Book A Hotel

We have reviewed hotels in Phuket, Thailand, with the best club or executive lounges to help you decide on the best choice. Phuket is a quick one-hour-ish flight southwest of Bangkok. If you only plan to overnight in Bangkok on your way to Phuket, we have reviewed the best hotel club lounges in Bangkok.

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, offering dozens of beautiful hotels and resorts on soft, white-sand beaches. The high season in Phuket runs from October through April. The best areas to stay in Phuket include Patong, where you will find Marmite-style raucous nightlife, which you will either love or hate. You can choose from the two beach areas on Phuket’s west coast, lively Karan, and more family-friendly Kata. Kata Beach is a palm tree-lined white sand beach that’s fringed with great restaurants and lively nightlife. It’s split into two halves; closer to Karon is Kata Noi, while Kata Yai is the prettier section where you’ll find resorts and more luxurious places to eat and drink. Travel to Bangtao for a six-kilometer stretch of soft white sand and crystal clear water, or try Kamala, a fishing village surrounded by steep jungle-packed hills and one of the most beautiful places in Phuket.

Luxury hotels in Phuket, Thailand include Amanpuri by Aman Resorts, Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, Banyan Tree Phuket, Layan Residences by Anantara, Rosewood Phuket, and Trisara, along with numerous Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott Bonvoy properties, including Westin Siray Bay: (No lounge, but Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members received two complimentary drinks vouchers per night) Le Méridien (No lounge, but platinum Marriott Bonvoy members receive two complimentary drinks per room per night at the beach bar) and Hilton and IHG properties.

Of note, the JW Marriott on Phuket does not have a club lounge, but Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members get a 20% discount on the breakfast buffet if it is not included in the room rate. However, if you book via our luxury travel concierge, you will automatically get our benefits here as well as your usual points and status benefits.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Phuket. I list the lounges in Phuket that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. InterContinental Phuket Resort

The InterContinental Phuket has one of the best club lounges on the island of Phuket. InterContinental Phuket Resort features stunning vistas of the sparkling Andaman Sea and the white sand of Kamala Beach. Each of the 221 exquisite rooms and villas is meticulously curated and blends Thai tradition with contemporary design. Locally inspired culinary delights, holistic wellness journeys, and bespoke excursions all combine to offer a unique Phuket experience.

InterContinental Phuket Resort is located on Kamala Beach, between Millionaire’s Mile and the Amanpuri headland, one of the island’s most popular destinations and perfect for travelers looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

This well-enclosed bay and fishing village situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea is surrounded by forested hills and is one of the most beautiful places in Phuket. Kamala Beach is known for its expansive white sands and crystal clear waters, providing travelers with the choice of both tranquillity and exclusivity with easy access to Phuket’s vibrant nightlife, with the popular Patong Town just a short drive away, as well as the Phuket International Airport.

The InterContinental Phuket Resort will be the sixth IHG property in the Greater Phuket area and the 19th IHG property in Thailand. It comprises a mix of villas and hotel rooms, with unobstructed views of the glittering Andaman Sea, and is surrounded by forests of pine trees.

Guests will have direct beach access, experience an exquisite gastronomic adventure with the resort’s F&B offerings, as well as enjoy breath-taking views from the swimming pool, an uncompromising spa, the Club InterContinental, the Fitness Centre, and the Kids’ Club. Designed as a complete leisure destination, the resort is also for honeymoons as well as families with kids and has an exceptional ability to cater to weddings and meeting functions.

Club InterContinental offers a brilliant club lounge with its own private pool, personalized butler and concierge service, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and sunset cocktails & canapés, located right on the beach.

The 24/7 Club InterContinental lounge is very chic, and you can enjoy the complimentary food and drink along with a selection of daily local and international newspapers and lifestyle publications.

Club guests can indulge in a range of complimentary food and beverage options: gourmet breakfast in the lounge, light refreshments, such as coffees, teas, soft drinks, mineral water, juices, and snacks, then afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés in the lounge with lots and lots of delicious canapés. The evening buffet is lots of small dishes.

2. Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort

Hyatt Regency Phuket (pictured above) offers beautiful views overlooking Kamala Cove at the southern end of Kamala Beach and is situated on a steep jungle-covered hillside, which is a good and a bad thing. It is hard work walking up the hill, but this climb is also good exercise! The wait can be lengthy if you wait for the golf buggy to ferry you about the resort. The Hyatt Regency Phuket is around half an hour’s drive ($25 USD in a taxi) ride from Phuket International Airport (HKT).

It is also worth noting that the Hyatt Regency Phuket is not directly situated on a beach. Whilst you have wonderful pools at this Hyatt, you need to take the minibus to the beach, so it is not convenient if you have kids and want to paddle. By contrast, the Grand Hyatt Bali, which features in our best club lounges in Bali, is a similar price in both cash and in World of Hyatt points and is right on the beach.

The 201 rooms at Hyatt Regency Phuket are nicely furnished with different layouts. Each one has a balcony or a terrace that is extremely private, and most have unobstructed views of the glittering Andaman Sea and its spectacular tropical sunsets. There are also 40 rooms with outdoor private plunge pools or Jacuzzis, and all rooms have marble bathrooms featuring a dual basin and a separate toilet.

One of the best things about this property is the amazing Regency Club lounge, which is considered by many to be the best Regency Club in the world and well worth paying to upgrade in either points or miles. If you are a Globalist, you get this lounge access for free.

It is a large club lounge and has a beautiful private and exclusive infinity pool for club guests overlooking the bay. You can laze with a complimentary cocktail and take in the view as the sun sets over this private club pool!

