Enjoy a 5-night all-inclusive stay (Sunday to Thursday night only) for two guests in a King Room (either a King Loft or a Canopy King) at Hotel Grinnell, a stylish, luxury boutique hotel located in an ex-Junior High School in downtown Grinnell in Iowa.
Stay includes all food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and use of the fitness center and free bikes to explore the local area. Stay is valued at approximately $2,500 USD / £2,340 GBP*. Please note all additional purchases, treatments, excursions, etc., must be paid for by the winner separately.
Auction Stay Dates: to be booked in advance and stay taken Sunday to Thursday night only, before 28 February 2023, subject to availability. Note: try to book as far in advance as possible, as weekends are very popular, especially in September, October, May, and June, and get booked up fast.
The edgy Hotel Grinnell offers a superb downtown Grinnell location, where guests can walk to restaurants, shops, entertainment, arts, and recreational activities. Previously a Junior High until the 1970s, the hotel is decorated with luxury furnishings, including hardwood and terrazzo floors throughout, a living wall in the lobby, and quirky touches that nod to the building’s history, including ‘not now’ school ties to hang on your door.
This luxurious, stylish, and contemporary hotel comprises 43 guest rooms and two bunk rooms. All guests can enjoy a complimentary daily breakfast from 7 to 9 am, use of complimentary bikes, on-site parking, newspapers to read in the lounge, high-speed wifi throughout, a 24-hour business center, reception desk, and digital and in-person concierge between 7 am to 11 pm, 24-hour fitness room (with treadmills, free weights, fitness balls, etc.), on-site ballroom and theatre.
In terms of dining, the hotel features The Periodic Table Bar and Patio with giant scrabble, shuffleboard, the old school scoreboard in the bar, fire pits, music, bags game, and overhead string lighting on the patio. The Periodic Table serves a light breakfast and drinks from 3 pm and food from 4 pm daily.
The winner and their guest will be staying in a King Room (either a King Loft or a Canopy King). The 250sqft. King Loft features hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, exciting art, an unusual lounge chair, and an ensuite with a tiled shower or tub-shower combination. The 300sqft. Canopy King Room offers a canopy king bed with a cozy seating area featuring a twin sleeper and an ensuite with a tiled shower, along with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and soaring windows. Guests will also benefit from a yoga mat (on request), 42″ flat panel Smart HDTV with 110 channels, in-room content streaming from a personal device, handy bedside device charging stations, locally crafted steel furniture, a mini refrigerator with beverages and snacks (to purchase for an additional fee), blackout shades, luxury Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes, sheets and duvets, pillow top mattresses, and premium organic, environmentally friendly bath products.
