We have reviewed hotels in Brussels with the best club or executive lounges to help you make the best choice, whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or as a single business traveler. By reviewing each of these club lounges, in turn, I conclude which hotel club lounge comes in at the top and which hotel I would select as having the best club lounge in Brussels.
Luxury hotels in Brussels include the Sofitel Brussels on Avenue Louise, where you will find lots of designer shops,
Steigenberger Wiltcher’s, Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte hotel (part of Leading Hotels of the World but without a club lounge), and Radisson Blue.
Brussels is primarily a city of business with major government-related agencies located here, such as NATO (OTAN) and the EU Headquarters. As a result, the hotels here are more corporate in nature than your romantic cities like Paris. The result is that prices are as cheap as chips at the weekend but during the week, maybe more than you want to pay to base yourself here.
I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Brussels. I list the lounges in Brussels that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.
1. Hilton Brussels Grand Place
The Hilton Brussels Grand Place is probably the best overall hotel if you are set on choosing a hotel in Brussels with a club lounge. This Hilton is in the perfect location for day tours (like Bruges) because the entrance of the hotel is 20 meters from the main station entrance, but it is also a short walk from the main sights.
If you are not a high-status Hilton Honours member, you will need to book an Executive Room to get lounge access, which gets you complimentary breakfast, snacks, and drinks throughout the day. The food here is good. Meatballs in tomato sauce, hot vegetables, at least four different types of salads, pastries, fruits, cheeses, and sausage. Red and white wine for free, along with a large selection of soft drinks (no spirits) and draft beers, including Leffe Blonde, Lager, or Wheat. If you can book a weekend or summer deal, this is a great cheap luxury hotel choice in Brussels.
2. Brussels Marriott Hotel
If you are looking for a hotel with a club lounge in Brussels, your best choice is probably the Brussels Marriott Hotel. The great thing about this hotel is that it is superbly located for all the tourist sites. It is 5 minutes from the bustling streets around the historic Grand Place and the famous statue Manneken Pis, and a 10-minute walk from Brussels Central Train Station.
The positives of the Brussels Marriott Hotel are air-conditioned rooms and a fitness center, and it is cheap, particularly at the weekends. There is an open-kitchen restaurant, and private parking facilities are available. It is, however, a bit dated and with an older Marriott feel to it. Rooms are small and basic, and many look on to an uninteresting internal patch of grass, which is pretty depressing.
The Brussels Marriott Hotel is only 50 yards from Bourse Metro Station. Rue Neuve shopping street is a short walk away. Brussels Airport, which is on the edge of the city, is 9.6 miles away.
the Executive Lounge offers breakfast, drinks, and snacks in the evening. The lounge is on the ground floor close to the hotel entrance and is one large room with a bunch of chairs and tables. There are also two computers in a small business center in the corner.
The food in the evening is a mix of cold dishes of salad, cheeses, meats, and sweets. There are also two warm dishes, but not really enough to make a whole meal out of it. Drinks include several white and red wines as well as Hoegaarden and Stella beers, soft drinks, and juices.
Breakfast is available either at the Midtown Bar and Grill restaurant on the first floor or the executive lounge was also an option, but usually, the spread in the lounges is a lot worse than the breakfast offered at the restaurants. The buffet in the restaurant is good, with hot and cold dishes as well as a cook-to-order egg station.
The location is the main reason to stay at this hotel, but the executive lounge is a poor effort compared to other Marriotts. If you prefer to stay in Marriotts to collect Bonvoy points, bear in mind that this is not a great one. If you are looking for luxury in Brussels, the Marriott is not it, and you would do better forgoing the club lounge and staying somewhere really nice but without a club lounge.
3. Renaissance Brussels Hotel
Renaissance Brussels Hotel is largely used for business due to its proximity to the EU parliament. Book a Club King or a Club Twin, and you get access to the Renaissance executive club lounge. The Club Lounge is accessible during the weekend but only has soft drinks, water, as well as coffee and tea. The breakfast during the weekend is offered in their Parnasse Bistro, where you can enjoy an excellent full American breakfast.
The lounge itself is not very attractive. It is rather small for the large number of elite members that stay in this hotel during the week. The hotel is very well located for everything related to the European offices in Brussels but not so well located for the tourist areas, so it is not our top choice.
4. Sheraton Brussels Airport
The Sheraton Brussels Airport also has a club lounge. The rooms here are fine, and the beds are comfortable, but like the Marriott, the club lounge is fairly bad. The breakfast was just yogurt, cookies, and whole fruit. Snacks in the evening are bland and uninteresting. There is a printer and a business center, but this is not a lounge worth paying any extra for. This is where you can earn or spend your Marriott Bonvoy points.
5. Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Brussels
Brussels’ Radisson Blu is famed for its vast, soaring atrium under a glass roof, with tiers of greenery like an interior hanging garden of Babylon. It is very well located with the Grand Place, the historic heart of Brussels, just a couple of minutes’ walk away. It is also home to the Sea Grill restaurant, one of the best restaurants in Brussels.
281 rooms range in size from Standard and Business Class to the suites at this Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Brussels. Basic rooms are very small, and the Royal Business Club lounge is disappointing and not really worth the extra money.
The breakfast at this Radisson Blu is, however, pretty good, with a nice selection in the Pebble Corner, an area of the hotel that has been refurbished. On offer are fruit juices, cereals, cheeses, cold meats, plus eggs cooked to order in an open kitchen, homemade smoothies, and waffles with maple syrup. Other areas of the hotel, including the club lounge beyond the Pebble Corner, look rather in need of renovation.
