The island is home to many luxury beach resorts, spas, and restaurants.

We have picked the 10 best honeymoon hotels and resorts in Phuket, which combine stunning sunsets with Asian adventure and hospitality.

1. Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket is a truly exceptional resort and one of the best resorts in Phuket to spend your honeymoon. It is deeply romantic and has some of the best pool villas in Thailand. This private paradise of luxurious all-pool villas is nestled around a saltwater lagoon and is surrounded by lush greenery. It is a dreamy hideaway, an ideal Golf Getaway, and an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful island with its heritage, culture, and stunning beaches. Located on the shores of Bang Tao Bay in the northwest of Phuket island in Southern Thailand, Banyan Tree Phuket is just a 20-minute drive from Phuket International Airport and a 25-minute drive from Phuket town. It is part of Laguna Phuket, which consists of five luxury hotels, six palm-fringed lagoons, 600 acres of parkland, three kilometers of pristine beach, and an outstanding array of recreational and dining facilities.

Arranged in the style of a tranquil Thai village, the resort’s stunning villas surround a sparkling lagoon and feature an open-air bath and a private sundeck with a jet pool or private swimming pool.

Banyan Pool Villas offer a serene setting in landscaped gardens, while the Banyan Lagoon Pool Villas overlook the tranquil lagoon.

This tropical fairytale sits to the side of Bang Tao Bay, which always sparkles. Facilities include swimming pools, 3 km of sandy shores, a championship 18-hole golf course, and a choice of five sumptuous dining restaurants. Try dinner on a long-tail boat in the middle of the lagoon for a truly enchanting honeymoon experience.

2. Amanpuri Phuket

It is no secret that I love Aman Hotels. You can read about my trip to Aman Grand Canale Venice which was also utterly romantic. Amanpuri Phuket is another completely romantic Aman hotel, but this Aman is tucked away in Surin beach, alongside the holiday homes of the rich and famous on Phuket. The beach can only be reached via the hotel or by boat, keeping it almost completely private.

A towering Thai pavilion sits at the Amanpuri’s center, fringed by lush jungle and facing a vast black-tiled swimming pool with a glorious view of the Andaman Sea. A stone staircase leads to Pansea Beach, a rustic-chic restaurant, more swimming pools, a watersports center, and tennis courts. An excellent spa is tucked away on the other side of the resort, overlooking Bang Tao Beach.

Amanpuri’s rooms exude Thai elegance. Garden pavilions are secluded, with a walled garden, sunken bath, and outdoor shower. Pavilions 103 and 105 have the most striking sea views. Pick a Garden Pool Pavilion for utterly private dips in your own plunge pool.

3. Anantara Layan Phuket Resort

Anantara Layan Phuket Resort is a romantic tropical sanctuary in a tranquil bay setting on Phuket’s stunning western coast. This breathtaking luxury hotel in Phuket is ideal for your honeymoon, and it opens onto a private stretch of beautiful Layan Beach, where soft white sands are gently lapped by the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea.

Plunge into a new adventure with thrilling and relaxing water sports. Explore Phuket’s bountiful natural and cultural wonders with a range of land and sea excursions. Return to unwind into signature Anantara Spa journeys and toast magical sunsets. While some of Phuket’s finest dining experiences await your discovery without ever leaving the resort.

4. Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas

Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas offer a peaceful retreat on the north-western tip of Phuket. The resort is inspired by traditional wooden houses from southern Thai villages, which nestle in a series of lagoons that flow through the Bill Bentley-designed gardens.

Each of the villas houses spectacular private pools with inset baths, a large wooden deck, and at least one sala for entertaining. High wooden walls with large shuttered windows offer plenty of privacy for honeymooners. When open, these windows have tranquil views across the waters that are dotted with lotus flowers.

A host of dining options are available for guests, whether they prefer the privacy of their own villa or choose a favorite locale within the resort for a romantic Dining by Design experience, Sea.Fire.Salt the beach-fronted seafood restaurant or La Sala for some spicy Indian or Thai fare.

Seemingly endless experiences can be arranged for guests, from cycling tours around a beautiful lake and the shores of the Andaman Sea, visiting an ethical elephant sanctuary, or being pampered in the spa.

Spend lazy days at the beachfront infinity pool or try some adventurous watersports. You will find plenty to do at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas.

5. Six Senses Yao Noi

Six Senses Yao Noi, Phuket is one of the most luxurious resorts in Asia with a price tag to match. 56 pool villas will appeal to your inner child. They feel like you are staying in a luxury treehouse.

Perched on a cliffside, with jaw-dropping views over Phang Nga Bay’s fantastical limestone pinnacles, these rustic villas with palm-leaf roofs provide generous personal space and utter luxury.

