Book A Hotel

Which are the best All-Inclusive luxury hotels in Playa del Carmen? The best resorts include Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen, Grand Velas Riviera Mayan, Hilton Playa del Carmen, Hyatt Zilara Cancun, Hyatt Ziva Cancun, JW Marriott Resort & Spa Cancun, Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, Ritz-Carlton Cancun, and Viva Wyndham Maya.

Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico along the Yucatán Peninsula’s Riviera Maya strip of the Caribbean shoreline. Look no further if you love to lounge on the beach, serenaded by the surf. The area surrounding Riviera Maya also offers horseback riding, golfing, shark feeding, dolphin swims, snorkeling, and scuba diving on the second-longest barrier reef in the world. Step into the past with a tour of the Mayan Ruins, like seaside Tulum, or sail off into the sunset aboard a catamaran.

While some of the best hotels in and around Cancun are All-Inclusive, most of the best are not, so most of the best hotels in and around Playa del Carmen are not All-Inclusive.

The best All-Inclusive luxury hotels in Playa del Carmen are listed below:

1. Grand Velas Riviera Mayan

The All-Inclusive Grand Velas All Suites & SPA Resort is a newly opened resort that sits on the edge of the stunning white-sand shore of Playa del Carmen.

Expect exquisite accommodations, an All-Inclusive gourmet dining experience, a deluxe spa, personalized butler concierge services, and a state-of-the-art convention center. The hotel is located 5 minutes away from downtown Playa del Carmen and 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport.

The resort’s 491 spacious suites include such amenities, which include oceanfront and jungle terraces with private plunge pools, in-room massage tables, whirlpool bathtubs, 42-inch plasma TVs, wireless Internet, and 24-hour room service – all with stunning views of the ocean or lush, tropical jungle views.

The resort’s exclusive Grand Class section is designed for optimal privacy and relaxation, featuring 90 sophisticated ocean-front suites. Suites overlook the sparkling, azure waters of the Caribbean and offer a private plunge pool on the terrace and a rain shower head. Enjoy the cool night ocean breezes, or manage the interior climate with state-of-the-art temperature controls. These suites include every possible amenity to ensure that guests may bask in comfort while enjoying the richness of the breathtaking surroundings.

2. Hilton Playa del Carmen

Hilton Playa del Carmen, is a 5-star All-Inclusive Adult Only Resort with stately architecture. The hotel is just steps from the famous 5th avenue in downtown Playa del Carmen. Relax on the beach, do some laps in the Olympic-size swimming pool, work out in the fitness suite, have a play on the rooftop tennis court, or take a dip in one of the swimming pools and jacuzzis.

We love the Junior Swim Up Suite, which is perfect as you can laze by the pool just steps from your room. The resort is huge, with 11 on-site restaurants and lounges. In addition, dining around at one of eight restaurants in the adjacent Jack Gran Porto Resort is an option. The resort’s accommodation is in the form of Royal suites only, each served by the Royal Butler Service and housekeeping, who will take care of anything you need.

It is worth noting that the All-Inclusive food at this resort is really rather good, and add this to its convenient location in the center of Playa Del Carmen, and you are onto a winner.

3. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun

Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun is a luxury All-Inclusive boutique hotel in Cancun, so not actually in Playa Del Carmen, but around an hours drive from Playa instead. This hotel is worth considering as it really is a rather good All-Inclusive hotel with great food and top-notch service. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun is perched on a tranquil beach with a stunning turquoise ocean.

This is a smaller hotel than most of your other options in the hotel zone in Cancun. The hotel offers stylish decor in calming whites and greys, and the staff are brilliant. They will run you a bath, hand you a towel as you get out of the pool, and refill your poolside cocktails before you even realize you need a refill.

The pools here are lovely, with an infinity pool by the beach and a smaller pool on the terrace. Both pools offer free food and drink. For meals, there is à la carte dining with French, Italian, and Asian food included as well as room service 24/7.

4. Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Again, this hotel is in Cancun rather than playa Del Carmen, but it is worth considering as it has a better beach and better pools than most of the All-Inclusive hotels in Playa Del Carmen. Hyatt Ziva Cancun is an All-Inclusive Family Resort (as oppose to the Hyatt Zilara which is adults only). This stunning All-Inclusive beachfront resort on the most beautiful strip of Punta Cancun is framed by the Caribbean Sea. Hyatt Ziva Cancun is a playful family escape on Mexico’s Yucatan Coast.

