Book A Hotel

We have reviewed hotels in Atlanta, the airport ATL, and the rest of Georgia with the best club or executive lounges. Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or as a single business traveler, I conclude which hotel has the best club lounge in Atlanta and beyond.

If you want to stay in luxury in Atlanta, if the budget allows, you should consider staying at one of the best luxury hotels in the city. These include Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead (no lounge), Mandarin Oriental (no lounge), Lowes (no lounge), The Whitley, A Luxury Collection Hotel Atlanta Buckhead, and the InterContinental Buckhead, the latter two of which feature club lounges. St Regis Atlanta is also a good choice, but there is no club lounge at St Regis Atlanta.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Atlanta. I list the lounges that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail so that you know what you’ll get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta

The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta is a luxurious base from which to experience the city’s numerous historical attractions and the best in dining, shopping and entertainment.

The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, offers modern décor, which is complemented by vintage photographs of the area. For food, AG Steakhouse is inspired by the Southern tradition of hospitality, while Jittery Joe’s is an outpost of the renowned Athens, Georgia coffee shop. Luxury hotel rooms and suites overlook the skyline, and meetings have a local touch, from the names of event spaces to the catering menu options.

Book a Club Room, which features free access to the Club Lounge (pictured above), for up to 2 guests. This club lounge features continuous culinary presentations throughout the day (breakfast, light snacks, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and sweets) and sweeping panoramic views from its 24th-floor location.

This spacious Club Lounge is truly luxurious and offers large windows to take in the fantastic views of the downtown Atlanta skyline. There is also a dedicated concierge to assist with reservations, directions, and personalized itineraries, and complimentary Wi-Fi with two computer stations.

This is the best club lounge in Atlanta. Ritz-Carlton club lounges are generally the best executive club lounges in most cities because of their numerous (5) food offerings and generally luxurious decor. This is also your best Marriott Bonvoy hotel choice in Atlanta.

2. InterContinental Buckhead

Located on Peachtree Road, InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is an exceptional hotel in the heart of Buckhead, close to trendy restaurants, shops and nightlife. Enjoy the cuisine of USA Today’s 2015 Best Hotel Restaurant, Southern Art, by celebrity chef Art Smith, and the distinguished collection of bourbons at Bourbon Bar. Treat your mind and body to the 24-hour fitness center, outdoor heated saline pool, Jacuzzi, and holistic spa treatments at SPA InterContinental.

Rooms here feature delicious-smelling complimentary Agraria bath amenities, but there is little difference between the standard and clubrooms. The real difference is the space and food in the lounge. This club lounge is very decent, particularly when it comes to breakfast, lunch, high tea, and evening snacks. You could dine here full-time in theory.

The club room has beautiful views of the Buckhead skyline, a large TV, and a table, as well as buffet service at feeding times. Breakfast is particularly good, much like the breakfast at the Intercontinental Park Lane club lounge in London with smoked salmon, fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, bacon, turkey, cold cuts, fresh fruit and juices, an espresso bar, tea and so forth.

Cocktail hour provides complimentary drinks and appetizers, unlike The Whitley club lounge, detailed below, where you have to pay for your alcoholic drinks, making this club lounge much more valuable and worthwhile to pay to upgrade to.

3. The Whitley A Luxury Collection Hotel Atlanta Buckhead

The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Atlanta Buckhead used to be a Ritz-Carlton hotel and as such, maintains an excellent club lounge.

The Whitley is one of the most celebrated addresses in Atlanta’s most exclusive district, a luxurious starting point from which to access the city’s best shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The Whitley’s spacious bedrooms reflect a modern lifestyle, and the suites offer bay window views of the city skyline. The hotel features an intimate Spa, Spa Lounge with a concierge, and Spa Boutique. In September 2017, the hotel opened its new bar and restaurant, sourcing the finest ingredients to delight you with an extraordinary, global dining experience.

Kids are particularly well catered for here, and The Whitley offers a super scavenger hunt with a prize at their own check-in desk, as well as “drive-in” movies on the weekends.

The Whitley club-level rooms and executive suites all come with access to The Whitley Club Lounge, which is open Monday – Friday from 6:30 – 10:30 am and 5:00 – 9:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 – 11:00 am and 5:00 – 9:00 pm.

Guests can enjoy three complimentary culinary presentations, breakfast, light snacks, and hors d’oeuvres & dessert. Cocktails, wine, and beer are available for an additional fee from early evening.

