Finca Cortesin Review, Marbella

Finca Cortesin

Located In Spain

Perfectly located between Marbella and Sotogrande in the center of the Costa del Sol, the Finca Cortesin, set on a massive 215-hectare estate, is the perfect year-round sunshine retreat just a few hours from London.

This 5-star luxury hotel features a Championship Golf Course and Jack Nicklaus golf academy, Hotel, Villas, Spa, Sports Club, and Beach Club. Set in Rolling Countryside flanked by the Casares mountains, you can shut yourself away in this sumptuous retreat and forget there is a world outside.

Although the resort was recently built, it feels like a converted historic building, with a Moroccan courtyard, a stone floor from an 18th-century convent, and antique doors salvaged from castles. The grounds house beautiful thousand-year-old olive trees brought over from Sicily and lovingly replanted. The Spa here is superb and offers massages and collagen or caviar facials. Three mosaic tiled outdoor pools will tempt you to take a dip whilst the heated saltwater indoor pool is there for the very occasional overcast day.

67 stylish suites are furnished in a provincial style with marble bathrooms and Penhaligon’s toiletries

Beach Club
Hit the beach at the beach club 1 km away using the complimentary hotel shuttle.

The food at Finca Cortesin is light and modern, The chic Blue Bar will tempt you for an after-dinner drink, whilst there is a Spanish-themed restaurant, the Italian restaurant Don Giovanni and Kabuki Raw where Japanese meets Mediterranean cuisine.

Breakfast is served al fresco looking over the gardens and on towards the Mediterranean. The magnificent tapas buffet served here is brought to your table so you don’t have to suffer the indecency of queuing for your scrambled egg – not that you are likely to choose scrambled egg here. Start with vanilla shots, miniature bakes, and local cheeses and delicatessen and follow with an indulgent main like the Cortesian omelet with Manchego cheese and black truffle.

Wander around through the gardens, palatial halls, and jungly courtyards letting the scents of patchouli, lavender, and jasmine waft over you, this fragrant haven is heavenly and does not disappoint.

British Airways flies from London Gatwick and London City airport to Malaga (45 Minutes drive to Finca Cortesin), and London Heathrow to Gibraltar (35 mins drive away). We fly with Flybe from Southampton Airport to Malaga.
