Back in 2017, I wrote an article detailing the rumors that Four Seasons was going to launch a loyalty program. These rumors were music to the ears of regular Four Seasons visitors. My source is this article was View From The Wing and Gary usually knows his stuff. Unfortunately, this was only a rumor and no loyalty scheme came to fruition.
What Did We Expect From This Loyalty Program
Gary said, “the reference is to a ‘guest recognition’ program which is only half a loyalty program (which is equal parts recognition and reward).”
What Actually Happened?
There is already guest recognition at Four Seasons hotels without an official loyalty program as no loyalty program actually been launched. The Four Seasons seems to check your history with them before you visit, and you are often allocated the same room as the last time you visited.
Repeat guests tend to be rewarded with more generous room upgrades. But none of this is offered on paper, and the kindness offered by the hotel is delivered at the discretion of the management of that particular property.

This kindness or love, which is shared, is not a loyalty program. Why Is There No Loyalty Program?
Hotel chains offer loyalty programs to attract regular guests to properties within their portfolio, both to hotels they have already stayed at and to new hotels under the same brand. Four Seasons doesn’t have a loyalty program because it is such a strong brand. So strong, in fact, that it does not need to offer loyalty points to keep guests loyal. Once you have stayed in a Four Seasons hotel, I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean and will, like me, keep returning. Four Seasons attracts guests regardless of whether or not they offer loyalty points.
