Book A Stay

Joining the prestigious Park Hyatt Zurich and Widder Hotel Zurich, both of which we have reviewed, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will be one of the best hotels in Zurich.

It will open its doors this winter following a complete multi-million-dollar renovation, bringing Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service to the city’s heart.

Location

Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located on the famous Paradeplatz. The hotel lies midway between the park Hyatt and the Widder Hotel and is right in the center of the action. It’s just steps away from high-end fashion houses, the historic old town, and the charming promenade leading to Lake Zurich.

Style & Character

Founded by Johannes Baur in 1838, this iconic property was Zurich’s first grand hotel. Created by respected Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer, the beautifully curated interiors merge historical details with modern style, using a carefully selected color palette mirroring the hotel’s surroundings.

Rooms

Many of the 44 rooms and 36 suites offer balconies, terraces, or private rooftops, presenting stunning views of the city’s landmarks and the Swiss Alps. All are beautifully finished with thick, luxurious rugs and a hint of the Orient. Interestingly, this hotel offers single rooms, which may suit the many business travelers in Zurich.

Service & Facilities

Much like the Mandarin Oriental Geneva which we have also reviewed. There are not a huge number of facilities at this hotel beyond the eateries. There is no pool, and there is, as yet, no mention of a gym, although some Mandarin Oriental hotels, like the Mandarin Oriental London Hyde Park, have both.

Food & Drink

The property features several restaurants, including the fine-dining Italian restaurant Orsini and the glamorous, French-inspired Savoy Brasserie & Bar. Guests can also unwind in the refined Mandarin Lounge or enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the new 1838 rooftop bar with a choice of mouth-watering Asian delights.

Conclusion

With a brilliant location, brand-new rooms, and some of the largest hotel suites in the city, this Mandarin Oriental is an attractive proposition in Zurich and well worth considering. Book via our luxury travel concierge for extra benefits here.
