Colombia is situated on the northernmost tip of South American. This rainforest-covered country of Colombia boasts the Andes mountains, numerous coffee plantations, wonderful colonial architecture, and plenty of fabulous all-night salsa clubs.

Its booming capital, the high-altitude Bogotá, is a magnificent mix of a historic old town and new restaurants, boutique hotels, and craft breweries. Don’t miss Sundays in Bogota when its streets are closed to cars and overtaken by bicycles, rollerbladers, and runners. It’s also when the Usaquen neighborhood has a weekly market.

1. Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota

Firstly, it is worth sharing that this Four Seasons hotel does not have a club lounge, so if a club lounge is a dealbreaker, jump straight to number two in this top 10 best club lounges in Bogota review. We have, however, included this hotel in position one as it is really special and should be considered if only for one night to experience a very special and luxurious side of Bogota.

The landmark 1946 building of Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota was designed by Colombian artist-architect Santiago Medina Mejia. The building has been declared a cultural monument, its stoned columns, brick walls, beamed ceilings, and contemporary furnishings.

This hotel has some of the most quietly elegant rooms in the city, complete with beamed ceilings, hand-carved wooden furnishings, and fireplaces to cozy up to. No two rooms are alike. This is also a very small Four Seasons hotel. A boutique hotel with just 62 rooms.

The hotel is located steps from the buzzing financial district and the gourmet paradise of the Zona G, ideal for foodies. This district north of downtown hosts the capital’s finest restaurants (the “G” is for gastronomy).

The hotel also houses a stylish Mediterranean bar & restaurant, with a greenhouse atrium perfect for languorous romantic evenings or a quick bite with a signature cocktail. The Spa is also excellent here and offers green coffee wraps, coconut scrubs, and other locally inspired spa treatments.

Of course, there is no Four Seasons rewards program, but if you are a regular guest of the Four Seasons or even want to try this iconic brand for the first time, you can take advantage of loyalty style benefits at Four Seasons hotels for no extra cost by booking your next stay via our luxury travel concierge.

There is a second, newer Four Seasons hotel in Bogota named simply Four Seasons Hotel Bogota, a 20-minute drive from this Four Seasons. This Four Seasons hotel doesn’t have a club lounge either.

2. JW Marriott Bogota

JW Marriott Bogota has a prime location in the heart of the financial and entertainment districts, close to major corporate offices, the finest restaurants, bars of Zona G and Zona T and top area attractions, including Santo Tomas University, Avenida Chile Shopping Mall and National Theater Calle 71. The neighborhood is excellent, with lots of restaurants within easy walking distance.

This is a nice-looking hotel, very stylish with a boutique feel, and uses natural feeling decor with dark woods and leather in the decor. Many consider it one of the best Marriott hotels in the world. The hotel is just 6 miles away from El Dorado International Airport Bogota.

Rooms and suites feature soundproof windows and 300-thread count Egyptian-cotton sheets for maximum comfort, a full desk, chaise, and ottoman. There is a separate bath and shower, with marble and hardwood decor, safe, fluffy robes, and slippers.

All the staff speak English which is handy, and you can pamper yourself at the full-service spa, exercise at the 24-hour fitness center, and take a rejuvenating swim in the indoor lap pool. When hunger strikes, you won’t be at a loss for great options with four fabulous restaurants, including one where you can sit outside by their water feature.

JW Marriott Bogota has an excellent executive club lounge open 7 days a week, offers excellent views, and a nice breakfast and evening spread. The food available for both the morning and evening offerings is impressive, but the hotel is very strict about their two free drink limit in the evening.

The full breakfast available includes made-to-order omelets, eggs benedict, french toast, bacon, sausages, cereals, fresh juices, yogurt, bread and rolls, fruit, cheese, smoked salmon, cold cuts, a cappuccino or espresso machine. There is an afternoon tea with cakes. There are hot and cold snacks in the evening, including mini-paninis, cooked vegetables, chips and salsa, and desserts.

3. Grand Hyatt Bogota

Grand Hyatt Bogotá is 10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the historic center and 2 minutes from the American Embassy. While this is an excellent hotel, its location is nowhere near as good as the JW outlined above.

Enjoy the best views of the city accompanied by the mountains of the Andes. View more than 55,000 historical pieces in the nearby Gold Museum, climb to the top of Monserrate hill or admire the art in the different museums that the city offers, and return to relax and revitalize your body in Zaitania Spa. Finish your day with an unparalleled dinner at one of two restaurants, Ushin and Capitalino, or have a drink at Ilustre Bar with signature cocktails.

Designed with bold and vibrant features, the hotel has 372 beautifully decorated guestrooms, including 50 suites, that invite guests to wake up in open, airy rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush inner atrium garden multicolored lights of the metropolis, or the cloud-topped majesty of the Andes Mountains. Additionally, suites and club room guests have exclusive access to the Grand Club Lounge, which provides an elegantly designed space with personal concierge services and culinary highlights throughout the day.

The Grand club lounge here is very good and is open 7 days a week. Breakfast is a smaller spread than in the restaurant with a limited but very good buffet and two warm options, usually including omelets. The lounge includes soft drinks and juices, cappuccinos, espressos, tea, and hot chocolate from a machine throughout the day and limited alcoholic drinks in the evening.

4. Bogota Marriott Hotel

Bogota Marriott Hotel is a Rewards Category 3 Marriott Bonvoy hotel. Located near the area of Sauzalito, this downtown hotel places you near popular destinations in Colombia such as the U.S. Embassy Bogotá, Gran Estactión shopping mall, and Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park. This Marriott is about a mile from the airport, and usefully, they have a shuttle. This Marriott is basically a very good airport hotel. The location is totally unappealing for a tourist.

Unique rooms and extended-stay suites offer comfort and convenience. Tune out the city with the soundproof windows while you relax on cotton-rich linens and watch movies on your flat-panel TV.

When you’re hungry, stop by Pimento, their casual Italian restaurant, or try Tanoshii, crafting the most authentic Japanese cuisine and trendy sake-based cocktails with live music in the background. There’s also a well-equipped fitness center and complimentary training classes. When it comes time to relax, revel in bliss at the indoor pool and full-service spa.

5. Sheraton Bogota Hotel

Sheraton Bogota Hotel is a Rewards Category 3 Sheraton located next door to the Bogota Marriott Hotel, located in the new business center of Bogota in the Salitre section and near the airport, but in an unenviable location for tourists. If you are visiting Bogata for leisure, the JW Marriott is a much better choice for location.

A few blocks away, you will find the Salitre Plaza and the Gran Estacion commercial centers, the El Dorado International airport, and the Industrial Zone, where major businesses have established their headquarters.

Sheraton Bogota Hotel has a decent executive club lounge on the 10th floor, open 7 days a week, with a nice breakfast. The breakfast is better than average for a Sheraton and includes some hot Colombian dishes, like Calientado, Arroz con Pollo, which change each day, and made to order eggs. There are meaty light bites in the evening, including one hot item and complimentary beer and wine, limited to 2 drinks per person plus snacks, cookies and crackers, and soft and hot drinks.

6. Hilton Bogota
