We review hotels in Salt Lake City in Utah with the best club or executive lounges. The Hilton and Marriott City Creek both have executive club lounges, are in a similar location, and are older properties that have been renovated. The Marriott City Center is your best hotel with a club lounge.

1. Salt Lake City Marriott City Center

Salt Lake City Marriott City Center is one of the best hotels in Salt Lake City. It has a great club lounge that is closed on the weekends.

Because this hotel was recently refurbished, it has an inviting ambiance. Newly renovated guest rooms and suites deliver stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains or Gallivan Plaza, free Wi-Fi, marble bathrooms, and plush bedding, with access to an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, and 24/7 fitness center.

La Bella Piastra is the signature Italian restaurant, and the lobby lounge offers a relaxing setting for cocktails. Salt Lake City Marriott City Center also offers a great location for nearby restaurants. You just need to ask the concierge which direction to walk for Asian, sushi, and steak restaurants.

At one of the top Salt Lake City Airport hotels, you’re within walking distance to almost everything downtown, including top attractions like Temple Square, Gallivan Plaza, and the Salt Palace Convention Center.

There is debate about whether this newer hotel or the older Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek is better. Some guests prefer the pool area and restaurant at the Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek. The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek also has a slightly better location across from the convention center (if this is where you are heading) than the City Center Marriott.

But there is a caveat, the Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown at City Creek is an older style Marriott hotel. If you want something more modern, go for the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center, or pick whichever is cheaper, as they are both good, but neither is outstanding. If you plan to use the pool, stay at the older hotel. That said, the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center has a super gym.

2. Marriott Downtown at City Creek, Salt Lake City

Marriott Downtown at City Creek, Salt Lake City is good but older hotel with an executive club lounge that is closed on weekends.

Take some time to relax at Destinations Lounge, where high ceilings, cozy seating, and modern décor create an inviting space to connect with free Wi-Fi or over cocktails and craft beers. The Salt Stone restaurant offers all-day and in-room dining.

A state-of-the-art gym, excellent pool, and onsite Starbucks® coffee and freshly made treats give this hotel the edge in many ways. Rooms offer inspiring views of the city or mountains and for an even more enjoyable experience, upgrade to a Concierge Level room with Lounge access.

3. Hilton Salt Lake City Center

Towering over Temple Street is the 18-floor Hilton Salt Lake City Center. Located in central downtown, you are near Salt Lake Temple, the landmark Capitol and Eccles Theater. Hike City Creek Canyon Historic District and indulge in downtown’s trendy food-and-drink scenes. Easy access to the TRAX train system makes exploring the city affordable and convenient.

Executive rooms with one king- or two queen-sized beds have an additional 100 sq. ft. of space and are located on the upper floors. Book one of these, and you can enjoy key access to the private 18th-floor lounge overlooking the Great Salt Lake. Start your day with a complimentary continental breakfast or relax in the evening with hors d’oeuvres. Enjoy complimentary soft drinks, water, and coffee all day, and in the evening, beer and cocktails are available for purchase. Enjoy little extras in your executive room, too, including bottled water, waffle weave bathrobes, and premium bath amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, mouthwash, face, and body soap).

4. Salt Lake City Marriott University Park

The Salt Lake City Marriott University Park has been newly renovated and offers gorgeous mountain and city views, full modern amenities, and an excellent location adjacent to the University of Utah and Rice-Eccles Stadium. There are two on-site restaurants, Thistle & Thyme and Wakara Bar, and a full-service Starbucks, a complimentary local shuttle, free parking, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

This hotel also has a good pool and an atrium or greenhouse feel with lots of big windows looking out over the outdoors. On weekends Golds and Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members get free breakfast from the main buffet. The breakfast spread is amazing. If you have booked the club lounge, the staff currently let you go into the restaurant next door and take what you like from the full buffet there. Lounge snacks include soft drinks, mixes, fruit, and granola bars. In the evening, the lounge has a small selection of tasty appetizers.

5. Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel

Sheraton Salt Lake City hotel is the cheapest Marriott Bonvoy hotel in this club lounge listing. Situated in the beating heart of the downtown business and entertainment districts, Sheraton Salt Lake City offers accommodations with flat-screen TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and room service.

Greet the day with specialty coffee beverages at the full-service Starbucks® and savor distinctive fare at the inviting hotel restaurant. Go for a swim in the sparkling outdoor pool and a workout in the well-equipped fitness center.

The Sheraton Executive Club is located on the 10th floor. The breakfast buffet is decent, and there are evening light bites as well as drinks throughout the day and snacks, but the best club lounges are at the hotels higher up in this listing.
