Book A Hotel

I have already reviewed the best airlines to fly to Europe in Premium Economy. I have picked American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, and Delta as the best airlines to travel transatlantic in Premium Economy.

Wherever you fly to, for extra benefits for your next hotel booking at any luxury hotel, it is worth requesting a quote from our Luxury Travel Concierge to get special rates, upgrades, free breakfast, hotel credit, late check-out and more. You will also get your usual loyalty points when you book with our concierge.

American Airlines are new to Premium Economy but already already sell AA Premium Economy seats (pictured above). Delta Airlines already offered Comfort Plus with extra legroom but has now launched a complete Premium Economy cabin called Delta Premium Select on long-haul aircraft.

American offers the product on its Boeing 787-9s and is installing it on its Airbus A330-200s, Boeing 777s, and 787-8s. Delta debuted its premium economy cabin on the Airbus A350-900 in October 2017 and plans to install it on other widebody aircraft soon.

United is now joining the game. Previously they offered Economy Plus, which had a 37-inch seat pitch, five inches more than economy, but otherwise no other advantages over the normal economy seats.

Now United will be offering ‘Premium Plus’, which will include the largest seats with more legroom and recline, some additional amenities, meals served on china, free alcoholic drinks, and a Saks Fifth Avenue blanket and pillow.

Unlike BA and Virgin, the American airline products are brand new with brand new seating and brand new technology, so they will probably be a better choice than BA and Virgin.

Of course, Premium Economy is not as good as Business Class, but it isn’t the price of Business Class either. For flights around 7-8 hours (e.g., New York to London or Paris) and that are not overnight, Business is a luxury rather than a necessity, so Premium Economy sits as a nice alternative.
