Book A Hotel

We review the best hotels near the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. There is now an overwhelming number of Marriott Bonvoy, Hyatt, and Hilton hotel options in Denver, where you can earn and burn hotel points.

The Ritz-Carlton Denver and the Brown Palace are both excellent and are probably your best luxury Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Denver. Still, they are not the closest Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Below, we outline the closest, so you can simply walk to your conference without having to taxi or Uber it.

1. Hyatt Regency Denver

Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado is one of our top hotel choices for conference hotels in Denver. While not the closest at 0.21 miles away and not the cheapest at around $189 USD per night, this Hyatt Regency is definitely one of the very best hotel choices for easy access to the convention center in Denver, Colorado.

Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center is one block from the 16th Street Mall and within walking distance from the Convention Center. It is very close to the Westin and the Sheraton Denver Downtown.

This hotel is huge; 1,100 rooms and 59 suites offer impressive views of downtown Denver, the State Capitol, or the Rocky Mountains. One highlight is the 27th-floor Peaks Lounge is the highest-rising lounge in the city with spectacular Rocky Mountain views.

The Regency Club can be accessed if you are a World of Hyatt Globalist or book a club room. Breakfast is very good here, and the evening offering at happy hour includes cold cuts, veggies, bread, smoked salmon, cheeses, and a hot dish like Mexican-styled meat, along with discounted self-serve drinks, which cost around $3 USD for a glass of wine and $5 USD for a cocktail.

2. Sheraton Denver Downtown

The Sheraton Denver Downtown is a category 5 Marriott Bonvoy hotel. It is made up of two towers on two different blocks, connected by either a skywalk or the conference center in the basement. The club lounge is at the top of the “Tower” block. If you book a club room or are an elite member who gets free lounge access, you will probably be assigned to the Tower building with the lounge because it’s an annoying distance between the two buildings if you have to change blocks to get to the club lounge. Other guests may be assigned to the Plaza block.

Be warned, if you don’t get an upgrade, the Tower rooms and bathrooms are tiny as this is a 1950s-built hotel with the same footprint guest rooms.

The gym here is great, with plenty of equipment and machines and free weights. Platinum recognition is very good at this hotel, and Platinum Bonvoy members usually get upgraded to suites at the top of the Tower building, along with getting welcome plates with fancy snacks.

If you are there for leisure or the club lounge, the Tower building is also better as it hosts the pool, gym, and lounge. If you’re there for a conference, the Plaza building is more convenient.

The club lounge is nothing special in the evenings, but morning offerings are delicious, with fresh-squeezed juice and chorizo breakfast burritos along with the usual options.

If you want an alternative to this hotel, the Westin on the other end of the 16th Street Mall is your other choice, with a great location and a nice gym. It’s nothing amazing for a Westin, but a good property. This Westin doesn’t have a club lounge. Alternatively, pick the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, which we prefer and is one of Denver’s best Hyatt hotels.

3. Four Seasons Hotel Denver

The Four Seasons Hotel Denver is the most expensive hotel on this list and also the most luxurious in Denver. Still, if you need to be near the conference center and want to stay in luxury, this hotel is super convenient for the convention center at just 0.29 miles away.

The Four Seasons is located in the heart of the Mile High City. After a day of outdoor adventure or treading the boards, return to this stylish yet casual base where the eager-to-please staff tends to your needs. At a room rate of $293 USD per night for the nights we checked, this is also one of the cheapest Four Seasons hotels in the world!

4. Grand Hyatt Denver

Grand Hyatt Denver is located in the heart of downtown Denver, one block from the 16th Street Mall and minutes to Coors Field and Broncos Stadium at Mile High Stadium. It is also within 0.47 miles of the convention center.

On the roof of the hotel, you will find a rooftop open-air tennis court and running track. Really unusual and great if you like your sports. There is also an indoor pool.

The club lounge here is on the 26th floor and offers fantastic views of downtown and the mountains in the distance.

Breakfast, which is free in the club lounge, is generous here. Although there are limited hot options and no hot eggs or bacon, you can enjoy hot oatmeal with sauces. You have your usual juices, bread, coffee, tea, and other breakfast items, including pastries, muffins, cereals, danishes, and cold cuts.

In the evenings, the club lounge offers food, cold cuts, smoked salmon and light bites, and discounted self-serve drinks, which cost around $3 USD for a glass of wine and $5 USD for a cocktail.