Also on offer is a superb Six Senses Spa. Having tried a few treatments at the Six Senses in Puente Romano in Marbella, I can vouch that Six Senses offers some of the best Spa treatments in the world. Expect an amazing experience and gongs!

Laze by the infinity pool, which is so perfect that you feel you might swim right off the edge. Eat in the split-level dining room, which is surrounded by natural vegetation and a waterfall, drink on a daybed in the main house, and stay as long as your honeymoon lasts.

6. COMO Point Yamu Resort

COMO Point Yamu Resort is a luxury resort located at the tip of Cape Yamu overlooking the Andaman Sea and the dramatic limestone pinnacles of Phang Nga Bay. Interiors by Italian designer Paola Navone offer a unique expression of contemporary Thai luxury. Facilities include a COMO Shambhala wellness retreat and two world-class restaurants for Thai and Italian cuisine.

The Verandah Pool Suites each have a four-poster bed, a living room, a verandah with comfy loungers, and a private aqua-tiled infinity pool, where you can watch the sunrise.

The impressive 100m main infinity pool has sun loungers overlooking Phang Nga Bay; lie back and enjoy the fruity icy poles that are regularly brought to guests. The pool is perched by La Sirena restaurant, where you can order lunch to your sunbed.

The cliffside location of this hotel means spectacular Andaman Sea views, perfect for Instagram-worthy honeymoon photos, but this hotel does not have direct access to a private beach. However, the resort does have a private COMO Beach Club, 40 minutes by complimentary boat shuttle from the hotel.

Keemala Phuket is a gorgeous hotel nestled amidst lush flora on the rainforest encrusted hills of Phuket. It screams romance and is ideal for your honeymoon. 8. Rosewood Phuket

Rosewood Phuket can be found at an exquisite location along a 600-meter beachfront at Emerald Bay. Rosewood Phuket is a tropical beach hideaway akin to an ideal ocean village. Innovative architecture with subtle Thai influences blends organically into a lush natural landscape, while sun-weathered shores and glistening, crystalline waters help celebrate luxury island living.

Each sea-facing residential-style room starts at 130 m² for the Ocean View Pool Pavilion right up to the stand-alone 796 m² two-bedroom Ocean House. All feature a private infinity pool and interiors that blend polished details and rustic notes linking east and west, contemporary and traditional.

10. Aleenta Resort & Spa

For an escape where your private space is a priority, the Aleenta Resort & Spa really has it all. 20 minutes north of Phuket International Airport, it is near both the Blue Canyon Golf Course and the charming Phang Nga Bay.

Aleenta is billed as boutique luxury, and it’s not hard to see why. Comfort and space are king here, and you really feel as though you have space to rest and relax. This multi-award-winning resort is achingly chic and stylish, with warm tones and huge windows everywhere, making the most of the gorgeous ocean views.

Located on the sunset side of the Andaman Sea and on the pristine Natai Beach, the resort is so perfectly positioned that it’s hard to escape those views – as if you’d want to! The Thai hospitality shines through at Aleenta, and the staff are charming and very accommodating. The hotel is a member of the Akaryn Hotel Group, whose passion for an innovative approach to hospitality ensures a consistently high standard across all their beautiful hotels.

Rooms are all suites or villas, and all offer lots and lots of luxurious space for you to make your own during your visit. The suite sizes range from 80m up to stunning 5 bedroom beachfront Grand Villas. While the larger suites might be too large for honeymooners, the smaller rooms are still huge and perfect for two.

Rooms feature double-height ceilings, private sundecks, private pools, outdoor baths, outdoor Jacuzzi, being right by the beachfront, etc. All suites include individually adjusted air-conditioning, iPod and iDock with large music library, LCD large-screen TV with cable TV, free Wi-Fi, safe, fully stocked minibar, 360 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and all-natural toiletries with essential oil extracts, exclusively designed for Aleenta.

There are 2 main options for dining at Aleenta: The Natai, which offers delectable, contemporary Thai cuisine, and The Edge, a spacious, beachfront restaurant. The lounge and bar area by the beach is quite something, with huge, comfy sofas facing the ocean – some even make it as far as the sand itself! For more of those breathtaking ocean views, the rooftop bar makes the perfect, intimate location to watch the sunset. With all the space your Suite offers, it would seem a shame not to make use of the private dining option, as well as a romantic meal. It can also be used for a fun, exclusive beach barbeque or even a mini cocktail party.

They do infinity pools very well, indeed, at Aleenta. Whether it’s the main pool or one of the private pools, the gorgeous ocean view is perfectly enhanced and seems almost framed by the pool itself. The Ayurah Spa & Wellness Center offers a medical, results-orientated approach to wellness, with your ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation being their goal.

So if a romantic honeymoon escape is your intent, but you’ve always wondered why so many 5 star rooms don’t somehow seem to offer 5 stars worth of space, Aleenta is well worth a week or two of your time.
