I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Calgary. I list the lounges in Calgary that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. Fairmont Palliser

Your number 1 choice in Calgary has to be the Fairmont Palliser, Calgary for club lounges and luxury hotels overall. Centrally located in downtown Calgary, Fairmont Palliser is conveniently situated near the city’s business and financial district and is within walking distance to the city’s most exciting retail shopping, arts, culture, and entertainment venues.

The Fairmont Palliser is a historical landmark. It has been open since June 1, 1914, and has long been the city’s premier address, situated in a landmark building rich in history and architecture. For a century, this hotel has welcomed royalty, celebrities, visiting heads of state, and nations from around the world.

The latest addition to Fairmont Palliser, the Hawthorn Dining Room and Bar, is an ode to the Palliser’s rich history with an exciting locally sourced menu and a stunning lobby bar.

More recently, this Fairmont hotel has expanded its Fairmont Gold Floor. There are 50 fully-renovated contemporary Fairmont Gold guest rooms that enjoy exclusive Fairmont Gold privileges such as private check-in, personalized concierge, honor bar, complimentary continental executive breakfast, and evening hors d’oeuvres. The food is good here, the best of any club lounge in Calgary.

Crowning it all is the newly renovated Penthouse-level Fairmont Gold Lounge, where guests can relax and enjoy the panoramic city skyline view. Guests will also find a fully renovated corporate boardroom on the Penthouse level; The Canadian Pacific Boardroom is a state-of-the-art meeting room, perfect for corporate meetings.

2. Hyatt Regency Calgary

Featuring tennis courts and a golf course, Hyatt Regency Calgary Hotel is in an ideal location, about 1350 meters from Bow River. Opened in 2000 in a royal-style building, the Hyatt Regency Calgary is situated near River Park. It feels more historic inside than it actually is, with lots of classy and old-fashioned finishes and features in the public areas. Guests can quickly get to Heritage Park, which is roughly 7 km away. Many popular attractions, including a gallery, a theatre, and the tower, are in the area.

Guest rooms at the Hyatt Regency Calgary Hotel feature satellite TV, storage space, and a writing table. They feel slightly old-fashioned but have everything you need, and all have city views. A fridge and a stove are provided in each luxurious room. The main dining room is only open for breakfast and lunch, but the bar has an outdoor patio and a decent dinner menu, and Charcut Roast House and Milestones are about 150 meters from the hotel. You can enjoy city views from all the rooms. This venue also features a lap pool with a hot tub and a sauna. Fitness options such as a gym and a fitness center are also available on-site.

Centre Street C train station is in the immediate vicinity, 400 meters away, making this location convenient to get around the city of Calgary.

Of course, it is the Hyatt Regency Calgary club lounge that we are really interested in. Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room or the club lounge, and the lounge is very decent for a North American Hyatt Regency, with multiple hot options at breakfast and dinner. Throughout the day, there are snacks and desserts, and the service is attentive.

Globalist World Of Hyatt members tend to get free upgrades here, club lounge and turndown service, and more bottled water than you can drink. Given the service and excellent club lounge, this hotel is your second-best club lounge choice in Calgary.

3. Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel

The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel is a category 5 Marriott hotel and one of your best downtown choices for redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points in Calgary, particularly if you want a club lounge. The M Lounge is open 24/7, with free alcohol and light food. This hotel is downtown and easily walkable to most sights, so it is a great choice.

The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel has recently redesigned accommodations with pillowtop bedding, a modern fitness center, an indoor pool, and an exclusive M Club Lounge, all in the heart of downtown Calgary. Restaurants include ONE18EMPIRE, featuring creative Canadian cuisine and a stylish whiskey bar.

4. Sheraton Cavalier Calgary

The 305 room Sheraton Cavalier Calgary is a reward category 4 hotel which averages 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night and is one of the best four-star hotels in Calgary for business travelers, groups and families and features Oasis River Country Water Park, the area’s largest hotel water park, perfect for the kids. It is about a $30 USD plus tip cab ride from the airport, and it takes about 15-20 minutes during busy traffic periods and 10 minutes when it’s quiet. The only problem with this hotel is that it is an airport hotel rather than being in the center of town.

Rooms are modern, with the standard Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed, a flat-screen TV, and an oversized bathtub/shower combination. Elevate your stay with Sheraton Club and take in panoramic views of Calgary and the Rocky Mountains. This executive club lounge is on the 8th floor with breakfast and hors d’oeuvres, including 4-6 hot selections as well as alcohol for purchase. The breakfast spread is excellent in the club lounge with 2 or 3 hot items and fruit etc. Evening snacks are simple but substantial. Alcohol is reasonably priced ($6 for a drink). You can transfer in from the airport by calling for the hotel shuttle, which usually only takes about a 15 mins wait time at the airport.

5. Calgary Delta Downtown Hotel

The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel is a category 4 Marriott hotel and is a cheaper downtown choice for redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points in Calgary, particularly if you want a club lounge. If prices are comparative, the Marriott is the better option. The club lounge is available for breakfast snacks and beverages but is closed on weekends, so you get a breakfast voucher for 2 in the restaurant instead, along with a choice of one entrée.

6. Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel

When choosing between the Marriott and the Delta Calgary Airport In-Terminal Hotels, the Marriott is by far the superior choice. It is newer, the rooms are nicer, it is inside the terminal (instead of across the road), and it’s a short walk to the US terminal. This hotel is ideal for the first and last nights of your trip if you have an early or late arrival or departure time.

If you are looking for a runway view room, you should also go for the Marriott as it backs onto the gates and runway area, so it has much better views than the Delta.

With Calgary Airport YYC having no recommendable airport lounges, it is worth considering making use of this hotel lounge for as long as possible. Having lounge access for food and drinks is a huge benefit. The Marriott club lounge offers breakfast, with decent food and an orange juice machine that takes fresh oranges. In the evening, there are hors d’oeuvres and alcohol for a fee.

If you are an economy class traveler at Calgary Airport, you can pay or use your Priority Pass to access the Aspire Lounge (International) in the International Terminal, Airside along with the Aspire Lounge (Transborder) in the International Terminal, Airside, Concourse E for Transborder departures only or the Chinook Lounge in the Domestic Terminal, Airside.

The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is the best lounge at Calgary Airport. It is located at the airside of the Domestic International terminal in Concourse C. You cannot access this latter lounge with your priority pass, nor can you pay to use it.
