Book A Hotel

We have already reviewed the best luxury hotels in Mendoza, Park Hyatt vs. InterContinental vs. Sheraton. Now we look at the remaining best hotels in and around Mendoza. Of note, there is no Four Seasons hotel in Mendoza and while these hotels are good, they are not the best hotels in Argentina.

Mendoza boasts one of the world’s most charming wine routes, with beautiful landscapes and a variety of high-quality vineyards. While the Park Hyatt is easily the best overall within the city, you may expect the InterContinental to come in position two, as this tends to be the better brand than the mid-range Sheraton, which is also found within Mendoza. But the truth is that the InterContinental is not in a great location for tourists. You have to drive or take a cab to downtown Mendoza. The other two hotels are downtown, so either is a better choice.

The Sheraton is not in a fabulous location either, on a busy road, but it is convenient for the center. The Park Hyatt has both the best location, best rooms, and best lobby, bars, and restaurant. This is our best choice for Mendoza.

Beyond Mendoza, we have picked some wonderful wine resorts to enjoy, so why not combine a stay in the city with a wonderful stay in the wineries beyond?

1. Park Hyatt Mendoza

Park Hyatt Mendoza, with its magnificent twentieth-century French academy neoclassical façade, is a prestigious and emblematic five-star hotel. It is located in the city center, opposite the historic Plaza Independencia, 15 minutes from the international airport, 30 minutes from exclusive wineries, and 90 minutes from the main ski resorts. This is your best luxury hotel choice in Mendoza.

Surrounded by imposing vineyard landscapes at the foot of the Andes and situated in one of the Great Wine Capitals, the hotel is an ideal destination for both leisure and business trips. Interiors are contemporary and stylish, with modern bathrooms featuring a mix of glass and mirror and Kaua Club and Spa amenities.

Just off the main entrance, Bistro M serves a tasty breakfast buffet from its open kitchen, while Las Terraza café is popular for alfresco drinks and snacks. This café also has a great bar and live music on weekends.

The reception atrium is impressive and has a two-level glass wall overlooking the courtyard of the hotel’s traditional Argentine grill restaurant, Q. Towards the back, you will find the Regency Casino Mendoza, where you can try your luck at the slots or 22 gaming tables until 6 in the morning.

Mendoza’s sunny, dry weather makes the outdoor pool a wonderful place to head, plus there is a gym, which looks out at the pedestrians strolling Avenue Sarmiento.

2. Sheraton Mendoza

While you might prefer the Park Hyatt, which is an obvious luxury hotel choice in Mendoza and is directly located on the city’s central square, the Sheraton Mendoza is a very popular choice, particularly with members of Marriott Bonvoy who are looking for an executive club lounge. The lounge is big enough, and the breakfast is a buffet is good with a few hot dishes (eggs, bacon, etc.), pastries, fruit, cereals, juices, coffee, and tea. Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members can also choose to have the (better) breakfast at the restaurant on the 17th floor.
