1. Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali
Ubud’s magic not only lies in its charm and centuries-old spiritual and cultural richness. Fronting the Ayung River near the Ubud jungle, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali, features 35 suites and 25 private pool villas, replicates a traditional Balinese village complete with working rice paddies.
Using this marvelous resort, we think the best Ritz-Carlton in the world, as your base, you can discover hidden temples, incredible views from the top of an active volcano, or you can adventure on a mighty Ayung River raft, though inspiring and memorable scenery.
For thousands of years, the mandapas, Sanskrit for temples, of Ubud, have offered a sacred space for devotees to rest their mind, body, and soul. Visitors today will find a similar escape at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve; a secluded paradise where lush, rolling hills, the Ayung River, and verdant rice paddies create a unique sense of place.
A traditional Balinese gong marks your arrival at this five-star hotel, followed by a refreshing local drink, full of goodness and infused with indigenous herbs. Your personal butler, who will remain at your service throughout your stay, will escort you to your villa or suite, one of only 60 available at this intimate property.
Luxury accommodations feature a private outdoor space with views of the river or surrounding scenery, including the lime green rice paddies surrounding Mandapa. Four restaurants serve health-conscious cuisine sourced from the organic garden; arrange a romantic dinner overlooking the river or rice terrace. The spa offers a variety of programs focused on physical and spiritual well-being.
2. Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Baja California Sur
Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is the best Marriott Bonvoy resort in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur and it really is an incredible resort. If you scroll through the photographs on the hotel website, you can see just how incredible the place is!
The retreat, which is one of just two Ritz-Carlton Reserve resorts in the wider Caribbean-Mexico region, is set in San Jose del Cabo on the Sea of Cortez.
The property includes a total of 115 suites and villas, along with a massive TLee Spas-designed spa and an ultimate desert luxury ambiance. The mix of units includes 87 rooms, 28 suites, and 42 villas, headlined by the 6,000-square-foot “Grand Reserve Villa.” Many of the suites and villas boast their own private plunge pools. All rooms have dark wood flooring, and terraces or balconies with glass surrounds, so railings do not disrupt the views of the ocean.
Our favorite room is the Oceanfront Pool Room with a private plunge pool and ocean views. These rooms have windows that slide right back to open up completely, so the wooden floors stretch through the room out onto a large terrace, where loungers and an alfresco seating area with a table that looks out over the pool and to the ocean beyond.
The property is surrounded by a 27-hole golf course complex, including three courses designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus.
Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, joins the celebrated Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico, as the halo brand’s two regional resorts.

4. Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach Resort
The Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach is probably the best Ritz-Carlton hotel in America. Why? The stunning Gulf of Mexico views from your room, even more importantly, this beach faces the sunset for the romantics among us! The hotel is fronted by a gorgeous golden sand beach reached by a wooden walkway. There is a super pool with water slides for the kids and an excellent spa and fitness center with many exercise classes for adults. The kids club is amazing and fully supervised for children aged 5 through 12 years. They do a brilliant children’s scavenger hunt, and excellent activities are included in half and full-day sessions. Animal education with real-life animals, along with snacks and crafts to take home, are all included. For teens, there is a video game room at the Beach Resort.
Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach Resort an impressive five-star with soaring floor to ceiling windows, chandeliers. It is ideal for families, weddings (there is a marvelous Vanderbilt Ballroom), and conventions. It is much larger than the Ritz-Carlton golf resort up the road (a cheaper resort to stay at to take advantage of all these wonderful facilities as you can minibus between the two for free. This Ritz-Carlton is so good that we have also listed it as the best Ritz-Carlton in Florida. We have also compared this Ritz-Carlton Naples Beach Vs the nearby Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort club lounge.
They say Marvel at the stunning views from one of the private balconies at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, with three miles of immaculate beach to explore. Here on the Gulf of Mexico, guests are pampered with championship golf, a world-class spa, two swimming pools, an array of beach activities, and seven distinctive restaurants. 5. The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert, UAE
he Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert, UAE is around a one hour drive from Dubai and is an Arabian dream. The beauty of the Arabian desert has been a secret of the Bedouins for thousands of years. Visitors can now experience its tranquillity, picturesque scenery, and rich culture at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert. With just 101 all-pool tented villas come in the style of traditional Bedouin nomadic dwelling, this is a boutique Ritz-Carlton resort.