Within this club lounge, you get a complimentary breakfast with both hot and cold items and made-to-order eggs and omelets. Evening hors d’oeuvres change every day, and there is enough food to piece together a full meal. A chef station outside serves hot food, generally rice, and rotating dishes such as Thai chicken curry or various meat. There is a small selection of Western desserts. With the evening hors d’oeuvre, the spirits, wine, and beer are also free.

It is worth mentioning that the buffet breakfast at the Pool House is excellent and better than the breakfast in the club lounge, with a good selection of international hot and cold items and juices. If you are a Globalist, this breakfast is complimentary and is a better choice than the club lounge breakfast. Otherwise, it costs around $20 USD per person if it is not included in your rate.

The Hyatt Regency has the largest pool in all of Phuket, surrounded by loungers or comfy cabanas overlooking the sea. There is also a spa, an unimpressive fitness center, free, fast Wi-Fi, and a Camp Hyatt Kids Club for children 4-12. A shuttle will take you to the nearby beaches of Kamala and Patong for a small fee. The latter can be very lively. If you are a fan, it is worth booking an excursion to James Bond Island.

As mentioned above, the one thing that this hotel is missing is a beach. Kamala Beach is a reasonable non-private beach within walking distance from the hotel, but as there is no sidewalk along the road and motorbikes fly along the road at great speed, so it is not an easy walk. Alternatively, the hotel has a shuttle to take you there a few times per day.

3. Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort

Book a club room, One-Bedroom Suite, or Two-Bedroom Villa at the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort, and you get access to the Voyager 47 Club Lounge.

The Voyager 47 Club golden-thatched bungalow sits as a separate building on the lagoon’s edge and is open daily from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. It can only be accessed by guests of the Club Rooms, One-Bedroom Suites, and Two-Bedroom Villas.

The stylish and contemporary lounge offers outdoor alfresco tables and chairs as well as indoor, air-conditioned seating. Relax on sofas indoors or lounge alfresco on the terrace, which is the perfect vantage point to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the tropical lagoon.

Breakfast is an array of fruit, cereal, pastries, and hot Asian specialties, along with an à la carte breakfast menu of European favorites like eggs to order and omelets. Cool soft drinks fill the chiller, and there is plenty of tea and coffee.

You can enjoy tea, coffee, soft drinks, cakes, pastries, and sandwiches in the afternoon. In the evening, you can indulge in excellent cocktails, beer, wine, and Asian or European canapes by the Executive Chef.

Free benefits at Voyager 47 Club Lounge include:

  • Personalized guest reception and check-in
  • A la carte Club breakfast
  • All-day non-alcoholic beverages, tea and coffee
  • Light snacks from mid through to late afternoon
  • Daily evening cocktails with Chef Roberto’s personally crafted tasting plates
  • Wireless internet throughout the resort

4. Novotel Phuket Vintage Park

Novotel Phuket Vintage Park is just a 3-minute walk to the bustling Patong Beach. Novotel Phuket, Vintage Park Resort, offers stylish air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and a private balcony overlooking the spacious pool. Guests can indulge in soothing massage treatments or stay active at the small gym.

The Novotel Phuket Vintage Park is definitely one of the best hotels in Patong (Phuket), with a very large open lobby, a lovely pool with a pool bar, and free towels that are very pretty and brightly lit at night. It is a very family-friendly hotel, and in the holidays, the hotel was mainly occupied by young families. The rooms are large, and breakfast is excellent, with a huge cold buffer, egg and bacon options, and Thai curries first thing!

A huge advantage of the hotel is that it is very quiet at night even though it is right in the center of things and less than a 10-minute walk from Bangla Road and only a 5-minute walk to the beach. The other advantage is the “Le Club” club lounge which is open daily from 8:30 am – 10:30 pm and gives you the following benefits:

  • Private check-in and check-out
  • Welcome drink upon arrival
  • Early check-in and/or Late check-out (upon availability and your elites status)
  • Air conditioned waiting area
  • Free Wi-fi and Internet Corner
  • Daily Snack Buffet
  • One time complimentary drink (per person, per stay)
  • Happy Hours in the Le Club Lounge
  • Complimentary one time 15 minutes Massage (per person per stay at In Balance Spa, continued massage at a special price)
  • Personalized assistance from our Guest Relation Team

5. Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket is part of a Thai-owned and operated brand and takes its design influences from the Sino-Portuguese shops and houses, which are the main features of Phuket Old Town.

This 262 resort is situated at the quieter end of Karon Beach in Phuket. The hotel is ideal for relaxing but also exploring the nearby resort town.

Check-in is in the beautiful lobby area, with a cooling drink. Electric buggies are used to navigate the resort and to move luggage around the grounds.

Luxurious villas are the top rooms in the resort and are hidden on the private east side of the hotel with their own private entrance and grounds, and you have their own pool. If you are not staying in a villa, you will be in one of the rooms, all of which feature a balcony or terrace. Rooms can sleep two adults, and most take two adults and two children, or you can book a larger family room or a Jacuzzi suite.

The restaurant has a great selection at breakfast, as long as you don’t mind a queue, European food in addition to Thai and Chinese Asian dishes. The hotel also has a spa, gym, and a beachside restaurant called The Cove, with international and Asian food.

If you book into the villa, you can access the hotel’s club lounge to enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea, and free evening cocktails.

7. Swissotel Phuket Patong

Swissotel Phuket Patong is steps from Patong Beach and is situated at a nice prominent location in Patong, with modern rooms with 32-inch flat-screen TVs. It houses Phuket’s only Hard Rock Café, a spa, and a rooftop pool with stunning sunset views.

On the 7th floor sits Swissotel Phuket Patong’s executive club “Swiss Lounge,” which includes a round of signature cocktails, all-day canapés, and a pool table. The lounge itself is urban in style, with not much of a view and no pool.
