Book A Stay

Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is a five-star beach hotel nestled on a picturesque Caribbean island surrounded by the gorgeous “Arrecifes de Cozumel” marine park, home to one of the planet’s most impressive coral reef systems.

Location

Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea, about 10 miles (16 km) off the eastern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in southeastern Mexico. Because of its location, you can enjoy year-round sunshine and warmth. October to January and May to July tend to be more wet and muggy, while November to April are hot and dry. The hotel is around a 15-minute drive from the airport, which costs around $20 USD in a taxi.

Style & Character

Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is situated in a beautiful beachfront setting. The gardens are green, peaceful, and well-manicured, offering a huge chess set and large firepits with plenty of seating. At night, these extensive grounds offer a fantastic setting for a stroll, with the lights reflecting off the sea and pool.

The resort sprays the grounds for mosquitos, and there’s a hawk to frighten away the birds, so pests are not reported to be a problem here.

Rooms

The hotel offers 221 well-appointed guest rooms and suites. If your budget allows, splurge on a ground-floor beachfront room or suite. All suites overlook the mesmerizing Caribbean Sea and boast private terraces or balconies. Some of the suites offer plunge pools, and the beachfront location can’t be beaten.

Their brand new 735 ft² beautifully appointed suites are a brilliant choice and offer spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. You can choose between one King or two Queen size beds and these suites feature Mexican contemporary furniture, Egyptian cotton duvets, 55 inches Smart TV, Bang & Olufsen speaker alarm, in-room safe, Nespresso coffeemaker, complimentary minibar, hair dryer, vanity mirror, bathrobes and slippers. These suites also have a living room area with an ocean view, a spacious bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, and an oversized bathtub overlooking the ocean. There’s an ocean-view terrace with a day bed and seating area to enjoy, too.

Service & Facilities

Hotel facilities include lush tropical gardens with a pool and tennis courts and a half mile of private white sandy beach. The main beachside pool is an infinity pool, which is beautifully lit at night. There’s also a hot tub for lounging in.

The resort also enjoys a 24-hour business center, 24-hour fitness center, and the acclaimed Scuba Du 5 Star PADI dive center, offering daily reef diving and snorkeling trips with expert instructors. The Ikal Spa offers treatments entwined with Traditional Mayan Rituals and features state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, Polar Pool, Sauna, Steam Room, Beauty Salon, and Temazcal.

Beyond the resort, Nacho Surf School advertises great surfing a 20 min drive away.

Food & Drink

Guests can savor gourmet Mexican, International, authentic Italian or contemporary Mediterranean cuisine in one of the hotel’s four restaurants.

Beachside, you have Le Cap restaurant, which offers sushi and seafood light bites and has a boutique feel. The main and larger restaurant is open air with authentic thatched roof. This is where you can enjoy the generous breakfast buffet along with lunch and dinner. This eatery offers magnificent views.

There is a small bar with a super guitarist in the evening and an oceanfront lounge with fairy lights and comfy lounge chairs set around tables on the ocean’s edge.

Conclusion

Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is a gorgeous beach resort close to the airport and ideally positioned for stunning sunsets. For the perfect stay, pick a ground-floor beachfront room so you can step right out from your veranda and onto the soft, white sand.