Hyatt Ziva is positioned brilliantly on a peninsula with the ocean on three sides, which means the views are fabulous, and the peninsula feels exclusive.

Unlike most hotels in Cancun, it has two gorgeous beaches, so you can enjoy swimming with fish and underwater animals, which is unique to this hotel as the waters off most of the hotels in the Hotel Zone in Cancun can be fairly rough and not calm enough to enjoy the marine wildlife. Here the calm waters are perfect for spotting things underwater.

The beach at Zilara (the second All-Inclusive Hyatt in the area) is also gorgeous, but it can get rough, sometimes so much so that you can’t swim at all, which is a major disadvantage.

Hyatt Ziva is peaceful and yet within walking distance of the main shops and restaurants in Cancun. You can apparently use the Ziva restaurants if you are staying at Zilara or Zilara restaurants if you are staying at Ziva. In terms of dining, Habaneros at Ziva is particularly lovely. It is a beach hut restaurant that serves tacos, shrimp, etc., and cocktails.

They say, “Find your bliss on white-sand beaches and play in the clear blue waters. Relax in luxurious suites with balconies and breathtaking ocean views. Indulge your senses at eight unique restaurants and three lounges featuring local and international cuisines. If you prefer your tastings in a more spirited form, there are 6 bars on the property, including a microbrewery! Spend a day rejuvenating body and soul at the oceanfront spa, with optional massages, holistic body treatments, and a hydrotherapy circuit.”

5. Hyatt Zilara Cancun

Situated on the widest stretch of beach in Cancun in the heart of the famous Hotel Zone, Hyatt Zilara Cancun offers an adults-only oasis of all-inclusive, oceanfront luxury. This is one of the very few All-Inclusive Hyatt hotels.

Offering luxury accommodations, an array of authentic dining venues, and live entertainment in a stunning oceanfront setting, this is one of your best All-Inclusive hotel choices in Cancun. Swim right up to your terrace, take in ocean views from the privacy of your bathroom or watch the sunset from your tub.

Six dining venues invite you to sample regional favorites, an array of international dishes, and delicious libations from mixologists and sommeliers. Savor fresh seafood beachside or enjoy a teppanyaki show. From sumptuous buffets to tapas and fine tequila, it’s all included.

6. Villa del Palmar Cancún

Villa del Palmar Cancun Beach Resort & Spa describes itself as an unparalleled Mexican oasis for both room-only and All-Inclusive vacations in Mexico. Like some of the others in our selection of All-Inclusive hotels, this hotel is located in Cancun rather than Playa Del Carmen up the road.

Villa del Palmar Cancun Beach Resort & Spa has earned the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2018. This impressive resort has beautiful beachfront freeform pools, modern rooms, fantastic views, and reportedly great service from the staff.

They offer All-Inclusive food and drinks, but, as a general rule, you need to sit down and order from one of the restaurants to enjoy free food and drink. Around happy hour time, it’s hard to order a snack to go with your drinks. There is also no pool bar at this hotel.

7. Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen

Getaway to Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort and the Caribbean Coast of Quintana Roo. Retreat to beachfront rooms with balconies and suites with private plunge pools that overlook beautiful gardens or the ocean. Walk the vibrant Quinta Avenida, one block from the resort, for eclectic shopping, dining, and nightlife destinations.

Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort is not an All-Inclusive hotel, but if you have club lounge access here, you have a level of All-Inclusive, as this Grand Hyatt club lounge includes free snacks and drinks all day, breakfast, and happy hour, which includes free alcoholic drinks.

It is worth noting that the central location of this hotel in Playa Del Carmen means that it’s also walkable to local restaurants, making the meals cheaper than in-resort meals that you might be forced to eat at more remote non-All-Inclusive resorts.

There are, however, reports of cold pools, and the beach is nowhere near as good as some of the other Hyatts in the area, particularly the two All-Inclusive Hyatts in Cancun outlined above. Hyatt Ziva is another good Hyatt option over in Cancun and features in our best All Inclusive hotels in Cancun. The pools and beach are better at Ziva.

