InterContinental Dubai Marina Review

If you fancy a holiday that is a perfect mix of exploring a fascinating city, luxury shopping and relaxing on the beach, then Dubai has to be top of your list. The InterContinental Dubai Marina is the perfect hotel from which to explore Dubai; not only are you based in the heart of the exciting marina area but you are close to some of the major landmarks, such as Dubai Marina Mall and Dubai Media City and within walking distance of the gorgeous beach too! Dubai is well served with flights from London and with a journey time of around 7 hours, this is one of those great destinations where you feel a world away but it really doesn’t take you very long to get here.

The design of the hotel is just what you’d expect from Dubai; ultra-modern, ultra-stylish and ultra-luxurious. Contemporary sculptures, flashes of colour and fabulous lighting installations add a unique twist. The hotel offers 9 restaurants and bars, with a Michelin-starred chef and expert sommeliers in attendance, plus it has an outdoor pool, Spa and Health Club.

There is a choice of classic rooms, executive rooms or suites. All the rooms are spacious, modern and impeccably designed and include the usual amenities that you would expect plus complimentary Wi-Fi. The executive Club rooms give access to the Club InterContinental Lounge which offers light dining and drinks. But of course it’s the suites that offer guests the most luxurious package, simply lavish in space and design, they have surely got to be the room of choice if you’re not overly budget conscious.

Restaurants & Bars
With 9 high quality, stunning restaurants and bars to choose from, the problem will be finding time to visit them all! The range is diverse and includes a deli, a gin bar, a social dining restaurant, an a la carte cosmopolitan restaurant and a shisha lounge to name but a few! The food and service has a truly international flair and it’s no exaggeration to say that you will probably find whatever takes your fancy is on offer here.

Pool & Activities
The triangular shaped outdoor pool is a delight; with inviting loungers, a magnificent view and the promise of a fabulous cocktail; this is relaxing Dubai-style. The hotel’s Spa can also help with the relaxation and I’d recommend booking a treatment after you’ve indulged in shopping or sightseeing to melt away any tensions. Using ESPA products, the trained therapists offer a personalised treatment package to ensure you leave an altogether rejuvenated version of yourself.

For exploring this amazing city, the tram stops right outside so it’s very easy to hop on and off. There are also taxis outside constantly if you prefer a slightly more comfortable ride! Dubai Marina Mall is only a 15 minute walk away and for a taste of the more traditional Dubai, the souks are an experience like no other; the sights, sounds and smells of these amazing markets will stay with you long after you return home. Jumeirah Beach is only a short walk from the hotel and of course the Marina area itself is fabulous – truly the place to be and the place to be seen, this vibrant 2 mile stretch of luxurious hotels and restaurants comes alive at night.

Insider Info
Ask for a room with a balcony that has a view of the Marina – perfect to wake up to and extra fabulous by night.

There really isn’t a better hotel from which to explore the fascinating city of Dubai; with it’s fabulous location in the heart of the Marina, you can see exactly why the InterContinental Dubai Marina is known as the ultimate lifestyle and dining experience!
