Nova Scotia, Latin for “New Scotland,” is a truly stunning part of the world that is well-deserving of any bucket list position. With over 8,000 miles of stunning coastline, you’re always close to the ocean. The area also boasts an impressive 12 whale species and the Bay of Fundy, home to the world’s highest tides!

If you prefer woodlands to waterways, then why not discover fairies at Kejimkujik National Park with its lush forests, meandering rivers, and you can lose yourself in the tranquility of its island-dotted lakes. If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat, then drop into Halifax, Nova Scotia’s vibrant capital city with its waterfront, which is the most visited destination in all of Nova Scotia. Here, you can stroll the waterfront boardwalk, which spans over two miles from the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to Casino Nova Scotia. Along the way, explore museums and charming boutiques, savor delectable dishes at waterfront eateries, and even embark on a harbor tour for a deeper connection with the maritime charm. For a change of scenery, hop on a ferry to Dartmouth and cap off your day on a cozy patio, basking in the warm glow of the sunset over the glistening harbor. And if all this isn’t enough, their food and drink are something special too, with Nova Scotia’s world-famous lobster and their Tidal Bay wines, the only place on earth to produce them.

If this all sounds appealing, then a one-of-a-kind cottage stay at Lindsay Lake Farms, nestled in the Canadian wilderness might be just what you’re after.

Style & Character

Lindsay Lake Farms was bought by Christiane & Jan in 2019, having run their own farming business in Germany since 1997. For nearly 25 years, they’ve worked in forestry, farming, butchering, and catering, and it was a lifelong dream to move to Canada, where they now reside with their two children, Ian and Cedric.

Their commitment to sustainable and responsible farming is evident, treating their land as a cherished partner to be nurtured rather than exploited. The Teerling family, at the heart of Lindsay Lake Farms, believes in the transformative power of good food—uniting people, forging memories, and nourishing the soul. From crafting German-inspired meals and specialty breads at their home bakery to the upcoming launch of a kitchen and farm store in the heart of middle Musquodoboit, their culinary passion knows no bounds.