The luxury resort brings together pampering services with opportunities to discover the land and the people, creating an unforgettable experience for the entire family. 6. Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Maui
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is situated on 54 lush acres featuring white-sand beaches and lava peninsulas. The AAA Five Diamond resort offers 463 beautiful guestrooms, including 107 Residential Suites enhanced with all new décor and kitchens, a full-service spa with volcanic stone grotto, many dining experiences, land, and sea recreational activities with Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment, 36 holes of championship golf, direct access to D.T. Fleming Beach and a three-level swimming pool. The resort is beautiful, but it lacks a boutique feel, and as it can be windy and quiet on this side of Maui, this hotel is one of the best, but it isn’t for everyone.
We consider this hotel to have one of the best club lounges in Hawaii as well as a beautiful resort on the beach and an exclusive golf course. You can only get access to the club level lounge if you book a club level room. The club lounge is located near the elevators on the eighth floor of the Napili Wing of the resort.
The continuous culinary offerings throughout the day (breakfast, light lunch, evening hors d’ oeuvres, desserts, and sweets), and in the afternoon and evening, you can drink alcoholic drinks of your choice, and staff makes will make up great cocktails complete with flowers in, all included of course.
The lounge itself has a dark wood floor and loads of comfy chairs and sofas. It does look slightly less trendy when you compare it to, say, the Andaz in Wailea or the Four Seasons Lanai with its ultra-modern Asian inspired decor. Then again, this is all taken account in the price, the Ritz-Carlton is generally less expensive than the Four Seasons properties in Hawaii and appeals it to a more traditional and sophisticated golfing crowd.
When traveling with kids, the value of the lounge is increased as kids under twelve do not usually cost extra, so it is terribly convenient to have a constant array of food available and not to have to stick to mealtimes, so paying for a club lounge is often worth it.
7. The Ritz-Carlton South Beach
The Ritz-Carlton South Beach is an oceanfront luxury hotel inside a historic property designed by Morris Lapidus, in the heart of the Art Deco District of Miami. It features a wonderful swimming pool, a stunning art collection, a modern spa, and an excellent Spanish restaurant Tatel.
The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach club lounge is located on the 10th floor and is reserved for Ritz-Carlton Club Level guests, only those staying in rooms on the ninth and 10th floors. The renovation in around 2017 reimagined the space to create more of a social, lobby-lounge feel encouraging interactive experiences with guests.
There are five daily food presentations featuring select dishes off the menu of Bistro One LR, the hotel’s flagship restaurant, and biweekly cooking demonstrations from chef du cuisine Luis Quant and pastry chef John Martinez. A mixologist prepares seasonal cocktails for guests at a weekly Cocktail Action Station. Other events such as trunk shows, Espa product presentations, and wine and Champagne tastings from select vineyards are also included if you have club lounge access.
Worth knowing: The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach implements a $28 USD per room, per night resort fee. Services and amenities included in the fee are Complimentary 5mb wireless Internet access for up to 5 devices in guest rooms, lobby, and most common areas, beach chairs, and umbrellas, beach Activities including boogie boards, skimboards, beach paddle tennis, bocce ball, and cornhole court, one-hour daily fitness class, 24-hour access to the fitness center.
8. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, Japan
This gorgeous Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is definitely one of the best. It is not just us who think this. Forbes Travel Guide gave it a Five-Star Rating in 2018. It has also won the following awards:
- Best Hotel in Kyoto, Travel + Leisure World Best Awards 2018
- Tempura Mizuki awarded its One-Star in Michelin Guide Kyoto Osaka 2018, 2019
- #1 out of the 25 Top Hotels in Japan, TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards 2018
- #1 out of the 10 Top Hotels in Japan, Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2017
Perched along the famous Kamogawa river, in an enviable location favored by Japanese noblemen since the 17th century, The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto offers sublime views of the river and walking proximity to Gion where shopping, dining, and entertainment await.
Blending centuries-old architecture with modern luxury, guests will feel right at home in the opulent 134-rooms boutique hotel after being awed by an intimate arrival experience. Be pampered by oversized accommodation, fine gastronomic dining, immersive cultural experiences, and meticulous attention to detail. It is no wonder that it won “Best Design” in Virtuoso’s 2015 Best of the Best Hotel Awards, a year after its opening.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto, is a luxurious modern retreat inspired by a traditional Japanese ryokan, offering expansive views of the Kamogawa river. Minimalist contemporary interiors with floor-to-ceiling windows define 134 accommodations; some suites offer traditional décor, including futons and tatami mats. The Ritz-Carlton Spa promises to melt your cares away with a healing atmosphere enhanced by the sounds of a waterfall. Immerse yourself in local culture with the hotel’s customized Kyoto art activities. Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine at La Locanda, sushi at Mizuki, and signature cocktails at the bar.
