Book A Hotel

Which hotels in Rome have the best pools? If you travel as a family with kids or as a couple looking for a great spa and a swim, a hotel with a pool is a huge advantage. Because the weather is warm for much of the year in Rome, both indoor and outdoor pools are appealing. Outdoor pools tend to be open from June to September and offer a relaxing escape from the chaos of Rome.

You may or may not know that if you book any luxury hotel in Rome, including the Bulgari, which is detailed in position one below, using an official Preferred Partner agent like our luxury travel concierge, you will get two free breakfasts along with other fantastic benefits such as a delicious welcome gift, a prioritized room upgrade (subject to availability) and $100 resort credit.

For those of you who travel in luxury, we have outlined your very best hotels with pools in Rome below:

1. Best Hotel Pool: Bvlgari Hotel Roma

We visited the flagship Bulgari Milan late last year and it was brilliant. Their pool is pictured above, and I expect the indoor pool at their Rome property to be very similar. The details we have so far are that it will be a 20-meter-long indoor pool as part of their 1,000 m² spa. I expect this small but perfectly formed pool to offer the same real gold sparkly tiles and beautiful pool design that we enjoyed in Milan.

Opening in 2023, Bulgari Hotel Roma will be an incredible luxury hotel located in the heart of the Campo Marzio neighborhood, minutes from the Spanish Steps, Via del Corso, and the Bulgari flagship on Via Condotti. While the pool at this hotel is far from the largest in Rome, it will undoubtedly be the most glamorous, and being indoor, is open all year round. Add this hotel’s location right in the heart of Rome, and you can see why this brand-new hotel is top of our list of the best hotel pools in Rome.

The new Bulgari Hotel Roma will occupy a magnificent modernist building from the 1930s that faces two of Rome’s most iconic landmarks: the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the first Roman Imperator.

Like all Bulgari Hotels properties, the Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel will be in charge of both the restoration of the building and the interior design of the new Bulgari Hotel Roma, which will count over 100 rooms, most of them suites, as well as the prestigious Il Ristorante curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito and The Bulgari Bar.

2. Rome Cavalieri, The Waldorf Astoria Collection

Rome Cavalieri, The Waldorf Astoria Collection, probably has the best outdoor pools of any luxury hotel in Rome. It is also the only luxury hotel in Rome with a club lounge. This Waldorf Astoria is a resort on a hilltop overlooking Rome, offering incredible views. The hotel is set in a lush 15-acre private Mediterranean park containing three outdoor pools, including one children’s pool and a casual pool bar. This classy hotel is full of art and is a true luxury hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the Piazza Barberini as this beautiful hotel is not located in central Rome.

3. Parco Dei Principi Grand Hotel & Spa

Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & Spa offers an enormous outdoor pool surrounded by snow-white loungers shaded by white parasols. Set in the midst of luxuriant vegetation and surrounded by a marvelous botanic garden, this pool is an oasis of peace hidden away from the chaos of the eternal city.

4. Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel

Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel is located on piazza della Repubblica with its beautiful fountain. This hotel has a small rooftop pool with wonderful views of the historic center. This pool is large enough to do laps or just take a dip and enjoy cooling down with a view.

5. Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá

Hotels in Rome seldom have outdoor pools, so this rather good pool makes Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá unique. In summer, there is nothing better than a refreshing dip in their freeform and stylish outdoor pool, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Chill out with a book on your Bali bed or sun lounger and choose from a wide selection of light bites and cold drinks.

6. Aleph Rome Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

Housed in a historic building that was once a bank headquarters, the Aleph Rome Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton fuses original marble detailing with modern, high-tech rooms. In the heart of the city, they’re a 10-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Villa Borghese. The rooftop pool and bar offer a lovely area to relax and are complemented by a spa with a hammam, sauna, and treatments.

7. Radisson Blu es. Hotel, Roma

Located just opposite Roma Termini Train Station, Radisson Blu es. Hotel, Roma is a 5-star hotel that features a rooftop pool, which is open from June to September. This pool is large enough to swim laps, and children can splash in the adjacent kids’ pool.

8. Crowne Plaza Rome – St. Peter’s

While the Crowne Plaza Rome – St. Peter’s offers a great outdoor pool set in a tranquil garden, it is not centrally located and requires a shuttle or to take public transport to get into central Rome. St. Peter’s Spa at this hotel includes a Roman bath, with a Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, hydro massage, sauna, and 24-hour mini gym. The outdoor swimming pool and kids pool are open from June to September.

9. Westin Excelsior

Westin Excelsior on Via Veneto has a small but functional indoor pool as well as numerous wellness activities and facilities.
