Why We Love This Hotel

Located close to the popular resort of Hersonissos (which is without question one of the most cosmopolitan places you will find on the island), the Creta Maris Beach Resort is the perfect choice for families or couples wanting a touch of luxury on their holiday to Crete. The resort, bursting with Cretan tradition, is a retreat where guests can experience the local cuisine and way of life.

Location

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and understandably a most popular travel destination – well renowned for its white mountains, beautiful beaches and traditional Mediterranean climate. The resort itself is situated a 10-minute walk from the town of Hersonissos with its sweeping sandy bays and crystal clear water. It is a beehive of activity and well known for its nightlife with many bars, restaurants and taverns dotted along the seafront.

Best Time To Visit

The climate in Crete is one of the best in Europe, and the warmest weather is between late May and early October when it’s sunny, hot, and the water is perfect for swimming. Unlike some other resorts, half of the shops and hotels are open all year round; in contrast to the rest of Crete where many hotels and restaurants are only open only during the Summer season. There is always something to see and do!

How To Get There

Flying to Crete from the UK is very easy as direct flights are available from many UK airports and you can be there in just under 4 hours. British Airways, Aegean Airlines, Easyjet, TUI Airways and Jet2 all offer direct flights from London to Heraklion airport. The Creta Maris Beach Resort is just a 25-minute drive away (24km) and so you can be checking-in in no time at all.

Style & Character

Set on a secluded beach, the eco-friendly Creta Maris Beach Resort is in an absolutely stunning location. The rooms are laid out in a Greek village style with quaint twisting paths and small piazzas filled with the aroma and colours of a wide variety of trees and flowers. For certain you will experience a unique combination of Aegean Architecture, Cretan hospitality and high-quality all-inclusive services.

Service & Facilities

Overlooking the gorgeous private sandy beach, the luxurious Creta Maris Beach Resort is the perfect choice, offering a wide range of activities for families and couples to choose from throughout the day and in the evenings. Facilities at this extensive resort include numerous pools to soak up the sun by, an open-air cinema, an ultra-modern spa and a broad range of restaurants. The staff are so friendly and really couldn’t do enough for you, and the food first rate – accompanied by a serving of fantastic service.

The main pool is a good size and where most guests tend to gather, but there are plenty of other smaller pools dotted around the resort so you really are spoilt for choice. For families, there is a kids club (4-11 years) and teenagers club (12-15 years) from July to August, so after a hard day by the pool why not take advantage of this facility and treat yourself to one of the many treatments available in the luxury fully serviced spa. There is such a wide range of services on offer specially designed not just to treat the body but also to relax the mind. Pure bliss!

If you are looking for something a bit more upbeat, the resort boasts a brand new state of the art waterpark for those who enjoy the thrill of record-breaking slides, rides and aqua towers! The choices for fun, entertainment, sports activities but also relaxation, exercising and beauty really are endless at the Creta Maris Beach Resort.

Rooms

The resort itself is like a Greek village with rooms in the two main buildings, Maris & Terra. Alternatively, there is a choice of bungalows which are linked together with winding pathways and beautiful floral gardens. The rooms are naturally light and airy, and there are plenty of room types available offering different views. All suites and bungalows are spacious and come equipped with all necessary amenities offering either a balcony or a terrace.

Best Rooms

The sea view rooms are amazing and you will be guaranteed to see some of the most stunning sun-rises in your life. The beautiful and spacious ‘Collection Suites’ offer a wonderful sea view, 1-2 bedrooms, 1 sitting room, 1-2 bathrooms with bathtub, a balcony or a terrace. Meanwhile, the Creta Maris Pool Villa offers a waterfront villa that will exceed your expectations with its spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea and discreet luxury.

Food & Drink

At the Creta Maris Beach Resort, food is definitely one of the highlights. Trying the delicious local delicacies is all part of the fun on holiday and at this resort, you can certainly feast on a vast choice of local and international specialities. One of the ‘food highlights’ for me has to be Cochlias Restaurant, overlooking the beach which serves themed buffet meals. The barbecue evening with its plethora of meat dishes, as well as wide range of freshly prepared salads and starters, is truly excellent.

For those preferring a la carte, Pithos and Platia restaurants both serve carefully prepared Cretan cuisine which is out of this world. Estia serves late breakfast then transforms into an Italian buffet, serving crusty pizzas and fresh pasta in the evening, whilst Almyra is the place to go for drinks and snacks. It is worth mentioning that although the resort supports local production of drinks, as part of the all-inclusive package international brands of spirits are also available. Wherever you decide to dine in this resort, you really are spoilt for choice with 6 excellent restaurants to choose from.
