Samujana Luxury Villas is an award winning resort, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious estates on Koh Samui. Located on the north east coast, it overlooks a beautiful coral bay and boasts stunning, architect designed villas dripping with luxury features, uninterrupted sea views and an all but private beach. It’s a truly spectacular travel destination, and you might be forgiven for not wanting to set foot outside the complex for the duration of your stay. However, if you do, it’s just minutes away from the stunning beaches of Choeng Mon and Chaweng. Singapore Airlines offer flights from Gatwick to Koh Samui via Singapore, while Samujana itself is located less than 10 minutes’ drive from Koh Samui airport.

The Estate
First launched in 2012, this luxurious and much sought-after resort is the result of the hard work and vision of a team of architects led by the award-winning Gary Fell. Each villa is unique and individually designed, with great care taken to use locally sourced materials and to create a feeling of openness and harmony with the natural environment, a feature reinforced by the fact that many of the living spaces have been left open to the elements. Opulence is also very much in evidence, and every villa boasts spacious air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, oversized bathtubs, TV lounges or private cinemas (with international channels available) and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests will also be able to choose from 8 streaming music mood channels exclusively created for Samujana by Music Eye View. In addition to this, guests will also enjoy in-villa dining menus, dedicated villa staff, rooftop terraces or gardens, a private infinity pool and stunning, panoramic sea views. There is a wealth of wonderful programmes year-round from the Songkran celebrations at Thai New Year to the unique Yoga and Muay Thai boxing retreats. The villas range in size from three to eight bedrooms, so whether you’re after a cosy couple’s retreat, a family holiday or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion with a larger group, Samujana can accommodate you.

Example Villas
Villa 11a is a duplex, three bedroom villa with a beautiful landscaped garden featuring natural rock formations and a stunning salt water infinity pool. Each of the three bedrooms has a king size bed, safe, hairdryer and ensuite bathroom, at least one of which boasts an oversized bathtub and rain shower. There is a television lounge, open air living and dining area and a chic, fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar. The villa has private parking, poolside barbeque and breath taking sea views. On the private roof deck, you can enjoy a sunset yoga session or simply relax with a cocktail.

Villa 11b is very similar in size and layout to 11a and boasts many of the same features. It has glorious views across the private salt water infinity pool to the coral bay beyond, and the open air living area and modern kitchen have been perfectly positioned to allow guests to enjoy the best of them. This villa also benefits from a television lounge with a 50 inch cable TV, DVD player and a vast digital library of movies and music. Also a three bedroom villa, each room has a king size bed, safe, hairdryer and ensuite bathroom, at least one of which boasts an oversized bathtub and rain shower. Guests staying at 11b can also enjoy an additional full bathroom.

Dining
When it comes to dining, there are plenty of options at Samujana. With a fully equipped kitchen and poolside barbeque at your disposal, you may choose to prepare your own meals. In this case, your Guest Experience Manager will be happy to take care of the food shopping for you. Alternatively, why not take advantage of your own private chef to cook dinner in your villa? If you fancy a picnic on the beach, this can be arranged too, and as for restaurants, there are plenty to choose from in Koh Samui, from small, traditional Thai eateries to larger establishments serving world class international cuisine. If it’s recommendations you’re after, the Samujana team will happily advise you and even make reservations on your behalf.

Pool and Activities
Each villa boasts its own private infinity pool and stunning sunbathing area, but if you can bear to tear yourself away, there are plenty of other activities to take advantage of at Samujana. Keen sailors can hire one of the resort’s yachts or motorboats, while there’s world class diving and snorkelling to enjoy at Koh Tao. Outside the resort, you can take a tour to discover some of the beautiful temples and waterfalls of Koh Samui, and when you get back, why not unwind with a massage at your villa or a private yoga session? There are also plenty of stunning beaches around from the essentially private one at Samujana itself to the popular Chaweng.

Insider Info
The walk back to the villas from the beach might prove a little tricky for younger children.
For a truly exceptional luxury stay in a dream location, Samujana is very tough to beat!
