Location

Those looking for a peaceful stay away from traffic, noise pollution, and the day-to-day hustle and bustle will enjoy the tucked away location of Briar Patch Inn, located about a 5 to 10-minute drive from downtown Sedona. Sedona itself is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable; beautiful red rock formations invite you to explore them on foot, by bike, and from scenic overlooks while driving around in your car. Visit Sedona’s museums to learn about the art and history of the area, dine at great restaurants or sample delicious wines along the Verde Valley Wine Trail.

Best Time To Visit

Although Sedona has four distinct seasons, each one still provides plenty of sunshine and clear skies, so Sedona is wonderful to visit at any time of the year. Sedona’s seasonal changes are more pronounced in Oak Creek Canyon, which is well known for its spectacular foliage during the Autumn months of October and November, with average daytime temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and mid-30s during the night. When Spring hits, the trees, flowers, and plants blossom, and temperatures are mid to upper 70s in the daytime, which is perfect if exploring the hundreds of trails throughout Sedona.

How To Get There

You can fly to Sedona from major UK airports with most airlines, including British Airways and American Airlines, but you will need to transfer to either Phoenix, Denver, or Dallas. Most visitors flying from the UK fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport because it is the closest major International airport to Sedona, just over 2 hours drive (119 miles). You can, however, take a connecting flight to Flagstaff, Arizona, which is 26 miles from the center of Sedona and the closest commercial airport to Briar Patch Inn.

Style & Character

The Briar Patch Inn is a very serene and natural habitat and is all about being close to nature. Set in beautiful 9 acres along the lush banks of Oak Creek, it consists of nineteen individual luxury cabins nestled by a rushing creek hidden amongst trees, squirrels, flowers, and hummingbirds. This truly is heaven on earth – the grounds are just beautiful, lush, and lovely for a stroll. The sound of the crystal clear river flowing in this quiet environment is a moment to be treasured.

Service & Facilities

All the staff at the Briar Patch Inn are so very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. There is a breakfast room where guests can feast on a daily homemade breakfast, and cabins have patios where guests can dine or enjoy wine on their own.
Spa treatments include facials and massages (from the on-site licensed massage therapists), which are offered in guest cabins or at the outdoor creek-side gazebo. Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizing healing is available as well. Even though there isn’t a pool, Oak Creek offers swimming and fishing, and there is a library in the main lodge with books to borrow. The area is filled with hiking trails, and the Inn’s owners can offer suggestions. The on-site shop sells jewelry, pottery, and clothing, and there is free Wi-Fi in the main lodge area, which closes at 8:00 pm.

Rooms

The Briar Patch offers luxury Sedona cabins in the most relaxing of environments with private patios, spectacular views, and crackling wood-burning fireplaces, all furnished with southwestern charm with Native American arts and crafts. Guests can choose family cabins with full kitchens, bedrooms, and living spaces or more romantic creekside cabins for two. The cabins are quaint, rustic, and comfortable. There is plenty of privacy for its guests, with ample separation from other cabins and plenty of vegetation. Made of natural materials, such as river rock, flagstone, and knotty pine, some of the cabins almost appear camouflaged amongst the flora and fauna.

Best Rooms

The Deck House, a romantic one-bedroom rustic wooden cottage located right next to the creek, is incredible with a stunning view. It’s warm and inviting, with southwest-inspired decor and a full kitchenette. The outdoor patio with a wood-burning fireplace provides a romantic and private hideaway, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings whilst gazing at the full moon.

Service at Briar Patch Inn is delightful, and the hosts are extremely polite and welcoming. Each morning you are treated to a healthy and delicious breakfast, including homemade baked goods, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and the quiche of the day. This can all be enjoyed by the fireside in the lodge, on a tray at your cottage, or, best of all, overlooking the creek.
