Book A Hotel

We review the best airline club lounges at the airport DAC in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Security at Dhaka Airport is very high, with guards with machine guns everywhere. Beyond the security checkpoints, after immigration, there are signs to the airport executive lounges.

The airport itself is dated and, well, fairly horrible. Think Orwellian nightmare with futuristic mushroom-shaped columns dotted about, and you will be close to imagining what this dirty, loud, and chaotic airport is like. The lounges offer some escape from the madness, but they are pretty awful, too.

I have compiled a list below containing the best airport club lounges at the airport DAC in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I list the lounges that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these airport club lounges in detail below.

1. Intercontinental Dhaka Balaka Executive Lounge at DAC Airport

The Balaka Executive Lounge is operated by personnel from the InterContinental Dhaka – the first 5-star hotel in Bangladesh, which we have reviewed in our best hotel executive club lounges in Dhaka.

This is the only lounge in the airport featuring a full kitchen and a bar offering alcoholic beverages (at an additional cost) with 24-hour service staff. It is the best airport lounge at Dhaka International Airport.

Located in the International Terminal inside security and after Passport Control, turn right and proceed up the stairs at the end of the hall to the 2nd Floor, turn left, and follow the signs to the entrance.

If you are flying in business class, you may get free access to the Balaka Executive Lounge, but it is also a Priority Pass lounge for economy travelers. Or you can pay at the door.

The lounge is accessible from Terminals 1 and 2 and is made up of one main room with lots of rather depressing waiting-room-style seating. The buffet consists of a variety of hot and cold options in large aluminum containers.

The buffet area is quite stylish and has plenty of choices, much like you would expect of a hotel breakfast or club lounge lunch. There is also a selection of soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, and juices.

2. Skylounge at DAC Airport

There is also the Skylounge also in Terminal 1. Both the Intercontinental Dhaka Balaka Executive Lounge at DAC Airport and the Skylounge can be accessed by any passenger, no matter your travel class. Travelers from first class to economy class can enter these 24/7 lounges. To gain entry, use a lounge membership program or pay at the door.

When comparing the Intercontinental Dhaka Balaka Executive Lounge vs. the Skylounge at DAC Airport, the Intercontinental Dhaka Balaka Executive Lounge is the best.

3. MTB Air Lounge at DAC Airport

The next best is the MTB Air Lounge in Terminal 1. Again, it is not noteworthy, but you get free snacks, Wi-Fi, and showers, as well as newspapers & magazines in this lounge.

4. Eastern Bank Skylounge at DAC Airport

The Eastern Bank Skylounge at DAC Airport is in Terminal 1, and there is a big mushroom-shaped pillar in the center of this lounge, along with free food and drink. While the pillar is not a reason to choose this lounge, it is one of the few things that differentiates this lounge from some of the other lounges at this rather drab airport.

5. City Bank American Express Lounge in the Domestic Terminal

There is also a City Bank American Express Lounge in the Domestic Terminal. American Express Corporate Cardmembers have complimentary lounge access regardless of airline and class of travel.