5. Embassy Suites Denver Downtown

At just 0.14 miles from the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Embassy Suites Denver Downtown is the nearest hotel to the conference center. Expect to pay around $200 USD per night to stay here, which is around the same price as the Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency. Although this hotel is close to the convention center, we prefer the Hyatts as they are more luxurious and usually a similar price.

6. Hilton Garden Inn Denver Downtown

At $95 USD per night, the Hilton Garden Inn Denver tends to be one of the cheapest hotel options near the convention center. In fact, it is super close to the convention center at just 0.16 miles away. It’s hard to beat this hotel for convenience, but it is fairly basic.

7. Doubletree By Hilton The Curtis Denver

Doubletree By Hilton, The Curtis Denver, is around 0.19 miles away and is also a good budget option. Expect to pay in the region of $114 USD per night for this cheap and cheerful hotel.

8. Le Meridien Denver Downtown

Le Meridien Denver Downtown is a more luxury option and comes in at around $179 USD per night and is 0.19 miles from the convention center.

Le Meridien Denver has a superb rooftop bar and gets good reviews. It is less than a block away from the main Denver convention center but be warned. It has tiny rooms and a W-style bathroom that feels like you are showering in the bedroom.

That said, this is definitely one of the best hotel choices near the convention center, mixing luxury with a reasonable choice. It’s a very new, clean, and modern hotel. The style and furnishings in the lobby, bar, and rooms are great. Just be prepared that the base rooms are not large. The standard King room is tiny and has an open bathroom with a toilet behind a pocket door. The sink is literally in the room!

9. AC By Marriott Denver Downtown

AC By Marriott Denver Downtown is another super cheap option at $96 USD per night and just 0.21 miles from the convention center. Again, this is a budget hotel and cheap. You get what you pay for.

10. Aloft Denver Downtown

Very close, just 0.21 miles away, and very cheap, usually at $100 USD, Aloft is not a brand for the luxury traveler, but it is certainly near the convention center.

11. Renaissance Denver

Renaissance Denver is a great hotel in an old bank building with great restaurants and bars and about 4-5 blocks away and 0.4 miles from the convention center. The Denver Renaissance Downtown City Center is one of the few Marriott hotels with an M Lounge club lounge, which is open 24/7 with breakfast only on weekends. However, it does not serve evening snacks on Friday and Saturday nights (you get evening snacks for the rest of the week).

12. Brown Palace

Just 0.48 miles from the convention center, Brown Palace is a cheaper luxury hotel option in Denver, with standard rooms usually coming on under $200 USD.

It is located about 6 blocks away from the convention center but is ideal for leisure travel. The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and has been synonymous with extraordinary service since its opening more than a century ago, in 1892.

With 241 distinct guestrooms and suites, including their new Signature Inclusive rooms, amenities include twice-daily maid service, plush terry robes, complimentary Wi-Fi in Lobby, and pure artesian water from our own well.

The hotel also boasts six unique restaurants and bars, a boutique spa, and nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

It is worth noting that this hotel is not taking redemption bookings at the moment, so you can’t book in on points. You can either book a cash reservation or search for another Marriott Bonvoy property.

13. The Ritz-Carlton Denver

If you want luxury and haven’t chosen the Four Seasons and feel that 0.57 miles is close enough to stroll or Uber to the convention center, the Ritz-Carlton, coming in around $250 USD per night, is a great choice.

The Ritz-Carlton Denver is nestled in the bustling lower downtown neighbourhood. The hotel offers the city’s largest guestrooms, an unparalleled and exclusive Club Level, and ELWAY’S Downtown, an elevated dining experience.

Book a Club Room, which features free access to the club lounge, which is the best club lounge in Denver, for up to 2 guests. This club lounge features continuous culinary presentations throughout the day (breakfast, light snacks, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and sweets), all in a comfortable lounge setting with distinctive Denver views and personalized service. This is the best hotel club lounge in Denver.

This Ritz-Carlton is a category 6 Marriott, costing, on average, 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy per night if you book your stay by redeeming points.

14. Courtyard Denver

The Courtyard Denver is in an old building right on the 16th St Mall and offers a surprising amount of character, and it is about 4 blocks away from the convention center in Denver.
