Ritz-Carlton hotels are often some of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in an area, but there is no Ritz-Carlton in Minneapolis, so the best luxury hotels in Minneapolis actually mainly fall within the Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt brands.
1. Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel
Without a doubt, the best Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Minneapolis is the newly renovated Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis. This hotel is connected to the city’s Skyway system, allowing unfettered access to popular downtown attractions.
136 rooms and suites feature high-speed internet access, beautiful decor, original artwork, fine linens, and limestone bathrooms. Breakfast at the restaurant here is really good, too. Unwind at Anda Spa or stop by Ivy Fitness Club. This is undoubtedly one of the best luxury hotels in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but it doesn’t have a club lounge.
2. W Minneapolis The Foshay
W Minneapolis – The Foshay offers luxury in a historic downtown location. It is definitely one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Minneapolis. The Art Deco restoration is very special, and it has two fantastic and lively bars. The rooms have great black marble bathrooms with large showerheads and usually large windows.
Blending Art Deco decadence with modern urban chic, the hotel offers vibrant décor, high-tech features, and signature amenities. Ignite your senses with 360-degree views of the city from the 30th Floor Observation Deck. 3. The Westin Minneapolis
The Westin Minneapolis is located in the Farmers & Mechanics Bank building that was built in 1941.The Westin Minneapolis opened in 2007, making it a national historic landmark. The Westin features the original 34-foot vaulted bank lobby, marble staircase, and wood-carved emblems signifying the leading industries of the World War II era.
The 6,400-square-foot walnut-paneled lobby is home to the 200-seat B.A.N.K. restaurant. Seats near the wood-and-granite teller’s counter look into the open kitchen, and the original chandeliers remain. The American cuisine features a wholesome, healthy menu to ensure you leave feeling better than when you arrived.
214 guest rooms boast an intriguing combination of sophistication and rejuvenation. The guest rooms offer different shapes, city views, and unique layouts since the bank offices were not designed as sleeping rooms. All rooms were recently renovated in February 2015.
This property remains a favorite for many travelers because of its great gym, pool, and hot tub, great Platinum treatment, and great location in downtown and only a couple of blocks from the light rail, which runs to the airport and Mall of America. The problem with the Westin is that most rooms have small windows and are very dark and gloomy.
4. JW Marriott Mall of America in Bloomington
While the JW Marriott Mall of America in Bloomington is not in the downtown area, it should be considered as it is one of the few luxury hotels in Minneapolis with a club lounge. The light rail also makes the Mall of America easy and convenient for both the Airport and downtown Minneapolis.
JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is directly connected to the Mall of America and its many renowned shopping, dining, and entertainment attractions. Elegant hotel rooms feature deluxe bedding and a host of premium amenities, while many showcase floor-to-ceiling windows. Ask for an airport view room as the alternate view is over the Mall and Sears.
The executive club lounge is on the 15th floor and is super smart with dark wood floors, mustard brown walls, high chairs, and tables, loads of comfortable padded chairs and tables, and excellent breakfast (for a club lounge) and evening light bites.
Beyond the club lounge, enjoy locally-inspired cuisine and craft cocktails at the hotel’s signature Cedar+Stone, Urban Table, or take a refreshing dip in the indoor pool. Le Méridien Chambers Minneapolis is a boutique hotel located near U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field, and Minneapolis’s theatre district, but it’s not on the skyway.

Room accommodations include Simmons Beautyrest®, walk-in rain showers, and spa-inspired baths. This hotel is easily one of the best in Minneapolis and is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel for earning rewards and redeeming points.
6. Renaissance at the Depot
The Renaissance at the Depot is a really special and unique hotel following their multi-million dollar renovation. It is also one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Minneapolis. But it’s worth noting that this hotel isn’t directly connected to the tunnels, which connect much of downtown, and it’s a couple of blocks away from IIRC.
The Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel is centrally located near both the downtown core, the Historic Mill District, and the Mississippi River, with easy access to major freeways and Metro Transit Light Rail stations.
Originally built as a train station over a century ago, the guest rooms offer you the choice of modern or historical styling and have the essential Marriott luxury bedding, complimentary Wi-Fi, and AVEDA bath amenities. Their restaurant, Milwaukee Road, features regional fare and locally sourced ingredients.
Other Marriott hotels in Minnesota with club lounges are Bloomington Airport Marriott, Marriott Northwest, The Hotel Minneapolis, Autograph Collection, The Depot Renaissance, Marriott City Center.