The rooms at The Whitley are more luxury Marriott in terms of “level of luxury” than a Ritz-Carlton level, which is probably why Marriott changed the brand of this hotel from Ritz-Carlton.

By contrast, the Ritz-Carlton above has a club lounge that offers 5 food presentations per day, and the lounge stays open all day). The main downside of these rooms is that there aren’t separate showers and bathtubs in the bathrooms. Otherwise, The Whitley remains one of the top luxury hotel choices in Atlanta, Georgia.

4. Grand Hyatt Atlanta In Buckhead Hotel

Grand Hyatt Atlanta In Buckhead Hotel is situated in the posh Buckhead neighborhood in Atlanta, only a short distance from Miami Circle Design District and the Intercontinental and Mandarin Oriental Atlanta are within a 5 minutes walk from each other. It offers an indoor swimming pool with sun loungers, a gym and fitness room, and a golf course. The property was designed in an urban style and built in 1990.

The venue is set close to William Harris Homestead and within 950 meters of MARTA-Buckhead underground station. Within just a 15-minute stroll, you’ll find popular attractions like Legoland Discovery Center, along with restaurants and nightclubs.

The property offers contemporary rooms furnished with a minibar, a heating system, and storage. Some units feature an outstanding garden view to enjoy. Each room comes with a small fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities.

An American breakfast is served here every morning. Otherwise, there is a Japanese restaurant, Onyx, and the Grand restaurant, along with the bistro bar and a coffee shop.

More importantly, there is a great little club lounge here in a smart but small room with nice views out to the skyscrapers and over the trees. There are multiple food offerings throughout the day, which are designed to be snacks. The evening meal includes the usually chopped veggies, cold cuts, mini canapes, two hot dishes, and large bowls of cold options. Just about enough to fill you up, but only just. At Grand Hyatts in the States, you pay for beer, wine, and other alcoholic drinks, which is a shame and makes the InterContinental above the better club lounge choice.

The breakfast is also good with lots of cereal and fruit, including strawberries, juices, cold cuts, smoked salmon, yogurts, etc. Certainly, the quality of the food is high, even if the quantity is a little lacking, making this lounge worth the paid upgrade. Plus, this hotel is cheap on weekends, so worth stopping by, and a good choice in Atlanta.

5. Hyatt Regency Downtown Atlanta

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta is also an excellent Hyatt hotel in Atlanta, and there isn’t much to choose between the Grand Hyatt vs. the Hyatt Regency. The Hyatt Regency offers more of a downtown experience and is closer to Marta, which is useful to get to and from the airport.

That said, once the working day has come to an end, Atlanta’s Downtown tends to clear out and become a bit dead, making this location very quiet for the evening. It is, however, a handy location for Olympic Park, the aquarium, and Coke World. Buckhead, where the Grand Hyatt is located, is much better for restaurants and shopping.

The hotel itself is a John Portman with a Polaris lounge in the “UFO” at the top of the building. All rooms feature separate living and work areas, with views including the Atlanta skyline or the inviting pool. The Deluxe Suite offers two balconies with city views, a dining table and bar, a living room, and other amenities. There is a very good Gladys & Ron’s Chicken & Waffle a few blocks away for food.

The Hyatt Regency Club Lounge is open daily 6:00 am – 9:00 pm. One free drink is available during the evening happy hour. Otherwise, there is a charge for alcoholic drinks.

The highlight of this small lounge is the quality of the food and drinks. Expect breakfast with lots of cereal, fruit, juices, cold cuts, smoked salmon, yogurts, etc. In the evening, you get chopped veggies, cold cuts, mini canapes, and two hot dishes, as well as large bowls of cold options. The food is very similar to the Grand Hyatt above.

When comparing these Hyatts with other club lounges in Atlanta, the Hyatts win because of their food quality, which is excellent.

6. The Westin Buckhead Atlanta

The Westin Buckhead Atlanta is located in the heart of the affluent Buckhead community, across the street from popular Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza, and in the heart of Atlanta’s premier dining and shopping district. It is just down the street from the Grand Hyatt and is an excellent choice for a hotel with a club lounge.

For families, this hotel has an indoor heated pool open all year round. 365 rooms start with the traditional base room, which offers a choice of one king bed or two doubles, accommodating a maximum of four guests. The decor is in earthy tones, and all rooms boast Westin’s Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Shower with strong pressure.

