Book A Stay

Most visits to Mexican involve (or at least they certainly should!) a trip to the stunning Yucatán Peninsula; the waters and beaches of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, ancient Maya ruins and colonial cities – this is a luxury traveller’s natural habitat. Less than a kilometre from the sea you’ll find the charming Casa Don Gustavo Boutique Hotel, the perfect place to call home for your stay.

Location

The hotel is tucked on a cobbled street in the historic centre of Campeche. The Mexican state of Campeche on the Yucatán Peninsula is a wonderful meld of art, history and the natural world, with those stunning Gulf of Mexico beaches, limestone hills, rainforests and its namesake colonial capital harbour city. The city has unsurprisingly been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s gorgeous with baroque Spanish architecture, cobblestone streets and a walled historic district. The hotel is right near the city’s historic gates and to the imposing Cathedral of Campeche and the Museum of Mayan Culture. For explorers, the meeting point for departures to Edzná and Calakmul archeological sites is located nearby too.

Style & Character

The hotel boasts an elegant heritage setting being set in a lovingly restored, 18th-century mansion. The feel of a traditional eighteenth century Campeche home is maintained and the hotel has an exquisite collection of furniture and objects d’art to admire. This has all been bought very nicely up to date and the amenities are modern and luxurious with all the mod cons that one would expect.

Service & Facilities

Impressively for your central location there is an outdoor swimming pool so you can relax after a busy day exploring with a swim, in room massages can also be arranged to take the relaxation to the next level! There is a 24-hour front desk and the service is warm, very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to speak to them about your arrival too as free private parking is available at a nearby location and airport transfers and shuttle services are also available on request.

Rooms

There’s something a little special and unique about each of the 10 suites. There are three options for your suite: the Estándar Suites, the Junior Suites and the Master Suites. The Estándar Suites are located on the first and second floor of the house around the Central Patio and are comfortable and spacious rooms but an upgrade to a Junior Suite gets you that bit more grandeur as well as stunning pieces such as a beautiful crystal chandelier or an imposing Victorian closet. For the ultimate room, opt for the Master Suites; one features Louis XVI style walnut veneer furniture, said once to belong to General Salvador Alvarado, Governor of Yucatán and the other has a striking brass headboard and gilded bronze, crystal chandeliers. Both suites have a beautiful waiting room and balcony overlooking the 59th Street tourist corridor linking the gates of land and sea.

Food & Drink

A delicious breakfast, lunch and a la carte dinner is served at Restaurante Don Gustavo which is located in the charming central courtyard area.