If you are a Hyatt fan, you might want to consider the more luxurious but more isolated Andaz, which has heated pools and free in-room snacks in the mini-bar. Or perhaps one of the All-Inclusive Hyatt hotels in Cancun (again outlined above).

The Andaz is a fairly new hotel set in a wildlife preserve area. Its rooms are gorgeous, and the suites all have a jacuzzi. It is an amazing resort.

That said, the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort is a great choice and has the huge benefit of the Grand Hyatt club lounge, which is very good. You get free access if you are a top-level (Globalist) World of Hyatt member, or you can pay slightly more and book a club room with free club lounge access.

Within the lounge, expect an All-Inclusive setup with a decent feed in the mornings and the evening. The club lounge breakfast offers a nice selection of cut fruit and berries as well as yogurt, cereals, a hot egg dish, hot potatoes, cheese, cold cuts, pastries, and bread. The coffee and tea is good, and it is from a Nespresso machine.

The club lounge serves evening happy hour with salads, cold cuts, olives, two hot dishes, veggies, hot soup, bread, and desserts. Again this is a really nice spread and more than enough to fill you up. You also get free alcoholic drinks at happy hour and soft drinks throughout the day, making the lounge worth paying the extra for.

Book any room (not just the club room) on an exclusive “Hyatt Prive” rate via our luxury travel concierge, and you get a full breakfast and room upgrade (subject to availability), resort credit and more.

8. The Ritz-Carlton Cancun

The Ritz-Carlton Cancun is one of the best hotel club lounges in Cancun. If you book a club room, you, in effect, have an All-Inclusive experience, at least for the duration you are in the lounge.

Once you are out by the pool or in the hotel’s other restaurants and bars, you will have to pay for your drinks and food, much like any other paying guest. But for those who enjoy drinking and dining in the club lounge, the food is excellent, and the drinks are free.

Resting on the tip of the exotic Yucatan peninsula is The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, a AAA Five Diamond resort. This Marriott Bonvoy Rewards Category 6 luxury resort offers an enticing stretch of white sand beach, indulgent amenities such as the full-service Ritz-Carlton Spa and award-winning restaurants, and the intrigue of the ancient Mayan sites nearby. Recreational facilities include a 1200-foot sand beach, two sculpted outdoor pools, an oceanfront whirlpool, two tennis courts, and Fitness Center.

The resort has 363 guestrooms, including 50 suites with ocean views and private balconies or terraces. Each resort’s guestroom and suite is a sanctuary of comfort featuring sweeping ocean views and a wealth of welcome amenities. For families with infants, specially designed rooms offer all the comforts of a home nursery, including a crib, a changing table, and a menu of baby essentials that can be ordered before arrival.

Guestroom amenities include Egyptian cotton linen and duvet covers, television with international cable, CD Player, individual air conditioning controls, fully stocked refreshment cabinet, multi-line telephones with data ports and voice mail, high speed, Wi-Fi Internet access, in-room safe, marble bath with double vanities and separate tub and shower, plush terry bathrobes and more.

The Ritz-Carlton Club Level provides guests with the highest level of personal service with five complimentary food presentations daily. Platinum and elite Marriott Bonvoy members don’t get free lounge access. Everyone who uses this lounge has paid for a club room.

Often referred to as a hotel within a hotel, this oasis offers a dedicated concierge who attends to individual needs in a well-appointed, relaxed lounge environment. The Club Level food includes breakfast, lunch, light snacks, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, chocolates, and cordials.

Beyond the food, there is also a selection of wines, liqueurs, beers, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, complimentary wireless, in-room internet access, and two garments pressed daily.

This lounge is super smart, with double-height ceilings and intricately carved wall features, and the whole lounge is designed in browns and olives with lots of wood and thick chunky marble. The meals are excellent and filling, you will not be disappointed, and you will leave full (both with food and alcohol if you want).

9. Viva Wyndham Maya

Viva Wyndham Maya All-Inclusive Resort is situated only a short distance from Playa del Carmen right on the beach. While the location fits with Playa Del Carmen, this All-Inclusive hotel is not as luxurious as the other hotels we have featured in this listing. It does, however, include all meals and snacks; unlimited cocktails, beverages, and wine; a cocktail to welcome you upon your arrival; unlimited non-motorized sports; taxes and gratuities; daily activities’ programs, it is not quite as luxurious as the other hotels in this list.
