Book A Stay

Somewhere new always tempts me and somewhere new and fabulous is obviously even better! I love staying at a hotel before the crowds get there and Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is a great choice; from their position perched high on a cliff there are epic views across Kalim Bay and out to the Andaman Sea beyond, the rooms are gorgeous, especially those with a private pool, and the food is divine.

Location

The hotel is located in Kathu in Phuket and is just 31km from Phuket International Airport so couldn’t be easier to reach and the hotel lays on a shuttle service for a small fee. It’s the perfect place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach but yet be near enough that you can take advantage of everything on offer there. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus which takes you directly to the pristine sands of beautiful Patong Beach. Catch up on some overdue relaxation time on the beach or get adventurous; ride the elephants at the Siam Safari or see the big cats at Tiger Kingdom. Old Phuket Town or Jungceylon are great for shopping or for a cultural hit, marvel the golden Buddha at Wat Khao Rang; the hotel runs excursions to these and several other destinations locally.

Style & Character

Modern, Asian inspired design helps to remind you that you are in Thailand, but really, you only need look out the huge windows to know that; it’s the views that really capture your soul here and they are what stays with you long after you return home.

Service & Facilities

The rooftop pool is positioned high up so that the views are even better; have a swim, lay in the sun and sip on a cocktail from the swim-up Deck Bar. There’s more to come too, the hotel informs us that a massive pool area, state of the art fitness centre, a wellness spa unique to Phuket and further dining options are on their way later this year. The service here is simply charming; sincere, courteous and very reflective of the Thai culture.

Rooms

There are 194 rooms and villas and it’s hard to find a room that doesn’t offer an ocean view; I’d certainly recommend that yours does! All the usual room amenities are included but it’s the little extras that make the difference; the TV has USB and HDMI connections – so handy these days and there’s a coffee machine, but it’s the floor to ceiling windows that really make the rooms; they bring those heavenly views right into your bedroom, this has to be THE way to wake up. The Suites and Villas all have private pools, I’d personally say that this is a must; there’s few more romantic and relaxing places to be than lazing on your own private terrace, taking an occasional dip and drinking in the panoramic ocean views.

Food & Drink

Latitude 98 is the main restaurant here, it serves delectable Thai fusion cuisine with international flavours, the chef is friendly and accommodating to requests. Breakfast is a treat; a beautifully presented buffet with a huge variety of dishes. The Deck has a more informal atmosphere; perfect for lunch or an afternoon cocktail and there’s also the Infiniti Lobby Bar; an elegant lounge which is the place to go to watch the sunset over the ocean.