Brussels’ Radisson Blu is famed for its vast, soaring atrium under a glass roof, with tiers of greenery like an interior hanging garden of Babylon. It is big, stylish, and pampering and very well located, and home to the Sea Grill restaurant, one of the best in town. The Fitness Club has a 24-hour gym packed with exercise machines and a sauna. The hotel also offers private underground parking for a fee.
6. Hotel Amigo Brussels
Hotel Amigo Brussels is, in our opinion, the best luxury hotel in Brussels. In a brilliant location, a short walk from the Grand Place and all the historic windy streets that make Brussels so special. There is no club lounge at the Hotel Amigo Brussels, but the club lounges at hotels across Brussels are pretty poor, so we would recommend booking a better hotel without a club lounge.
The recently refurbished Hotel Amigo has been restored to its rightful status as the best luxury hotel in Brussels. The Amigo opened in 1958 and is located in the center of the city, right next to the Grand Place, which is considered by many to be the most beautiful square in Europe. The square houses the city’s Town Hall and acts as a central focal point for the city, its ornate architecture drawing both residents and visitors throughout the year. In addition, many of the city’s traditions and festivals take place in the square, including the famous bi-annual flower carpet festival. A personal favorite is the summer Jazz festival that fills the streets around the Grand Place in the summer.
Hotel Amigo offers a variety of bedrooms and suites which are individual in style. The 173 rooms, of which 18 suites and 1 Royal Suite, are completely renovated and refurbished in a new, modern, and tasteful style. Some rooms have views through to the Grand Place, whilst others look out over the churches and spires of the city. Good-sized bathrooms contain mosaic details in red or green to match their marble vanity tops, and figures of Herge’s characters Tintin, Snowy the dog, and Captain Haddock enliven the walls with a touch of humor. Guestrooms feature air-conditioning, computer, and fax connections with digital and analog lines, two-line phones, voice messaging, interactive satellite television, a minibar, a safe, and a trouser press.
The multi-awarded Ristorante Bocconi offers simple, authentic Italian cuisine using fresh Italian produce served in a warm and contemporary Mediterranean atmosphere. The restaurant décor features cheerful colors on the walls and framed handpainted porcelain plates created by Piero Fornasetti. Extensive windows allow you to look out over the cobbled streets and take in the hustle and bustle of the area. Hotel Amigo also features a bar and a lobby lounge, a fitness center, and a private car park with valet parking along with a 24-hour business center.
7. Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Brussels
So where should you stay in Brussels if you want luxury? We think there are three best choices. Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Brussels, Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte hotel, and Sofitel Brussels Le Louise.
the luxury hotel Steigenberger Wiltcher’s is located on the exclusive shopping promenade Avenue Louise in the heart of Brussels. Note that this hotel is some distance from the Grand Place, which is a “must-see” if you are a tourist in the city, and is also the nicest area to wander around in the evening as it is packed with restaurants and bars. We are therefore not keen on the location of this luxury hotel.
The 267 first-class rooms, which include 42 magnificent suites, offer a high level of comfort and are the most spacious in the city. All rooms feature marbled bathrooms, including a separate bath and shower. With their high ceilings and understated, elegant décor and layouts, the hotel’s rooms provide a space in which you can relax.
The Steigenberger Wiltcher’s is home to a number of spaces where you can relax and enjoy delicious food. Start the day by recharging your batteries with a superb breakfast at CAFE WILTCHER’S.
THE LIBRARY is the ideal spot for catching your breath and restoring your energy levels, all while browsing through a wide selection of books. Comfort food is the order of the day in the afternoon, with cakes, pastries, and hot drinks all being served.
Open every day, the LOUI BAR & RESTAURANT invites you to sample its varied menu and try the most amazing cocktails. Although the hotel operates a no-smoking policy, a cigar club is open to members (admission free for hotel guests) in the D-LOUNGE, a Davidoff smoking room where you can smoke in peaceful surroundings without disturbing other guests.
Finish your day on a high note and embark on a personal journey of well-being at the SPA ASPRIA, with direct access from the hotel. Families will particularly love the thoughtful amenities at this hotel, from toys to child-size bathrobes.
8. Sofitel Brussels Le Louise
Step from fashionable Avenue Louise into the eclectic chic of the 5-star luxury hotel, Sofitel Brussels Le Louise. This is a beautiful hotel, well situated for the fashion shops but not the tourist sites or evening fun at pretty restaurants. Inspired by Belgian traditions and French elegance, Antoine Pinto creates a glamorous design experience mixing flavors and styles.
Nestled amid quiet streets lined with chestnut trees, designer boutiques, and art deco mansions, this hotel makes stunning plays on color and light. Step into theatrical interiors by renowned architect Antoine Pinto with ruby pink crystal chandeliers, a translucent wall carved with lace patterns, and soft lavender lighting Fornasetti cushions.
Savor scrumptious suppers and relaxed Sunday brunches by award-winning chef Adwin Fontein in Crystal Lounge restaurant and bar. Out on a vast garden terrace, sip espresso, listening to chirping birds and church bells.
Wake gently in a Sofitel MyBed and rinse off sleep in a rain shower with Hermès and Lanvin lotions. White leather dark wood and shades of deep purple and gold swirl transform 169 Brussels hotel rooms into glamorous urban cocoons.
In Crystal Lounge, a gourmet restaurant in Brussels with an adjoining bar, cigar lounge, and terrace, the art de la table is as exquisite as the menu. Recline on leather banquettes and toast your delicious meal with handmade amethyst crystal glasses.
Backlit shelves of crystal decanters handmade by Belgian craftsmen line their stylish bar in Brussels while music resonates from live DJs some evenings. Behind the bar, Belgium’s most celebrated mixologist conjures up champagne cocktails.
