per night.

7. The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua is jointly the best Marriott hotel in Maui with Wailea Beach Resort. We have compared the Ritz-Carlton Maui Vs. Wailea Beach Resort if you’re trying to decide between the two.

The locations of these two hotels are completely different, and each has its own advantages. We prefer the location of the Wailea Beach Resort by Marriott, and it is usually a better choice than the Ritz-Carlton for families because of the slide area and the calm beach. But the Riz-Carlton has gorgeous resort grounds, the best club lounge in Hawaii, in fact it’s one of the best club lounges in the world! It also has a more peaceful atmosphere and great golf.

The redemption cost is the most expensive of any Maui hotel at 126,000 points per room per night. If you are paying, room rates in July start at $1,491 USD per room per night, making this the most expensive Marriott subsidiary in Maui and possibly in the whole of Hawaii, but this resort is luxurious and stunning and is definitely worth visiting.
