Book A Stay

As an antidote to the pace of modern life and modern technology, many of us are turning to wellness in our daily lives. To fully nurture your body and soul, why not take a wellness retreat; find your own little corner of paradise and take some time out to fully restore. Well, we’ve done the finding bit for you! SOUKYA International Holistic Health Centre in India is a unique residential holistic and integrative medical facility that treats the whole body using a range of therapies including Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga & Naturopathy, and over 30 Complementary Therapies like Reflexology, Acupressure, Acupuncture, and Dietetics.

Location

The center is located on a 30-acre organic eco-friendly farm (which is smoking and alcohol-free) in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka in South India. It is 21kms from the heart of Bangalore and 50kms from the International Airport. This is a truly beautiful paradise location; an all-year-round warm climate creates stunning lush, serene grounds with exotic flowers, over 3000 trees, Organic vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, and over 100 species of birds. There are several notable temples in the area, the gardens and parks of Bangalore are worth a visit and the staff will happily walk with you to two nearby villages.

Style & Character

There are nine main buildings at the center all built around beautiful oval filled landscaped lawns and colorful flowers. The architecture uses a South Indian traditional style with low-lying rooftops that fit the surroundings perfectly, the interior reflects tradition too, but with some fabulous contemporary flourishes.

Service & Facilities

The Holistic Health Centre is owned and managed by a world-renowned holistic health practitioner Dr. Mathai and opened in 2002. There is a vast open-air circular yoga and meditation hall with space for group yoga sessions and meditation, as well as two smaller rooms for one-to-one yoga; it’s definitely worth making use of these rooms as they are simply charming; overlooking a small pond area filled with lotuses. There is a therapy center with 44 treatment rooms; there are massage rooms and rooms for specialized Ayurvedic treatments. There are also separate rooms devoted to specific hydrotherapy treatments: circular and horizontal jets, immersion baths, deluxe underwater massage, colonics, whirlpool Jacuzzis and spinal, hip, arm, and footbaths. Outside you’ll find a color therapy area and mud pack area, with a traditionally decorated freestanding Turkish bath.

Upon arrival, your individual treatment program is devised following a medical evaluation by doctors. It is incredibly restorative and relaxing making use of these facilities in such a tranquil location, it’s no exaggeration to say that you will leave a different person from the one who arrived.

If you want to stretch the legs, there’s a 2km trail around the whole site, ideal for an evening jog or cycle ride. For downtime, there’s a gaming area with a billiards table, table tennis, and other games as well as outdoor volleyball and shuttle courts. There is an elegant full-size swimming pool plus a smaller pool that benefits from shade from the overarching trees, the perfect spot to read and relax after a treatment.

The credibility of the center is further enhanced when you realize that the guest list includes repeat visits by Prince Charles’s wife, HRH Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, and Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu among many other recognizable names and faces.

Rooms

There are 25 spacious rooms, choose from Two-Bedroom Cottages or Deluxe Rooms. All the rooms have private gardens, the ideal spot to practice yoga, or catch some sun. The cottages offer a little more space and benefit from a living and dining area too.

Food & Drink

Meals are served in the Dining Hall and the food is a special fresh, healthy ovo-vegetarian cuisine designed by the center’s nutritionist, Dr.Suja Issac, which makes full use of the organic gardens and fruit orchards. There is a spacious formal area with views across the pretty lit gardens, an informal juice and salad area, and two outdoor dining areas set in the beautiful grounds.
