Book A Stay

Hidden behind a lush grove of bamboo lies the Hyatt Regency Kyoto, located right in the heart of Kyoto, Japan. Surrounded by the elegance of the old capital in Higashiyama Shichijo, guests can immerse themselves in Japanese culture.

Location

Located in the heart of Higashiyama, Kyoto, the Hyatt Regency Kyoto is just a few minutes’ walk to many major sites in Kyoto. The hotel can be found on the south side of the river, so you can walk the riverside path into downtown, which takes around half an hour. The hotel is also a short walk from all the Kyoto sites, shrines, and temples and around a quarter of an hour’s walk from Kyoto station.

Style & Character

The foyer of this hotel is particularly outstanding, with lots of wooden latticework on the walls and a striking and grand circular staircase in the center of the area. The feeling is minimalist and zen but with plenty of detailing to stop the room from feeling stark.

Rooms

187 stylish and sleek guestrooms are designed in minimalist but warm woods. Bright strips of what looks like uplifting wrapping paper (they are actually kimono tapestries) coat the wall behind the bed in each room, making the bedrooms feel joyous and almost festive.

Service & Facilities

Hotel amenities include the RIRAKU Spa offering a range of results-oriented Eastern and Western treatments incorporating: Shiatsu, acupuncture, moxibustion, and aromatherapy. The 24-hour Fitness Centre features a gym with a full range of the latest exercise equipment, as well as saunas (steam for women, dry for men), a whirlpool bath, showers, vanity areas, and lounges. The hotel also offers business and event facilities, a Japanese garden, secure parking facilities, multilingual staff, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests also benefit from a complimentary one-way taxi ride from JR Kyoto Station between 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Food & Drink

There is no Regency Club Lounge at Hyatt Regency Kyoto. Hyatt Globalists get breakfast in the main restaurant, The Grill. This is a western-style breakfast buffet and includes salads and fresh juices, plus there is hot food cooked to order. At lunchtime and in the evenings, guests can enjoy one of the three high-quality restaurants serving seasonal international cuisines, Italian dishes, and Japanese specialties, not forgetting the delicious Pastry Boutique serving original cake and baked treats. Guests can also visit the Touzan Bar, which offers a variety of high-quality Japanese whiskies and cocktails, local Kyoto beers, and more than 30 different kinds of premium sakes.