9. The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne
Just 14 km from the main Miami airport, this tropical island oasis is set on the eastern shore of a unique island that offers guests a tranquil haven, surrounded by towering palms and golden sands (although the beach can sometimes be seaweedy and is quite a thin strip of sand – see below). With a décor inspired by West Indies Colonial design, the 12-acre oceanfront resort captures the beauty of its waterfront setting with floor-to-ceiling lobby windows that offer the first dramatic glimpse of palm gardens and the Atlantic Ocean.
With 450 guest rooms, including 37 suites, this is a big hotel. There are also 64 Ritz-Carlton Club level rooms and suites which overlook either the water or gardens. All guestrooms and suites welcome guests with feather beds and down comforters, Frette linens, and comfortable, Caribbean-inspired furnishings.
This hotel is not in central Miami and is instead 20-30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach, so if you’re looking for nightlife, you may find this hotel on the quiet side. In the holiday season, the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne attracts families, so expect very busy restaurants and communal areas. You can escape the madness in the adults-only pool, but be aware that the whole hotel is a bit crazy, particularly on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
The beach here somewhat disappointing, narrow and full of seaweed, and golfing options are limited too. There is Crandon Park nearby, a very nice but overpriced municipal course, full of quite bad golfers costing around $160 USD per round.
The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne club lounge gets excellent reviews and offers food presentations daily, breakfast, lunch, mid-day snacks and fine selections of wines, liqueurs, beers and non-alcoholic beverages. There is complimentary wireless in-room Internet access for Club guests along with the pressing of two garments pressed daily.
This exclusive lounge is on the 9th floor and features an endless array of beverage and culinary offerings throughout the day, coupled with the finest personal service. Views from the lounge and adjacent Club Level guest rooms boast stunning panoramas of Key Biscayne and Biscayne Bay.
We highly recommend booking a room on the Club floor. It will almost undoubtedly work out cheaper than booking a standard room as you have all your meals catered for, for free, and the food in the lounge is excellent. A full breakfast buffet is served daily. Sandwiches are provided for lunch and heavy hors-d’oeuvres for the early evening (lobster, crab, and other delicious offerings). You may choose to eat all your meals there and will certainly use it for breakfast and snacks and, of course, alcoholic drinks, which are available 24/7. You can choose from wine, Champagne, beer, spirits, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages are available throughout the day.
Kids are welcome here. There is a dedicated kids room in the lounge, which is fully stocked with classic board games, TV entertainment, puzzles, and more, along with glass candy jars are filled with a variety of delectable delights like the Executive Pastry Chef’s delicious cookies.
10. The Ritz-Carlton, Orlando, Grande Lakes
This Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando is the second-best luxury hotel for Universal or Disney in Orlando (second to the Four Seasons Orlando at Disney). It is located in the Grande Lakes part of the city, within a short free shuttle ride to Disney and Universal (included with the resort fee of $35 USD per day).
This hotel features in our listings of the best hotels near Universal, our best Marriott Bonvoy hotels near Universal, and our best club lounges in Orlando. The resort fee also includes Wi-Fi, phone calls, the driving range, some kids activities, access to and floaties at the JW Marriott lazy river and shuttle transport to Disney and SeaWorld (reservation required at least 24 hours in advance) and one-hour bike rental.
The hotel is next door to the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Orlando Airport (MCO), and parking fees are around $40 USD per night if you have driven to the hotel.
I would choose this hotel because it offers luxury nearby the theme parks AND an excellent club lounge. It also has three wonderful pools, a Ritz-Carlton Spa, a Greg Norman-designed golf course, and 11 dining options. You can also use the lazy river next door at the JW Marriott, which kids and the young at heart will love. The Ritz-Carlton Spa is also not to be missed, with its 40 treatment rooms, salon, private heated lap pool, and healthy spa café. Of note, the JW Marriott does not have a club lounge so you do better booking into a Club Room at the Ritz-Carlton and then taking advantage of the magnificent lazy river at the JW Marriott during your stay, whilst retaining access to the RC club lounge.
The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is ideal for families, providing convenient access to nearby Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios attractions; plus, the Ritz Kids program is a favorite, and special excursions like kayaking, fishing instruction, and eco-tours allow for adventures while remaining in this 500-acre resort.
The highlight for me here is the pool, both here and next door at the JW Marriott with their lazy river and the incredible views of the resort holiday fireworks from the club lounge balcony.
The club lounge is on the 14th floor and is classic in design with orange and cream tones, mainly orange soft furnishings and creamy marbles. The long thin room is shuttered to one side with windows. There here buffet is delicious and filling. You can take a tour via the video on the Ritz-Carlton website.
