InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu is a contemporary haven nestled in a historical landmark in the center of the capital of gastronomy: Lyon. Set in the heart of the Presqu’île in downtown Lyon, the monumental main entrance lies on a traffic-busy quay across from the Rhône river. The hotel itself is one of the city’s most emblematic historical landmarks, originally dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Views from the hotel are stunning whether you are overlooking the river Rhône or on the historically listed courtyards. Stylish bedrooms blend original architectural features with on-trend contemporary design, while dining is modern Lyonnais and the cocktail bar has become a local A-lister address.
The hotel interior features sumptuous silks contrasted against rustic stone-flag flooring, along with an impressive wall of antiquarian medicinal books behind the reception. A soaring coffered dome ceiling and central altar-like floral display in the hotel bar are stunning and give a gentle nod to the hotel’s unique past as the city’s maternity hospital from 1493 until 2010.

The hotel boasts 144 rooms across three floors, each enjoying road-and-river or peaceful courtyard views. The winner and their guest will be staying in a stunning 355 ft² Executive Rhone River View Room with flat-screen satellite TV, work desk and wardrobes.
