Book A Stay

One of the frustrations that can arise with even the most comfortable and luxurious hotels is that you just don’t have enough space to properly kick back and unwind. For an escape where your private space is a priority, the Aleenta Resort & Spa really has it all. 20 minutes north of Phuket International Airport, it is near both the Blue Canyon Golf Course and the charming Phang Nga Bay, but it’s the resort itself, with its beachfront location, that is the real highlight; stylish, comfortable, with a gorgeous spa, 2 restaurants and exceptional service. Flights to Phuket with BA from London Heathrow typically have a brief stopover in Bangkok and take around 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Hotel
Aleenta is billed as boutique luxury and it’s not hard to see why. Comfort and space are king here and you really feel as though you have space to rest and relax. The multi award winning resort is achingly chic and stylish, with warm tones and huge windows everywhere making the most of the gorgeous ocean views. Located on the sunset side of the Andaman Sea and on the pristine Natai Beach, the resort is so perfectly positioned that it’s hard to escape those views – as if you’d want to! The Thai hospitality shines through at Aleenta and the staff are charming and very accommodating. The hotel is a member of the Akaryn Hotel Group whose passion for an innovative approach to hospitality ensures a consistently high standard across all their beautiful hotels.

Rooms
So rooms are not really rooms at Aleenta! They are all suites or villas and all offer lots and lots of luxurious space for you to make your own during your visit. The suite sizes range from 80m up to stunning 5 bedroom beachfront Grand Villas. With 11 room types there’s a wide range and it’s a tough choice when your options include: feature double-height ceilings, private sundecks, private pools, outdoor baths, outdoor Jacuzzi, being right by the beachfront, etc.! If budget allows, I would have to recommend one of the 3 simply stunning Grand Villas, the amount of space and the facilities included would truly be hard to surpass. All suites include: individually adjusted air-conditioning, iPod and iDock with large music library, LCD large-screen TV with cable TV, free Wi-Fi, safe, fully stocked minibar, 360 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and all natural toiletries with essential oil extracts, exclusively designed for Aleenta.

Restaurants & Bars
There are 2 main options for dining at Aleenta; The Natai which offers delectable, contemporary Thai cuisine and The Edge a spacious, beachfront restaurant serving a delicious and creative selection of Thai, Asian and Western dishes. The chefs are very accommodating and will cater to all tastes and dietary requirements. The Edge also includes an assortment of bars; with a swim-up pool bar; beachside lounge bar and rooftop top. The lounge and bar area by the beach is quite something; with huge comfy sofas facing the ocean – some even make it as far as the sand itself! For more of those breath-taking ocean views, the rooftop bar makes the perfect, intimate location to watch the sunset. With all the space your Suite offers it would seem a shame not to make use of the private dining option, as well as a romantic meal, it can also be used for a fun exclusive beach barbeque or even a mini cocktail party.

Pool & Activities
They do infinity pools very well indeed at Aleenta! Whether it’s the main pool or one of the private pools, the gorgeous ocean view is perfectly enhanced and seems almost framed by the pool itself. The Ayurah Spa & Wellness centre offers a medical, results-orientated approach to wellness with your ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation being their goal; with meditation, tai-chi, yoga and a well-equipped gym supporting treatments such as oxygen therapy to combat jet lag, the latest in light therapy techniques, massages and many more.
Phuket is the largest of Thailand’s islands, renowned for the luxury lifestyle it provides for its visitors; with gorgeous white sandy beaches, deep-sea diving, luxury shopping and fabulous nightlife on offer. Patong has a very happening, party vibe, but for a more relaxed, cultured experience with magnificent architecture, a trip to Phuket Town is well worth taking, the resort offers a free mini bus service. The nearby Thai Muang Turtle Sanctuary is only a 25 minute drive and a must to see these amazing endangered creatures.

Insider Info
Private dining on the beach makes for a really special and very memorable night.

So if a luxurious escape is your intent, but you’ve always wondered why so many 5 star rooms don’t somehow seem to offer 5 stars worth of space; Aleenta is well worth a week or two of your time.
