Book A Hotel

The only way to travel around Fiji’s stunning 300-odd islands is by air: fabulous views, luxury aircraft, and super convenient. We love Pacific Island Air as they can fly you in seaplanes, helicopters, or more traditional fixed-wing aircraft and are perfect for resort and island transfers, scenic flights, charters, adventure packages, or commercial operations.

About Pacific Island Air

Pacific Island Air is the only domestic airline to offer the flexibility of helicopter, air, or seaplane in Fiji. They can fly virtually anywhere you wish to go in Fiji’s beautiful, tropical paradise. Operating since 2012, they are conveniently based at the Nadi Airport domestic terminal. The terminal is just a 2-minute walk from the Nadi International Airport, so you can be met from your international flight and personally escorted to the Pacific Island Air check-in. Their fleet of ten aircraft is the largest domestic fleet in Fiji and includes four seaplanes, four helicopters, and two fixed-wing light aircraft. They pride themselves on their excellent safety record; they are backed by the highly reputable New Zealand company – GCH Aviation, meaning the aircraft are meticulously maintained by a highly trained team of engineers.

Transfers

Pacific Island Air flies to all Fiji island resorts, and you can be transferred to your oceanside Fiji resort in literally minutes. They operate regular daily flight transfers to the Mamanuca Islands and Yasawa Islands, as well as the Sun Coast area. Most islands in the Mamanuca group are between a 10 to 20-minute flight away, and the Yasawa Islands are between a 20 to 30-minute flight. They also fly helicopters to the Coral Coast on a daily basis and can take you to the Northern Islands, such as Taveuni, Savusavu, SUVA, and Nausori by private charter.

Although technically transfers, Pacific Island Air makes the most of your time in the air. The pilots are not only highly trained but also passionate about the stunning islands of Fiji and love entertaining their passengers and pointing out highlights, making so much more of the experience than a normal flight.

You don’t even have to narrow yourself to just one option. You can combine your vessels to ensure that you get to experience both and have the best value. So, take a seaplane on your way to your resort, and on the return flight, opt to go by helicopter; two fabulous experiences for less. Your only problem will be when the flights are this much fun and the views this spectacular. You may wish your transfer took longer!

Scenic Flights

To really see the best of Fiji, why not take a scenic flight where you can sit back and be cruised in luxury by air? Catch a tantalizing glimpse of hidden tropical sanctuaries, and admire the miles of pristine coastline, palm-lined beaches, and crystal clear water. Inland, marvel at the rugged landscapes with spectacular rainforests and mountain peaks. It’s an unforgettable way to see this tropical paradise from a different perspective. Choose from a half-hour Taste of Fiji flight, a 45-minute Island Discovery Tour, a 55-minute Ultimate Helicopter Scenic Flight With Stop Off, or a fabulous Mystery Flight where you turn up with no idea where you’ll be taken; wonderful for that extra special gift or occasion.

Amphibious Seaplanes

My favorite craft in Pacific Island Air’s fleet is definitely the amazing and unique amphibious seaplanes. There’s nothing quite like the thrill and experience of a waterfront landing, and there’s something very romantic about arriving directly at your resort’s beach by seaplane. All the seats on the seaplanes are window seats. Each has a set of headphones that allow the pilot to talk to you during the flight, pointing out the various islands and resorts, giving you an extra special experience; what a way to start your Fiji holiday.
