Book A Stay

Poggio ai Santi is truly the perfect place to relax and unwind by a pool, looking out to sea and the islands of Elba and Corsica, and surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Location

Located on a hillside about 4 kilometers from the nearest town and the beaches of San Vincenzo, a stay at Poggio ai Santi feels like you are being embraced into a wealthy Italian family’s luxurious home. This peaceful hotel was Dominique and Francesca’s family’s home until they decided to share this spectacular spot with those lucky enough to discover it.

Style & Character

There are three buildings, the main 19th-century manor house and an additional two converted farm buildings that are a fairly steep walk from the main house and restaurant, which keeps the grounds and hotel feeling exclusive and like you have them to yourself.

The hotel and the grounds are tranquil and secluded. Windy paths lead you through heavily scented Mediterranean gardens planted with a hundred exotic trees; The perfume from pines, rosemary, and other scents are everywhere. To add to the natural feel, the huge gardens also house donkeys, horses, chickens, cats, and dogs!

Rooms

The best suites are located in converted outbuildings. The achingly romantic “Sea Superior Suites” with Asian-chic decor, parquet floors, whitewashed walls, and luxurious bathrooms offer spectacular views, which are complemented by a private outdoor tub on the terrace. Rooms in the main building are also stylish but can be less peaceful because of their proximity to the lively restaurant.

Food & Drink

The restaurant “Il Sale” is memorable, and breakfast is served on the stunning terrace in summer, where you can enjoy home-grown treats while absorbing the gorgeous views. Dinners are scrumptious with fantastic home-grown, seasonal food at very fair prices and with an extensive wine list. Plus, an experimental bar called “Il Sal8” serves up exciting cocktails. It is worth mentioning that guests must be over 12, which is a relief for some but a shame for those of us with younger families.

Conclusion

So sip a glass of Chianti and muse on your brilliance of finding this gem as you laze in your vast free-standing bath and gaze over the vines, the forest, and out to the sparkling Med and the island of Elba floating above the haze.
