We review the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Chengdu, Marriott Vs. St Regis, Ritz-Carlton Vs. Sheraton, and those close to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport CTU. Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or as a single business traveler, I conclude which hotel is best to earn and spend your Marriott Bonvoy points.

If you want to stay in luxury in Chengdu, if your budget allows, you should consider the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu (which has a club lounge) or the St. Regis, which are the best Marriott Bonvoy properties in the city.

1. The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu

The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is a luxurious base from which to experience the city’s numerous attractions and the best in dining, shopping, and entertainment. This rewards category 4 hotel costs around 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Perched on the site of what was once an imperial palace, The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu pays homage to the historical splendor of the city’s rich past. This 5-star hotel offers opulent accommodation and a serene spa, as well as fine dining at Li Xuan and prime placement in Chengdu’s lively downtown district, a short distance from landmarks including Tianfu Square.

Book a Club Room located on levels 38 to 41, which features free access to the Club Lounge (pictured above) for up to 2 guests. The Club Level rooms in Chengdu feature impressive views of Tianfu Square in addition to spacious walk-in closets, paired washbasins, separate showers and bathtubs, and more. Ritz-Carlton Club® Suites feature 800-thread-count bedding, state-of-the-art amenities, and personal wake-up service for the ultimate Ritz-Carlton experience.

The Club Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu, is located on the 38th floor with sweeping panoramic views and features a dedicated butler and concierge staff. This exclusive suite offers global cuisine throughout the day (breakfast, light snacks, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and sweets), prepared to order at live cooking stations. This is also one of the best club lounges in Chengdu.

2. St. Regis Chengdu

St Regis. Chengdu is a rewards category 5 hotel that costs around 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. This makes the St. Regis the most expensive Marriott Bonvoy rewards redemption of all the Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Chengdu.

It is, however, excellent with sparkling white marble interiors and a feel of extravagance. Located in the heart of the business district, The St. Regis Chengdu is steps from Tianfu Square and Chunxi Road. Boasting an iconic address in the ancient city, it is strategically placed near premier shopping and renowned restaurants.

This landmark hotel presents epicurean dining alongside indoor and outdoor pools, The St. Regis Athletic Club, and the Iridium Spa, as well as conference space. Meticulously decorated to impart timeless style, 277 guest rooms and 36 suites unite custom furnishings with state-of-the-art amenities. Along with rare views of the city or Tianfu Square, rooms offer signature St. Regis Butler service, available any time, day or night.

Take advantage of our free upgrades, free breakfasts, and free perks at this St. Regis by booking your stay via our luxury travel concierge.

3. JW Marriott Chengdu

JW Marriott Chengdu is a gorgeous and centrally located with easy access to everywhere. The JW Marriott Hotel Chengdu brings refined style, culturally inspired cuisine, and holistic well-being to southwest China’s largest city square, Tianfu Square.

There is a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor swimming pool (really smart and up on a high floor), and Spa. The room, lounge, and service are much better than most JWs in North America, with an excellent breakfast in the restaurant. As a general rule, Gold Marriott Bonvoy members get upgraded top-floor rooms, and Platinum members often get upgraded to a suite.

The lounge here is a large and well-appointed lounge and one of the best club lounges in Chengdu, with excellent breakfast and happy hour. Many guests describe this hotel as “one of the best Marriott experiences” they have had.

4. W Chengdu

This is a new W hotel, Marriott’s brand appealing to the young and funky millennial. It opens in December 2019. This rewards category 4 hotel costs around 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

They say: Ideally located next to U Fun Plaza in the Central Business District of Chengdu’s Gaoxin District, W Chengdu boasts 297 stylish guestrooms & suites and bold meetings and events area. Four restaurants & bars are created for energized dining experiences with a social nature and cocktail culture. Its indoor WET® swimming pool and well-equipped FIT gym are set for detoxification, together with the signature AWAY® Spa.

5. Marriott Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre

The Marriott Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre is a Rewards Category 3 hotel so fairly cheap, whether you book on points or with cash.

Set on prestigious Tianfu Avenue near Chengdu Financial City and its metro station, YinTai Centre, and government agencies, the new Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre promises an experience as extraordinary as its décor.

The lobby draws you in with its sleek, contemporary lines, natural surfaces, and warm, neutral tones. This chic, modernistic theme extends to spacious guest rooms and suites, where large windows frame sweeping views of the city, and marble bathrooms exude a sense of calm. Dining options are equally impressive, plus there’s a relaxing spa, Mahjong room, fitness center, and indoor pool. There is a club lounge at this property, and executive rooms feature executive lounge access.

6. Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel

Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel is located in the heart of the business district of Chengdu, adjoining Tianfu Square and nearby Chunxi Shopping Street, Kuanzhaixiangzi Alleys, Jinli Ancient Town, Sichuan Province Science & Technology Museum, Sichuan Provincial Library, and Wenshu Monastery.

For transport links, you are in the Metro cross line of No.1 and No.4, with Sheraton Lido Hotel Chengdu only 3 minutes away from D exit of Luomashi Metro station, 10 minutes away from the North Railway Station, and 30 minutes drive from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and New International Convention & Exposition Center of Century City.

This is a super cheap Sheraton and only a category 2 Marriott Bonvoy hotel, so it only costs around 12,500 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

7. Renaissance Chengdu Hotel

Update: This hotel now appears to be closed.
The Renaissance Chengdu Hotel enjoys incredible city views from its 29th-floor bar and offers the Wanli Restaurant, serving some of the finest Cantonese and Sichuan dishes in town. If you’re visiting on business or pleasure, there are seven club floors that give you access to their club lounge, but this is not one of our top picks because it is not desperately luxurious and more of a business hotel. Plus, there have been reports of service being subpar.

8. Four Points by Sheraton Chengdu, Anren

There are three cheap Marriott Bonvoy redemption options in Chengdu, all category 1 hotels costing 7,500 Marriott Bonvoy points: Four Points by Sheraton Chengdu, Anren, Aloft Chengdu Shixiang Lake, and our Points by Sheraton Chengdu, Pujiang Resort. There is little to choose between these hotels other than their location, as they are all budget options.

Four Points by Sheraton is located in western Chengdu, Anren Museum Town. Anren is a part of the “Anxi” historical and cultural natural heritage corridor, together with Xinchang Ancient Town, Wuzhong Mountain, and Xiling Snow Mountain.

9. Four Points by Sheraton Chengdu, Pujiang Resort

The hotel is situated on top of the Grand Valley resort area, surrounded by ChangQiu Mountain and right beside golf courses, with a quiet and natural environment. We are less than an hour from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport and about 70 km from the city center.

10. Aloft Chengdu Shixiang Lake

This hotel is in Shixiang Lake’s scenic spot, which is the edge of Chengdu Plain and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