The Westin Executive Club Lounge is located on the top three floors with floor-to-ceiling windows and a nice setting to enjoy a cold breakfast with fruit, cereal, pastries, and evening bites, including particularly good desserts, plus unlimited complimentary beverages 24/7.

7. Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

There are two Sheratons in Atlanta. One at the airport and one in the center of Downtown. Sheraton Atlanta Hotel is the one in downtown and is located only minutes from the Fox Theater Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta Aquarium, Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, State Farm Arena Atlanta, and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The highlight of this hotel is the incredible Garden Courtyard Pool with a retractable glass dome (there is also a Sheraton Fitness Center). Rooms here are decent, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline or pool.

There is a Club lounge on the 5th floor which offers free soft drinks, water, and fountain sodas but no cans, bottles, milk, yogurts, cookies, fresh fruit, breakfast grain bars, and chips throughout the day, but it isn’t a great lounge, and it doesn’t serve alcohol.

8. Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter

Le Méridien Club Lounge is located on the 12th floor of the hotel and is open seven days a week, 6:30 am – 11:00 pm, which is great as many Marriott lounges close at the weekends.

This lounge offers both breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres and is accessible via guest room keys. Inside this stylish lounge, enjoy 1,650 ft² of space with floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating natural light, with views extending to Buckhead. Book a club room or get access free if you are a Platinum SPG guest.

Enjoy three separate seating areas complete with flat-screen televisions and two computer workstations with a printer.

9. JW Marriott Buckhead

The JW Marriott Buckhead is an upscale high-rise hotel that is attached to the Lenox Mall. JW is much nicer and more high-end than the Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Convention Center, which is in almost the same location, and the concierge lounge offerings and service are better at the JW Marriott, too. This club lounge is open throughout the week but only for breakfast at the weekends.

Other Marriott hotels within Atlanta include the Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Convention Center, which is a standard old concrete mid-rise property across the street and a large parking lot from the same Lenox Mall, the location of the JW. It was formerly a Sheraton, so the rooms are small with poor sound insulation. The Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Convention Center club lounge is closed on weekends when you get a full buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Marriott Marquis Atlanta is Downtown close to Marta and the Aquarium, Olympic Park, Hard Rock Cafe, New World of Coke, and CNN/studio tour. They have a club lounge, closed for most of the weekend and only open for breakfast on weekends. It is a big hotel with all the facilities you need, but it is not your best Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Atlanta.

The Marriott Perimeter Center also has a club lounge, which opens just for the morning on weekends, so you get a continental breakfast in the lounge on Saturday and Sunday. Bearing this in mind and the fact you don’t get hot items at breakfast in this lounge, the other Marriott options are better if you are staying on the weekend, as cold breakfasts are never as nice.

10. Hilton Atlanta

Hilton Atlanta is your choice if you want a club lounge and collect Hilton Honours points. Hilton Atlanta, Executive Level rooms are found on the top three floors of the hotel and feature all standard guest room amenities plus Executive Lounge access with enhanced offerings of private concierge services, continental breakfast, and evening appetizers. Every Executive Level room has one king-sized or two double beds, luxurious bathrobes, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

11. Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Convention Center

Within Atlanta, there is a Renaissance hotel with a club lounge. Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Convention Center has a good lounge that is open all week, but on weekends is only open for breakfast.

12. ATL Atlanta Airport Hotels With Club Lounges

Sheraton Atlanta Airport Hotel has a tiny lounge with limited breakfast on offer, including basic eggs, bacon, cereal, and bread.

There are two airport Renaissance hotels, Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport, with an executive club lounge which is closed on weekends (lounge guests are offered continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant as an alternative), and the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway, which has a club lounge which is also closed on weekends. This lounge is open Monday to Friday.

There is also an airport Marriott at ATL Atlanta airport, which has a lounge that is closed on weekends. On weekends, you are offered a full breakfast in the hotel restaurant instead. The Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway is the other Marriott option at the airport. It has a club lounge, which is also closed on weekends but again offers a full breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Beyond Atlanta but still, in Georgia, there is also a club lounge at Marriott Alpharetta, the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, the Columbus Marriott, the Macon Marriott City Center, Peachtree Corners Marriott, the Savannah Marriott Riverfront, and the Savannah Mansion on Forsyth Park, Autograph Collection.
