Book A Hotel

Bucharest, the capital of Romania, offers several hotels with executive club lounges that cater to guests seeking additional amenities. While these club lounges don’t make it into our listing of the best club lounges in the world, if you are traveling to Bucharest, all the below lounges are worth considering.

1. JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel

Location: 90 Calea 13 Septembrie, Bucharest 050726, Romania.
The JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel is known for its upscale amenities. The executive lounge at this hotel comes joint first with the InterContinental club lounge and provides personalized service, complimentary refreshments, and a comfortable space to work or relax. Guests on the executive floors have access to this lounge.

The JW Marriott Bucharest executive lounge is located on the eighth floor and is open daily from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Much like the InterContinental club lounge above, breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30 am, afternoon tea is served from 3:00 to 5:30 pm, and evening happy hour and snacks are served from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with the bar, which serves alcoholic drinks open from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

This is a classy lounge that stays relatively quiet. It has a natural feel, with wood flooring on the food side and oatmeal carpeting towards the large windows. There’s a cafe-style seating area to one side of the lounge and comfy sofa seats to the other, with a partially see-through partition separating the two areas.

Afternoon tea includes some delicious cakes, whole fruit, and nuts, but it is not as good as the afternoon tea at most InterContinental hotels. The evening meal is a mix of quiches, mini canapes, and a big bowl of salad.

There are also three hot dishes that you can help yourself from big saucepan-style bowls, which would be more than enough to fill you up. The evening food tends to be more generous at the JW Marriott club lounges than InterContinental hotel club lounges.

Club guests have breakfast in the restaurant rather than the lounge. Restaurant breakfasts have a more generous food offering than club lounges, so this restaurant breakfast offering is an extra reason to choose the JW Marriott over the InterContinental below, which offers an excellent breakfast but one that is not as extensive as that provided here.

2. InterContinental Bucharest

Location: 4 Nicolae Bălcescu Blvd, Bucharest 010051, Romania.
The InterContinental Bucharest is a luxurious hotel located in the city center. InterContinental executive club lounges are often the best in a city, but in Bucharest, this lounge comes slightly below the JW Marriott club lounge because the food is better in the JW Marriott lounge.

The InterContinental club lounge does, however, provide stunning views of the city, much like the InterContinental London club lounge which we have reviewed in detail. If you have access to this Bucharest club lounge, you can enjoy complimentary gourmet breakfast, drinks, snacks, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails with canapés. In Bucharest, you can also access an outdoor terrace and a private meeting room.

This elegant and sophisticated club lounge design creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The luxurious nature of this lounge is why we have listed it in position one. In terms of timings, breakfast is 06:30 to 10:30 am during the week and 07:00 to 11:30 am during weekends and bank holidays. Afternoon tea is always very good at InterContinental hotels and is served from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Hot appetizers and alcoholic drinks are served from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

From our experience in the London club lounge, breakfast is usually generous and extensive, as is the afternoon tea, but the evening cocktails tend to offer quite meager canapes, not really enough for a full evening meal. However, the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink offering tends to be pretty much unlimited during the happy hour times.

3. Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest

Location: 1-3 Episcopiei St, Bucharest 010292, Romania.
The Athénée Palace Hilton is a historic and prestigious hotel. The executive lounge offers a refined atmosphere with complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening snacks. Guests on the executive floors have access to this exclusive space.

This Hilton and the Sheraton below offer good club lounges but are less luxurious and generous than the lounges at the JW Marriott and the InterContinental above.

4. Sheraton Bucharest Hotel

Location: 5-7 Calea Dorobanților, Bucharest 010551, Romania.
The Sheraton Bucharest Hotel provides a modern and comfortable stay. The Club Lounge offers executive floor guests a private space with complimentary breakfast, snacks, and evening drinks. It’s an ideal place for both work and relaxation.

5. Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest

Location: Calea Victoriei 63-81, Bucharest 010065, Romania.
The Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest is known for its contemporary design. The executive lounge provides a stylish setting for guests on executive floors, offering complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, and evening cocktails.
