Forget Glastonbury. We can suggest a summer event which is much more sophisticated and combines fine wines with wonderful music.

For two days and two nights – commencing on Saturday 8th July 2017 – the roots, vines, and people of Pommard will come alive with the sound of awesome music. The Stage is Set: Clos Marey-Monge, and the entire grounds of the estate, will transform for Rootstock.

What Is Rootstock?

This July, a fantastic feast of music, wine and gastronomy bind with the vines of Clos Marey-Monge for a weekend like no other on the Burgundy calendar, a perfect way to celebrate 80 years of the Route des Grand Crus, which was established in 1938.

Across two stages, international and home-grown artists will make your ears smile, celebrated local chefs will delight your tastebuds and, of course, Château de Pommard will provide delectable fine wine and drinks that will inspire your body to swoon and sway to the international sounds of music’s finest jazz, rock, and pop artists.

“Rootstock is a two-day live music spectacular where everyone is welcome,” said Charlotte Fougére Tampereau, the event’s organizer. “It’s the first music festival of Pommard in the 21st century, and we hope the first of many! It’s time for this famous wine village to become the hot social hub of Burgundy.”

Spread over two days, with each day taking its own musical inspiration, Rootstock has now announced a line-up of several rock and jazz acts – each one able to illuminate the eardrums of every type of music fan.

On Saturday, revelers can get down and dirty among the vines of Clos Marey-Monge with a choice selection of premier rock and roll bands. The view will be as good as the music. And the wine will be even better.

On Sunday it’s Jazz! Cool bands from all over the place will be swingin’ in Clos Marey-Monge to get the crowd swaying in sync with the vines.

Château de Pommard is located in the Côte d’Or, one of the hottest spots for famed French gastronomy. Indeed, the region welcomes the highest number of Michelin star chefs than any other in the country. The Rootstock menu proudly boasts the very best of this spectacular region, offering a variety of delicious treats from a range Burgundy’s finest quality restaurateurs, the perfect pairing for that glass of wine you can’t stop thinking about.

Located at Château de Pommard, you can buy a ticket (from €40 EUR to €950 EUR) and spend Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, July 2017. For more details about Rootstock 2017, contact rootstock@chateaudepommard.com
