Emirates Airbus A380 Business Class is one of the best Business Class for long-haul. I flew Business Class in an Airbus A380 of Emirates from Brisbane (BNE) to Dubai (DXB). You can also read our review of the Emirates A380 flight from Dubai to Sydney.

Emirates has the most luxurious First Class suites in the sky, excellent Business Class amenity kits in the sky, and delicious airline food. Pre-flight our trip report starts in the Emirates Lounge at Brisbane International Airport.

Review: Business Class On Emirates A380

Emirates’ Business Class seats are located in 2 rooms on the upper floor of the Emirates Airbus A380, sat to the rear of the First Class cabin. The first cabin is larger, with 58 seats, while the rear cabin (just in front of the bar) contains just 18 seats and feels more boutique. The configuration in Business Class is 1-2-1, which is great as it gives each seat direct aisle access. You can see the seat plan here.

The cabin feels luxurious, with classy burled walnut veneer, gold trim, and pearlized plastic that frames the seats. The mood lighting during the flight meant that the colors of the ceiling changed with the local time. I particularly like the starry sky panels which are shown during the nighttime.

Each seat comes with loads of storage, an in-seat power supply, a side desk for space to work, and your very own minibar (not refrigerated) stocked with soft drinks. The seat can be reclined into a full, comfy flatbed. Each seat also comes with a thin blanket, a large pillow, a duvet, noise-canceling headphones, flight socks, and earplugs. Review: Food On Emirates Business Class

Upon boarding, I was offered the choice between a glass of water, orange juice, or Veuve Cliquot. I also received a refreshing hot towel (hot towels were served before breakfast, 2.5 hours before landing).

Soon after takeoff, supper was served. As a starter, I chose the Thai-style beef salad, which was good: thinly sliced prime beef tenderloin marinated with oriental soy sauce, chili, and fresh lime, presented with a green papaya salad. The main course: garlic and chili prawns, served with steamed Pak Choy, stir-fried shiitake mushrooms and lemongrass, and coconut-infused rice. For dessert, I chose the chocolate soufflé tart, served with fresh raspberries (see photos of the food below). Overall, the food was ok but not as good as the food served on the Dubai-Sydney leg.

About 2.5 hours before landing, breakfast was served with fresh mango juice, a palette of tropical and seasonal cut fresh fruits, fruit-flavored yogurt, and a bread basket (butter croissant and a pastry). As the main course, I choose the delicatessen’s cold meat and cheese, offering a gourmet selection of mild breakfast cheeses served with sliced roasted beef and smoked chicken, dressed with an array of garnishes.

Light bites were available non-stop during the flight, from cold snacks (panini sandwich) to hot snacks (e.g., Yakitori chicken skewers, seafood vol au vent, sun-dried tomato, and feta quiche) and sweets (fresh fruit tart).

Emirates offers 10MB of free Wi-Fi to each passenger during the flight. An additional 600MB could be purchased for $1 USD. If you exceeded that limit, you could purchase yet another 600MB for $1 USD. Wi-Fi worked great.

Emirates offers comfy seats, excellent amenity kits, a huge entertainment selection, excellent food, and a wonderful crew. Their well-appointed bar on the upper deck makes flying Emirates’ A380 Business Class impressive. Flying the Airbus A380 is a far superior experience to Business Class on Emirates’ Boeing 777.
