Which are the best luxury hotels in the Canary Islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, with executive club lounges? We have already reviewed the best executive lounges in Madrid, and the best club lounges in Barcelona and the best club lounges in Mallorca. Now we look at the Canary Islands to see which hotels have the best executive club lounges.
Most luxury hotels do not have executive club lounges or concierge floors, with lounges offering complimentary food and drink. But there are some good hotels that do offer club lounges in Spain. It is worth picking a hotel with an executive club lounge so that you can benefit from all the free food and drink offered up in the lounge, as well as the luxurious rooms, setting, and service offered by these wonderful hotels.
The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, are rugged volcanic isles known for their black and white sand beaches. Tenerife is the largest island and has an active volcano, Mt. Teide, with an astronomical observatory. The capital is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but most holiday-makers head to the South of the island for the wall-to-wall sunshine experienced in this area.
1. The Ritz-Carlton, Abama, Tenerife
The best club lounge in Spain is at the The Ritz-Carlton, Abama, Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The Ritz-Carlton, Abama champions Tenerife-lux from its iconic style and architecture, premium accommodation, and first-class facilities to experiential luxury curated throughout the guest experience.
There are two large swimming pools at the hotel and plus large pools on each of the villa rows. The adult only pool is closest to the ocean. All pools had plenty of chairs, towels, and luxurious sunbeds. The beach is a long walk to the resort’s edge and down winding stairs or the hotel’s own funicular. It’s a public beach, but the hotel has plenty of loungers set up.
Located on the 10th floor of the resort’s Moorish-inspired Citadel building, this Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge offers a haven of peace and exclusivity for families and couples. The Club Lounge’s spacious area is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing ambiance, a full bar, and exquisite food presentations throughout the day: breakfast, light lunch, snacks, Hors D’oeuvres, liqueurs & desserts. High-status Marriott Bonvoy members do not get free access to this club lounge, only those guests who pay for a club room get club lounge access.
Overlooking the impressive Teide Mountain range and Golf Course, the club lounge also includes an outdoor terrace for guests to enjoy the island’s year-round mild temperatures.
2. Gran Melia Palacio De Isora
Your third best choice for a hotel with a club lounge in Tenerife is Gran Melia Palacio De Isora. This adults-only boutique hotel is situated within a resort on the idyllic island of Tenerife. The hotel has a privileged location alongside a black-sand beach surrounded by natural pools from which to admire infinite sunsets.
The adults-only RedLevel is their version of a club lounge at this Melia hotel, a hedonistic paradise on the coast of Tenerife and an oasis of peace and elegance where you can enjoy life’s little pleasures. The RedLevel Lounge offers exquisite service by a dedicated team of butlers.
Every afternoon you can welcome the sunset from our Liquid Garden, including an Open Bar service with snacks and drinks accompanied by live music on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Choose between a private adults-only pool surrounded by Bali beds and a Pool Concierge service or the Infinity pool, the largest saltwater hotel pool in Europe (5,000 m2). This hotel does not disappoint, plus it has a club lounge!
3. Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa
How about the island of Lanzarote? Are there any hotels with club lounges in Lanzarote? Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa is the latest project spawned by AMResorts and Hesperia Hotels & Resorts and opened in 2019 in the Canary Islands.
The 335-room, adults-only property has undergone an $11.1 million USD renovation. The hotel was formerly a Hesperia-branded resort. The updated property features a number of swim-up suites with private terraces and direct pool access, as well as a new spa, upgraded gym facilities, and a meeting space with a capacity for more than 1,300 attendees.
Additionally, 125 guestrooms at Secrets Lanzarote have been allocated as Secrets Preferred Club accommodations. Guests who book the premium Secrets Preferred Club option are promised “an elevated experience that includes luxury amenities and offerings,” including access to a Preferred Executive Club Lounge, private pool, and solarium, daily breakfast served in a private restaurant, upgraded bathroom amenities, and exclusive concierge services.
This year AMResorts and Hesperia Hotels & Resort plan to convert the Hesperia Playa Dorada to the Dreams Lanzarote Resort & Spa. This may also have an executive club lounge when it re-opens, but we don’t yet know for sure.
