Transport : Airlines

I have flown with Swiss Airlines a number of times and have reviewed their long haul flights in First Class. My trip reports can be found below.

Swiss is part of the Lufthansa group and has the reputation of being one of Europe’s best airlines, offering a great onboard product. The cabin design on Swiss is muted but sophisticated in grey and white, high-quality fabrics and spotlessly clean. Swiss recently updated its First Class product on its Boeing 777-300ER; the seats, the cabin, the food and the service. It now offers one of the best First Class products in the sky on it’s B777.

Pre-flight, if you fly out of Zurich Airport you will be given access to the excellent Swiss First Lounge E In Zurich Airport, which is a great and natural feeling lounge with lots of woods and a relaxing vibe. The lounge only recently opened and offers an impressive eating area offering a la carte food (rather than a buffet) which was excellent and delivered fast. This lounge also has a wine and Champagne cellar, which you can choose from. Unusually, there is also a large outdoor terrace all around the lounge ideal for watching the planes come and go. Binoculars were provided if you were interested.

Swiss airlines falls down slightly with it’s pretty basic amenity kits in Business and First. No pyjamas are provided in Swiss Business Class but you get a pair of Zimmerli pyjamas in First.

Even though Swiss may not have over-the-top things like year-round caviar, showers on planes, terminal-sized lounges and direct boarding from the lounge, what it lacks there, it definitely gains from having more personable and genuine personable staff and superb Swiss food.

Below you will find my most recent flight reviews on Swiss in First Class – you can draw your own conclusions.
